Ball couldn't believe it. The petching creature was still alive! How in the eyes of the gods was this thing still alive? The three inch squire watched as the bird stood back up, struggling with its broken wing, sore throat and tongue gave the bird a mighty difficult time breathing as it hauled the entirety of its body back on it's two feet. The Kriital's eye socket was gushing blood and goo from what remained of the eyeball that was resided within.

Setting Thorn on the ground Ball held up his good hand palm up and fingers extended out towards the bird. Bending the other arm at the elbow the hook as still there, he had been concentrating on it to keep it from falling to the wayside and returning to a ragged stump of an arm. A hook was a weapon when it was apart of his body. Legs were shifted back and forth slightly, with most of his weight being brought down on his rear leg it was obvious that it was his actual leg and not the peg leg which bore little to no weight and was just barely touching the ground.

A smirk graced his lips as he flicked the fingers of his extended hand up towards him, it was the universal symbol of 'Try me'. With the taunt finished Ball returned his fingers to their plank form and turned his hand so that his open palm was facing inward as if he was about to slap his own chest. The bird shrieked, Ball remained motionless. There was no question this bird was pissed. Ball defiled its home, beat it up, and destroyed the world's ugliest children ever. Leaning forward the bird coughed and started to retch, the vile projectile was boiling over and Ball wasn't really in the mood to dodge it.

Instead he gauged the length of coughing and retching, this was a big one the pycon could imagine... Shifting his back leg so that the foot was nestled under Thorn to his left Ball waited until he could see the bile rising in the creature's throat. He could see the acidic bubbles gurgling just out of sight but it wasn't enough to unleash his preemptive attack. Just another tick. C'mon you vile bugger!

The vomit boiled up beyond the throat, it was now that Ball took his defensive stance into offensive fury for the bird.

As Ball is getting closer and closer to maxing out Pyken as a skill, I would like to request that in places where Ball is not doing enough to constitute Pyken XP if Pyken technique lores could be issued instead.

Examples of proper XP level for Pyken would be: Ball developing or refining his technique by adding new thing against an actual moving target, not a dummy.

The use of basic skills alone are not enough to accomplish XP at Ball's current level of Pyken.

Thank you.

Shifting his weight onto the front peg Ball did a scooping kick on Thorn, launching the lance like an arrow through the air. As the expert pyken artist was hoping the weapon straightened out and the lance's tip found it's target true. Kicking with is back foot caused the Pycon to shift his weight fast and in a hurry else end up on the ground.

With Thorn in the beast's throat, lodging the flow of bile and choking the bugger on it's own vomit Ball allowed his back foot to land fully on the ground before he pushed off with it lunged forward. Hand stretched out the squire reached for Thorn's shaft as it dangled above. A simple flick of his hand on the very end of the lance as his hand missed the full shaft Thorn came out in with tearing the Kriital's throat even more.

The flick of his hand was from top-down, so Thorn followed suit of his owner as Ball tucked into a roll and immediately rolled between the legs of his enemy. As Thorn slid into his side the pycon squire grabbed a hold of it and twisted his body into a crouching stance, watching as the hole in the bird's throat spewed green and red. It was an odd sight to behold as he watched the bird's life and vomit spew from a gash without seeing the actual gash. The bird didn't even bother thrashing as it's life was draining from it's throat, it was as if Ball's attack drained the very essence of attach from the damned creature.

Yet that wasn't the end, Ball was hearing another sound, closer to him and it was a rumbling and frightening sound. Not wanting to be anywhere near the creature in the case that it decided to explode like some reimancer's fireball the squire turned and ran, plowing right through the steaming puddle of blood and vomit, ignoring the pain as he dived head first into the rotting bear carcass.

It was no sooner that Ball was full bodily into a rotting carcass did the sound of splattering and roaring flatulence erupt in the cave. The sound was bad enough, yet it was the smell that was overwhelming. Even though Ball had no stomach to speak of he found himself leaning out of the bear and dry heaving.

It must have been several long ticks before Ball was able to stop and look at the creature. It had released it's bowels and bladder. It was the stench of it's excrement that were so strong that Ball shuddered as he grabbed a hold of Thorn and dragged himself from the bear's stomach and remained kneeling on the ground, Thorn sticking out to one side. Gasping in the putrid air around him the squire's exhaustion from the night before had tripled as combat faded away.

Even though exhaustion was growing and the squire was half tempted to succumb to it within this vile cave of death and decay Ball knew he had a task to finish. Standing up Ball used Thorn as a crutch to help himself stand and then turn. Looking down once more at the beast's single prodigy left the Pycon sighed and lifted Thorn once more straight, point towards the cave ceiling.

In the names of Sylir, Tyveth, and Wysar I sentence you to death. Even though you have done no wrong as of yet your deeds lay before and behind. Lifting Thorn up one handed was tough, but the pycon did it anyway, the hook of a hand he had reverted to a ragged stump.

In the name of Sylir and acting in the authority of the Order you death shall be carried out with the only weapon I have. Death by lance. Ball brought his lance down hard, using the full weight of his body behind his blow the pycon hoped to the gods his blow was true and strong. The egg wasn't very small but its curved surface was stronger than one could imagine, he watched as the first one tried to break out from it's cage and Ball snuffed its life out fast enough. The second one was still encased though... Thorn hit true and when the egg buckled underneath the attack and Ball felt slight resistance from the actual bird's body before Thorn crushed that underneath as well.

Pausing in dealing out punishment Ball let Thorn rest before he lifted it once more and turned to the beast that he slain both it and children. Walking around the puddle this time Ball stopped by the creature's neck and looked up a the back of the bone that protected its brain and head for so long. Now it shall come home with me.

Using Thorn as a crowbar the squire wedged the lance between bone and head as closer to the middle as he could. Putting his shoulder and full body underneath the shaft Ball wrapped hand and stump around the shaft and pushed up. Thorn shifted a bit as the crest started to pull up some and Ball had to pause in pushing upward to reset Thorn a little deeper before he pushed up again.

It took three chimes for Ball to pry the cap of bone off the bird's head, it was a large piece of bone and Ball nodded to himself. Exhausted Ball found himself sitting just outside of the cave's entrance taking in the fresher air as he looked out.

In the far distance the Pycon was able to see the outpost as a small square building. It was his temporary home for only a bit long. He just had to return there, and a task like that he needed a quick way to do so, walking just wasn't going to cut it. Turning back around Ball looked at the bone piece that sat on the ground of the cave. Hmm.

Getting up from his place outside Ball didn't really want to return inside but there was no choice, he needed to retrieve the bone crest, Thorn, and a few other pieces the squire felt he may have need for in order to escape this place without much damage... At at least he hoped so. Several feathers, his weapon, and the bone Ball found himself on the edge of the cliff looking down to the ground below he gulped, he couldn't see the ground beyond the canopy of needle leaves and even those were fuzzy in their appearance.

As a frown graced his face the squire couldn't help but feel sick to his nexus, it was a long drop down and the Pycon knew that if he didn't get down from this precipice he was going to succumb to exhaustion and the painfully agonizing death known as starvation. Looking at the skull Ball frowned and pushed it back away from him. Too heavy to bring... Maybe I will return for it. The squire doubt he was going to return to this vile location ever again. Looking at Thorn Ball sighed, he couldn't possibly take hold of it in his state and survive any sort of fall.

Think squire! How are you going to fall from this cliff side of Hai and survive while bringing along Thorn? Ball's nexus just wasn't thinking clearly, the lack of limbs altered his body mass, with the change in mass Ball's nexus was trying to control parts that were currently not there. He was effectively trying to control phantom limbs, an issue that was causing his mental faculties a bit of distress. Add on the fatigue from battle and being snatched from the ground like a --- Like a mouse... Ball looked at his weapon once more.

Like an eagle snatching a fish in mid-flight. Ball nudged Thorn closer to the long fall downward and once again looked over the edge. Ball once again scoop-kicked the weapon off the edge, the squire watched as he forcefully ejected the weapon into the open sky, watching it twist in the air before gravity caught up with it and Thorn started it's spiraling descent to the forest ground below.

A deep breathe and step back Ball shook his remaining limbs. Stepping forward and pushing off the ground before he could think twice about it the three inch squire sent himself head first over the cliff's edge, following Thorn's descent as it crashed into the canopy of needles.

[Mithryn Outpost - The Fields]Crow Hunting Part IV

Ball's descent was far faster than he expected, he was a dense mass of clay that had no buffer on it speak off, yet during his free fall the Pycon was twisting and tugging and pulling at what remained of his mass. Thorn's crashing through the canopy left little mark of it having happened, yet Ball's caused breaking needles and small twigs snapping off, releasing the pine scent from within as the sap sprayed the pycon.

Now as a sticky film of tree sap clung to his being Ball fought harder to take a form he felt was going to be useful, yet he also had to grab a hold of Thorn... Speaking of Thorn, the metal object was right in front of Ball and the pycon was quickly gaining on it. It wasn't even a full tick away when Ball collided with his lance and his form finally pushed itself outward.

The squire had managed to move his mass around enough to create a thin layer of clay with two spokes of clay radiating from a hin layer of clay surrounding a round structure just underneath. A faint humming sound could be felt if one paid much attention to the soft vibrations of Thorn as it was effectively stuck to the clay and the shaft also had a thin layer of clay surrounding it, even thinner than the layer covering his nexus.

As Ball's thin layer of clay attached by the spokes became impacted by the falling rush of air did the form fully become visible, the pycon had taken on the rough shape of a rectangle made of thin clay, the rough thickness of a flag but nowhere near the dimensions. It was just enough of a change in shape and a thin enough clay formation to provide enough lift to slow down his descent but it was nowhere enough to keep him airborne...

Gritting mouth tightly Ball did his best to swerve past tree branches and trunks as much as his counter-weight (Thorn) would allow him. Yet the clay man had no real control of his movements, let along the direction he was going. So with each rocking movement to dodge trees and their branches the pycon was twisting and twirling himself into a potential chaos of pain... Yet it was a risk he had to take.

Sadly, the impeding doom he wasn't looking forward to was right there, as the pycon tried to rock to the right his falling speed out did his sidewise rocking and the pycon squire found himself smashing into a tree trunk. As his body impacted the form he had taken on crumbled, the front part of the thin layer he was using as an air buffer to provide lift crumbled forward enough to tuck around his nexus, cradling the life, soul, and mind of the pycon as Thorn dislodged itself and fell to the forest floor below.

Without the form he had taken during his fall Ball's body bounced hard off the tree and fell backwards, the last thing Ball recalled before his nexus blacked out to survive, his body pulling tight against it to cushion his impact was the fuzzy needles of the canopy above, the brown strewn needles covering the ground below, and the rough brown bark of the trees all taking their sweet time and place in his field of vision before he landed with a heavy thud in the ground below... Unconscious, his body barely rising in breathe as he laid motionless.
