Another blog.
I find blogs awfully strange. It's a lot like a journal, but rather than simply writing your thoughts for only yourself, you write them for everyone else too. It gets some people in a lot of trouble when they forget that. I wonder then, if a journal would not suit them better? After all, if you don't want to be judged or criticized, why write on the internet where both breed like mad? Yet, at the same time, I realize why they do it. And I realize why they sometimes forget to bite their tongue.
They want to be understood. And the only way to do that is to share. They need to share their thoughts, their beliefs, their feelings. They need to do that so that they can be understood. It doesn't need to be someone they know that understands them either. Because if one understands another's feelings and thoughts, a connection is made. A connection that makes whatever the other person is feeling twice as good, or half as bad.
This connection can be made face to face of course, but in this digital age of ours, it seems to get harder and harder with each passing year. We all love our families, we all have our friends. But in the end, sometimes they just don't understand. And without that understanding a vital connection is missing. Through blogging, we put ourselves out there, fishing with our souls to catch an understanding few, and connect.
I'm not sure what to call that connection, or why we humans have this need. But we do need it, and it does exist.
I have said in the past that I do not like to rant. That focusing on the evils and injustices that the world gives you is not healthy for the soul or mind. I still hold to that.
However, I wanted to blog about my recent troubles, not to focus on them but to simply share them. By sharing, I hope to let it go, once and for all. Many of you, if you read my signature recently, know that my laptop was stolen. That was my only computer. I live with others that have computers, thank goodness. But what if I hadn't?...
