The Syliran Dream (Open)

Postby Lynes on August 18th, 2012, 6:01 pm

Lynes through the set of streets that adorned the outskirts of Syliras' giant castle, this area was generally covered in poor people who couldn't pay for a room within Syliras, as well as criminals. Sadly, this is where Lynes generally slept, among the thieves, and the murderers. The were a few good people on the streets though, one being a doctor that he had heard much of, most of it wasn't good.

Most told him of the doctor's insanity, of how he wanted to invent things, or how the man always seemed to not be present. As in he never seemed to actually be there in spirit, with them. Either way he was a doctor who apparently helped the poor souls that lived outside of the walls of Syliras, outside of reach of their precious knights.

Lynes awoke sitting in a pile of hay, the hay stabbing at the skin beneath his fur, sitting up, he stretched out his front and back legs, yawning. He usually would sleep in his wolf form, as it was much more convenient then to have to try to find or pay for a room to stay in. Tonight, he had slept in the stable, with the very few horses that the people outside of the castle had, it was a rather peaceful place at night.

He morphed into his human form, most believed it took a minute or so and that it was painful to morph between the two, but that was not the case. Actually, it was instant and completely painless. He stood nude inside of the stables, turning, reached underneath the hay pale, grabbing hold of the pile of clothes that it lay on top of.

Pulling out a shirt, undergarments, and pants he unfolded first the undergarments slipping them on. Followed by his pants, and lastly his shirt. Stretching out his arms, Lynes cracked his neck from side to side. He hated that he had to wear clothing; it just felt so uncomfortable against his skin. Hay most likely remained in his hair from sleeping there, but he didn't really mind, someone would tell him if it did. He exited the barn to sound of a screaming elderly woman, not a pleasant sound to awaken to.

Stepping into the city he looked around for the source, hoping that he could at least shut her up for a moment or two. Seeing her, running the through the streets, he very slowly began to walk towards her; catching pieces of what she was saying. She was seeking a doctor, screaming for help. Perhaps this would be his chance to meet the so called “crazy” doc. His stomach growled as he reached the woman, “Ma'am, if you would please settle down, I know where the doctor is and I will happily go get him and bring him to this bench.” He said as he sat her down the bench right behind her, but you must stay here.

The woman smiled and thanked him and Lynes turned and headed towards the baked goods vendor on the other side of the small neighborhood, if you could call it that. On the way he caught sight of a thin, blonde haired male sitting on a bench, chowing down on a bag full of sugary treats. He looked the man up and down, trying to figure out where he knew him from.

The man wore some of the strangest clothes that he had ever seen. A long shirt underneath a vest like piece of clothing, matched by a well stitched pair of black pants. Lastly a strange ribbon of material had been wrapped around his neck and hung almost the entirety of the way down to his waist, this must have been the man he was searching for. Deciding that Lynes' own baked goods could wait he sat down next to the man, looking over into his eyes. “Ya know, there's a woman on the other side of the town screaming for the attention of the infamous doc?”

The Syliran Dream (Open)

Postby Allison on August 19th, 2012, 12:18 am

It was an hour before sunrise when Allison woke, so the forest was still shrouded by darkness. It was the perfect time for a feline like Allison to do her hunting. She arose slowly, not making a sound and morphed into her feline shape. It all happened very suddenly, in a bright flash of white light she was no longer human. She was now a heavily spotted jungle cat, with fast reflexes and wide brown eyes. Slowly she emerged from her tent, nodding to her horse as she passed in greeting. She then wandered out into the woods.

Allison ventured about passively, following a few scent trails that didn't lead to much. Eventually, just as the was beginning to peak over the horizon, she spotted a small brown creature moving about in the undergrowth. Steadily and with grace she crept up on the animal, which turned out to be a young rabbit. Once she was close enough she loosened up her tense muscles and leaped. Allison caught the rabbit in a swift motion and before long her teeth had pierced its throat. Once the animal stopped struggling and went limp Allison begun her meal. When she was finished with the carcass it was just bones and fur. Allison licked the blood off her muzzle and decided to give herself a bath. She reached back and began scraping her fur with her rough tongue.

Allison stopped suddenly when a strange scent entered her nostrils. As soon as she identified the scent as a fox the creature leaped out of the bushes and onto Allison. It dug its teeth into her neck, narrowly missing her throat. Allison clawed at the red-furred beast and managed to escape its grip. Then she ran as fast as she could in no particular direction. Eventually Allison found herself at the gates to Syliras. There she waited patiently until a young human approached the knights who guarded the gates. After a brief chat, the guards opened the massive gates. As soon as they opened Allison slipped through, leaving drops of scarlet blood trailing behind her.

Once inside, Allison had no clue where to go. She wandered around the crowded streets aimlessly, painfully aware that she was loosing dangerous amounts of blood from her neck as every moment went by. Soon enough however, she was blessed with a small amount of good luck. She caught the scent of something sweet and sugary, and it made Allison's mouth water. When she found the source of the smell , she took in her surroundings. The scent of illness was heavy here, as was another smell. Mingled with the scent of humans was the distinct odour of a canine kelvic. However the blood loss was making Allison slightly delirious and so she decided to try and steal some of the sweet food anyway. She crept closer the the bench where two males, one human one kelvic were sitting. Perhaps they're bondmates.. she thought to herself. Once she was close enough she decided to play the lost kitten rather than steal a snack. She wandered over to the bench and leapt up on top of it, beside the human with the food. She let out a pitiful mew and looked up at the man, making sure her bloody bite mark was visible.

The Syliran Dream (Open)

Postby Marcus Kimura on August 19th, 2012, 2:08 am

Marcus woke up with his mix bred horse Alice in the stables. He got up from the hay bundle he used as a bed behind the hay hill Alice claimed as her’s. He brushed his hair with his wood brush and decided to shave for once. He damped his hands with water from his water skin then lathered up his chin and under his neck with soap then began shaving as best as he can without a reference for his moments. He thought more people would interact with him if he was clean shaven and presentable.

The morning breeze was nice and cool to his skin as it blew through the stables. It hadn’t gotten up in the mid 70s yet. That wouldn’t happen until another hour or so. He did his best not to disturb Alice as he left. He kept his belongings tied to her. He stuffed 10 mizas in his pocket and headed out of the stables and looked around the general area. His nose flared as he smelt something sweet cooking off in the distance. He licked his lips and began walking on foot in the direction it came from.

As he made his way closer with each step the smell got stronger. It smelled of cooked dough, sugar, eggs, and cooking oil. He pushed through the people in line to buy to get a peak. Nothing really of interest, only a vender selling his goods of sweet doughnuts. He overheard a conversation and the smell of two of his kind. One smelt oddly of dog but the other was a feline like him. He stepped closer to the smells near a bench.

He then caught the scent of fresh blood and gasped. It was being split by the cat kelvic on the bench beside the men. He stepped quicker to the men and decided to point out the obvious. He overheard the strange looking man was a doctor of sorts “Hello, can’t you see the poor thing next to you is bleeding out rather quickly? Can’t you help her?”

The Syliran Dream (Open)

Postby Natsuki on August 19th, 2012, 3:25 am

Tired. Hungry. Lost... again.

Natsuki's paws were cut and bleeding, the bag she carried in her mouth seemed to be getting heavier and heavier. Every step was painful, she had to find a place to rest. Preferably a safe place, away from hunters and frightened farmers.

And transforming wasn't an option, not until she got someone to take the collar off. She had spent a few weeks with a family that needed someone to look after their farm and children while the parents went away for business. She hid her possessions in the paddock and let them put a collar on her.

But, her masters never returned. A week after the day of their scheduled return some big tough mean looking men came and took the kids away. Obviously Natsuki wasn't too happy about this but there wasn't anything she could do.

Not being able to get the collar off, she awkwardly dug up her things and carried them with her.

She wandered past what was supposed to be a house, it was really a sheet of rusting metal propped against a crummbling wall. There was a young girl sitting with a little baby under the metal. Her dress was torn and dirty, her blonde hair was tangled, she had dirt of her cheeks and grazes on her knees.

They appeared to be alone and unsupervised. Natsuki carefully went over. The little girl stared up at the wolf, there wasn't a hint of fear in her big blue eyes.

Before Natsuki could get too close a rock came out of no where and slammed into her shoulder. Natsuki let out a yelp and spun around, the mother of the children tried to hit the wolf with the rake she held.

Natsuki put her ears back and growled. She took off down the street soon getting lost amongst the crowd of people. At least someone was watching them.

A sweet scent reached her nose. Natsuki began to weave her way through the mass of villagers heading towards the smell. She eventually found some people sitting at a bench, one man was holding a bag of baked goods. He was older than the others, he had light coloured hair and was wearing strange clothes. The other smelt strongly of dog. He had straw in his hair too. Standing by them was a another man, and sitting on the bench was a kelvic feline. The cat was mewing sweetly, trying to get something to eat.

Natsuki hated cats and they way they only liked you when they wanted something. She kept her distance, the group smelt strongly of blood and medicine. One was obviously a doctor, the rest were probably his patients.

Her stomach growled. Perhaps she could eat the cat?...

Race turned a doughnut hanging from his mouth as he tried to speak to Lynes. “I don’t know any infamous doctors.” He spoke perhaps Lynes would understand him through the sweet roll perhaps not. Swallowing down the sweet roll he took a deep breath. “I don’t know who you’re talking about but….what did this lady look like perhaps I know her.” He asked when his attention was drawn away from Lyness. “What a unusually hideous looking cat.” He murmured as he looked it over.

“My step father forced me to dissect cats when I was growing up I always preferred frogs something about their eyes staring up at you while your cutting away gives you the creeps.” He said to himself not liking cats at all. “Looks like this one was bit by something oh well I am not going to mess with strange cats and get clawed.” He spoke but he seemed to be talking to someone else besides Lyness. “If you’re looking for an infamous doctor I think I know the one you’re talking about the guy use to harvest peoples organs was a real mess. I remember after he was caught I went to go retrieve some free medical items however those damn knights took it of course but the place was a mess. I will never be able to eat anything out of a jar again” He spoke shuttering slightly.

“Oh I didn’t catch your name my name is Banner…Race Banner what may I call you?” he asked offering a sweet roll over to him. He didn’t get to talk to many people and the chances that he got he tried to learn everything about the person. He had a knack for remembering everything a person said small details there movements. Perhaps this was his way of dabbling in psychology studying people’s behavior or perhaps he was just generally interested.
