Blog Subject:  Power Struggles

Hello Everyone :) I do not have school tomorrow so I decided to tackle a blog since I really do not need to go to bed. Todays topic is really just what is cheesing me off. Although I know what I want to rant about is by far not a new topic it is still one that really twists my whiskers if you know what I mean.

The topic of the day is the balance of power. It exists in very many places. In some places it is very easy to see and in others there is complete chaos due to the lack of it. The truth of it is that there always needs to be power, it is sadly the evident truth. The thing is, it does not need to be an overbearing power. It can simply be an overseer nudging wrongdoers in the right direction or even a kind babysitter who plays with the kids she watches. No one needs to shove their power down other's throats, it is just something everyone wants to do once in their life. We want to know how it feels for people to be under our thumb. What shows our true power is when we have complete control and choose not to use it. A true leader is not one who exerts all of their power but steps back and lets their subordinates work as they should. I'd like to think that is how I run things. I like who ever I am working with (whether in Avanthal or else where) to feel like they have control, not just me. I understand that at times the "leader" needs to lead and take charge, please do not see this as me saying that I let my Vanthas walk all over me. I'm just saying that a group, whether it be a country, a roleplaying city, or even a small group of students in a club cannot reach their full potential if one person is ruling over everyone with an iron fist and an air of sadism. That is why if I am...

Blog Subject:  A Poem Written About My Friend

I wrote this about my best friend. I feel like there is something missing between us at times. I like to make people in my life into animals in my poetry. Partially because I can see animals in others but mostly because I don't want people knowing that I am writing about them XD In this case my best friend is a rabbit and I am an Elk (for the one line where it says it). The poem makes sense to me, I hope it will make sense with others.

My Rabbit
The wind blows hard these days
Like ferocious ocean roar
My closest friend, a timid Rabbit
Her feet, frightened lapine paws across the woodland floor
Don't flit away from your burrow
When the hunter's dogs run and play
Hungry souls have no eye for beauty
And starving fangs will never go away

It's amazing what the Elk sees
When the Rabbit bows her head to dine
The brave lapine child dances with predators
Then is startled and gets lost in seas of pine
She jumps from place to place
Never staying a constant color
When she is one way to my face
She is a stranger to another

When once we were as true as two could be
There was never a fault in sight
But my Rabbit keeps on changin'
And I won't see her tonight
Life cannot be lived by washing one's colors clean
Or changing one's natural pelt
But I'm losing her to forest madness
I wish she knew how it felt...

So run my fleet footed forest friend
Run from every rumble in the wood
When once you were pure and true
You were truly misunderstood
