The player scrapbooks forum is literally a place for writers to warm-up, brainstorm, keep little scraps of notes, or just post things to encourage themselves and each other. Each player can feel free to create their own thread - one per account - and use them accordingly.

Yeeah yeeah! Write through your heart and create from what you are most inspired, it will pay off in the end! I can't wait to read this up and coming stuff. Is this your approach on nano?

Ps I can see where you got that inspiration about a skill development guide. ;)

Keep it up naeya!

Sincerely,
Imass

[Naeya's Scrapbook] Cosmic Love

Imass! I'm definitely feeling that philosophy. Thanks for commenting & for letting me bounce my ridiculous ideas off you.

NaNo-wise, I'll still be going the roleplaying route. I've got a lot of threads I want to write and finish for Naeya, so I'm relying on November to get some serious character plot stuffs done! Hopefully I'll have a more focused muse next week (!! next week), but if not then I'll just have to force it until it gets easier. The official NaNo is all about being okay with writing like shyke anyway, though I feel like it may be a bit different for Miz because people are relying on you to continue a decent story. It'll be interesting to see how it turns out, anyway. If I can get even half of Eri's word count from last year, I'll be a happy girl!

I have so much love for Julian Barnes. Which is your favourite work of his? x

Johanne - To be honest, I haven't read much of anything by him! I've got The Sense Of An Ending and A History of the World in 10½ Chapters pretty high up on my to-read list, though. Any recommendations? Also, I'm so glad to see you're still around! If you've got AIM & would like to do word sprints together during NaNo, you should add me - "whatthepetch".

My NaNo Tracker is ready to roll! It'll probably get posted it in Nae's plotnotes at the beginning of the month. My goal is 2k/day, or 4 posts of around 500 words each.

Inspiration

"If it is ugly. If it is petty and mean. If is too base, too graphic, too raw, too honest, too real, too personal, too emotional, too anything, then it is probably of the best things you have ever written. Writers are too often afraid of what their readers might think of them, might assume, might opine, based on their work. ... The only thing that works for me to overcome this natural fear is pretend while writing that my words will never be read. I keep telling myself that right up until I submit." Caelum.

“Write without thinking of the result in terms of a result, but think of the writing in terms of discovery, which is to say that creation must take place between the pen and the paper, not before in a thought or afterwards in a recasting. It will come if it is there and if you will let it come.” Gertrude Stein.

“If you want to write, you can. Fear stops most people from writing, not lack of talent, whatever that is. Who am I? What right have I to speak? Who will listen to me if I do? You’re a human being, with a unique story to tell, and you have every right. If you speak with passion, many of us will listen. We need stories to live, all of us. We live by story. Yours enlarges the circle.” Richard Rhodes.

Sybel - Haha ohhh no! We should probably start a support group. Our slogan can be, "This room is too small for the three of us."

I've been scarce on my PC account recently & hope to remedy the situation by getting caught up on my threads and starting those solos I promised myself. I've posted a quick PC thread list below, as the last was getting muddled with strike-throughs.

Threads To Reply To:
Starry Eyed (Cachet)
Silver Linings (Sybel, Cachet)
Fate or Coincidence? (Sybel)
Alone Together (Anton)
The Serpent and The Seer (Savitaire)
Strength in Numbers (Imass)
Hurricane Drunk (Orion, Rothyr)
Drink Up (L'orlei)
A Tower of Cards (Blythe)
The Night Starts Here (Serrif)
Dreamscape (Duvalyon Hellebore)
Come Away To The Water (Gianne)
A Konti, A Human, & An Akalak (Revy, Imass)

Poor Nae's planned character development has been neglected, so I'm hoping I can get this caught up in the next week or so - or at least begin the solos to finish next season!

In other news, I'm currently reading Dune, which has completely captured my imagination. Has anyone here read the entire series?
