Blog Subject:  I'm so happy there outta be a law against it.

Seriously. The title sums it up. Crazy huh? Sure, it won't last, but for right now I'm savoring it. See... I've been confined at my house for roughly the last two and a half weeks almost going on three while I recovered from carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand. It was great having a break from work, but when your on a 'break' you want to be able to do stuff. When your hand is wrapped in gauze and causing you serious pain, you really can't do ANYTHING. I could wiggle my fingers, but that was about it.

Now though... I happy. I just went back to work today. I missed work. I really love my job. It can be crazy busy or dead boring slow, but its always an interesting and challenging part of my day. I like to think I'm a great hostler. Maybe I'm not the best one that ever lived, but I love to smile all day long and do the best job I personally can do. That means, to me, cleaning and straightening up the yard (it can get trashed fast with 300+ trailers). That means giving the best customer service to the DC I work for that is possible. It means having a 'can do' attitude thats heavily infused with friendliness and helpfulness. Sometimes I have a bad day, but even when I'm having a bad day, I still have to put a smile on my face and get my job done.

I guess when you take time off work, you always wonder if you'll be missed. Will people even notice? It goes along with the whole thinking process about disappearing or dying today who would care or notice? Turns out... everyone cares and noticed. I got so many smiles, thumbs up, "LET ME SEE THE SCAR", people poking at my wrist, gossping with me, complaining about all the frigid weather I conveniently missed... it was bliss.

Granted my palm hurts where they cut through it after an 8 hr shift, but thats to be expected. I haven't done much with it for three weeks. I only had the stitches out Wednesday, but baring that, emotionally I'm in bliss. The substitute did a good job, but my relief still felt my absence.... that made me happy. Everyone was so kind, so cool, so rev'd to see me. Even security burst out in the silliest song... "Here she comes... Ms. America...." when I walked through the gate. I laughed so hard! Then blushed. Then chased them on their golf cart which I call the clown car (I stole the name from my relief). Anyhow, even the DC head guy stood up in his corner office and gave me a wave as I strolled by on my way in (hes like that with everyone... I believe he might be the nicest guy on the face of the planet, but don't tell anyone). My boss was smiling. It was a busy day, not overwelming, no quiet spots... just a perfect Hostler's hustle and bustle.

I just feel... really grateful to be back. I feel even more grateful to have this surgery behind me. If you ever need it, please don't hesitate to get it... carpel tunnel release is fabulous to those of you who have chronic pain or chronic numbness (I never had pain, just no feeling). Its scary, but its so worth it in the end. We'll see how I do a month or two down the line... but even now my hand is doing so much better.

So... back to normal. Back to the real world. And guess what? It's a pretty darn nifty place. I just wish more people could find their bliss... get to this stage in their lives... and have a wonderful husband, fabulous job... all the things in life that make it so worth living.

I hope everyone else steps back, looks around, and takes this holiday to count their blessings as well. Things in the real world are incredibly tough... especially right now. We as humans are going to have to teach ourselves to learn a different way of life, go back to simple, be green and organic, and not be afraid to speak whats in our heart.s When you do all those things, you feel better. That means paying with cash, not credit. It's knowing how to do something even if its as basic as mixing up a birthday cake for someone you love complete with frosting from scratch - not out of a box or can. I've found a joy in life being like that.... living as I really think humans were meant to live.

The most meaningful part of living simply is that whenever you get to 'do' something, whether it's working on your home, or your relationships, or just standing outside breathing the air, you are able to be fully be in the present moment. When you pay attention - and by that I mean taking the time to appreciate the small details of your surroundings- you can truly begin to experience a more magical part of life. You notice things that would stay hidden if you hadn't tried looking, and with everything you touch you are marvelled by the incredibleness of nature and life, and your part in all of it.

Purpose is so important to us humans, some tune into finding it while others are just too distracted to do so. Whether you've been noticing life's details for years or just a few seconds, every new discovery is staggeringly beautiful and a new thing to think about. We have a great give as humans to see and think about these things we experience. I feel so grateful that I am who I am with the love of learning that I have because every day is a new opportunity to be amazed and shaken to the core.

When you follow your passion not matter what it is, money is no object, fame isn't either, and ego and arrogance seem to recede into the distance as your love for what you do builds. The only driving force that keeps you going back for more is the feeling of bliss that you get from performing your thing. The recession has been an interesting time for many people, for there has never been a shortage of jobs as much as there has been a shortage of people who create their own jobs and love it. I firmly believe that any passion one has can be turned into a resource as well. Making money is easy when you're doing something you love, and why? Because when you love your job you have the interest and capacity to challenge yourself creatively without feeling the stress or dislike of a job you don't love. You can put those extra hours into your passion (job or not) and it won't feel like stone cold 'work' that you need to actively motivate yourself to complete. You will dream about it and wake up with ideas for how to develop your passion, you'll jump out of bed instead of pulling the covers over your head, and you'll face the day with an attitude conducive to success. These concepts are no secret either, they are the basis of our optimal living and we can do anything we want! We are super beings with incredible intelligence and creativity. The act of creation is the single most powerful concept in the entire universe, it is what made us!! Creation created beings, us humans, who created everything around us. We were made to create, to build our lives, our futures, our technologies, our connections with other living things. We are innovative and curious beings, with an insatiable thirst for discovery and revelation. If we are to live up to our purpose, we must take control over our lives, not just work in an office that pays well so that we can live the way we were told to. There is a huge misconception that more money will bring us happiness but the road to happiness lies in the internal state of our bodies, minds, and spirits. Coming full circle back to paying attention; when we have less things in our life to clutter our houses (and thus our minds), we can make room in our souls for the existence of beauty in everything we experience with our senses. Even the most seemingly mundane chores and tasks can bring us time stopping revelations where we realize "if I had not been actively paying attention right at this moment, I would not have been opened up to this realization that can now help me in another area of my life". To stop and fully realize the details of life, liking stopping to smell the roses, can give us the distinct opportunity to see the world with a completely different pair of eyes. Meditation is an example of how to enter that state of mind and for those who practice is regularly, you can compare the opening of your eyes to the spread of spilled water on paper towel - the more water you apply to the towel, the more towel will soak it up and the whole piece will be transformed. When you pay attention more and more in life, you are transforming your view on life like putting on a new pair of glasses that enhances your sight ten fold.

LOVE LIFE!!!!!!!

Hex - I love it that you 'get it'. You totally do. I couldn't have said that better... what an amazing response. Thank you!

I also think that people need a job, any kind of work they really love to do. Those of us who're still students should have a dream, a passion they want to expand and make a living off of. I can't imagine what my life would be without that passion for writing, and I love working towards being a sold author and imagining a possible future. Because every time you're successful this future becomes more realistic. Every time you make another step towards this goal you know that you can do it.

That's what I've experienced so far. I know that there are people who don't know this feeling at all (my best friend for example), and I can't help but be sorry for them. I wish that those people will find what they love so they can lead a happier and more relaxed life too.

On the contrary, I adore people who've worked hard to do what they love and get money for it. Yes, people like you. :)

You give me the strength to continue working towards my personal goal which is very important to me. So ... I guess you should be proud that you serve as good examples and idols for other people. ^^

There's something just magical about the support we are able to give each other just by sharing our values and experiences of happiness and passion. It makes more and more sense to me each day about how I stumbled across you all who are as passionate about life as I am. I truly believe that we attract in our lives what we concentrate most on and for me I have really had my mind on connecting with others who are so individualized and centered around love. Although I believe fate and destiny can be altered at any time, I really believe it was serendipitous for me to meet you all. As Malia said; you are all examples and reasons for me to continue living life to the fullest and always pursue my dreams. When I see others doing the same I get a powerful motivation to keep going and not give up. As for your friend Malia who hasn't seen the light yet, I think we all have someone in our lives like that and it is up to us to lead by example and love our own lives if we ever wish to motivate those closest to us.

Hex, you really should start blogging too. I have a feeling that I'll find your entries way interesting!

As for my friend, I'm trying my best. Sometimes she motivates me to work even harder, although she prevents me from doing so as often (hehe). I believe the age both of us are in is an opportunity to change many circumstances of our lives and go searching for what makes us happy. So it's all light and hope. <3

Oh, and I should stop talking so much about myself? ^^°

I rather like hearing about you all go on about yourselves. Isn't that the point of blogs? :)

Well said!

I posted some writing tips but will be doing more journal type blogging I think. I see a lot of people in here using it as an emotional outlet which can be quite cathartic! Plus it's really exciting when people make comments on those things that come straight from the heart!
