Physical Description Name: Amaria (Amy) Waterstance Race: Human Age: 26 Birthday: 26 Spring 486
Character Concept Physical Description: Amy is a tall girl for a human, standing almost 5'10", as well as being much better built than most ladies her age as well. She has medium length black hair always held back by her father's old bandana, with cobalt blue eyes, that look like they were made from the waters themselves. Normally she's seen smiling, particularly when with children, at work, or boxing. She also wears a pair of studded knuckle gloves made of leather and dyed black as well, with the fingers cut out of them so she can move her hands freely still. She also tends to have bandages on her face and hands fairly often, due to scuffles she gets into at the local tavern.
Personality: Amy is a very personable lady, always quick with a story or tale from the shipyard for the orphans she lives near, or even for a traveler coming through town. She always works very hard at any job she is given though, and is proud of any work she does. She tends to be difficult to anger, but is always willing to accept a challenge, or protect children or families that need aid.
Beliefs: Amy feels that everyone should have that person they can look up to in life, which is why she spends time with the orphans in town. She also feels that to get anything in life you should earn it, either through hard work or skill, not through inheritance or social standing. All should be equal until they prove themselves otherwise.
Likes: Amy has only three things she likes above all else, the smiles on the orphans faces, the sound of the water crashing on a boat, and the rush of excitement from a duel.
Dislikes: Amy's only real dislikes are rats, for they eat through grain, smugglers, because they ruin good ships men worked hard to make, and thugs, for they are anything but role models for people. She also tends to shy away from seaweed dishes, she sees enough of that at the shipyard, despite loving kelp beer like any Zeltivian.
Character History Amaria was always begging to go with her father to work, even as a girl. She always looked up to him, and admired his passion and joy for both work, and the trip to the pub after a hard day building as well. He worked at the local shipyard, and helped make the most amazing vessels to her. Without her mother around due to illness taking her, her father would normally allow her to come. On those days, he would not drink with his mates, and would normally get into brawls protecting her from the harms of drunks at the tavern, until she grew old enough to learn how to defend herself. On her 17th birthday her father gave her his old bandana, and took her out on one of the vessels they had just completed, a beautiful cargo ship, capable of holding 2000 casks of wine. As they were riding though, a tragic moment took her father from her as well, a storm they did not forsee threw him overboard, and down to the depths of the lake. Though that moment would have forever caused scorn for what took the loved one of another, Amaria decided she would help the shipyard any way she could to make boats safer for sailors. She moved into her own home that she bought with the money left from her father, and requested a job at the shipyard, testing ships and helping with lumber. She swore to not let what happened to her father happen again, and took to learning how to swim where she could between work, and after realizing she moved close to the local orphanage, also between spending time with the children.
