I have decided on a change of pace. Today, we are going to celebrate rather than rant. (Who has my applause sign?)
Spring is absolutely, positively here in the Midwest. From my eternal position at my bedroom desk, I can hear squirrels chattering and birds squawking angrily at my murderous cat. The sun has warmed the Earth and brought sun-kissed life to our wretched, snowy wasteland. We pulled out all the weeds and my yard is beginning to bloom. Flowers, flowers everywhere!
Now, before I burst into absolute song, let's see what this means for school life. School is almost out- we are
thisclose- and yet, so far. Teachers are finally cracking down (Can I get an Amen?) and students are forced into obedience. Although there is complaint about the new rules, I don't agree with the majority. (Psshh, did I ever?) Yes, they do make you have a pass to go into the hallway. If you were a teacher's pet like
moi, you would have no problem getting one. No, they don't accept late work anymore and, yes, they are a teensy bit stricter with grading. If your overall grade was above a stinking D minus, you wouldn't have to worry about those zeros! Instead, you could be rockin' the A minus like, ahem, yours truly. Don't even get me started on the absences.
Okay, okay, deep breath, calm yourself girl. As you might be able to infer, my school year is wrapping up nicely. Teachers love me, my family is content with my grades and behaviors, and (some of my) classmates tolerate me.
Last but not least, a shout out to y'all still hangin' on to the winter blues, enjoy it! While Winter might not be as wonderful as a fully-fledged Spring, all seasons have a good side. Sometimes, it just takes a very...extremely...tremendously...optimistic person to see some of them! If you aren't an optimist, find one!
I just so happen to be available Saturday if you need a little help. ...
