Vague Babylon 5 reference there and still the best science fiction show ever. There, that should tell you something about me.

I don't know. I'm your average nerd. I like history, I fluently read and write in Nordic runes, I have the Art of War and the Prince on my desk, right next to Nietzsche's complete works. I think David Gemmell is the greatest fantasy writer of all time. I'd nominate Herbert for science fiction, but the later Dune books just get too weird for me.

I'm here because role-playing is my favourite mental exercise and I don't have the time to run weekly groups (though I do have an Ars Magica game in the works that may or may not work). And because I'm currently hospitalized (nothing serious, in fact I might be out tomorrow, but I'm bored out of my skull).

Well I was going to come in and say 'hello, welcome and glad you could join us in Ravok' and all that jazz, but now I'm not so sure...

Everyone knows Stargate is the best sci-fi show ever. Duh :angry:

Stargate I can handle. Especially the later seasons... and Stargate Universe could have been so awesome but did they ever drop that ball. But Babylon 5 has a special place in my heart because of the way it presented itself. Villains with believable motivations for example. That's always a big thing with me. Or just the way everything draws together, past, present and future. I could ramble on the effect it had on me for hours, though I admit it hasn't exactly stood the test of time, especially in the design department. But season 3 and 4 are some of the best TV ever.

I think I played that back in the 90's. And your both wrong. There's so many better series than Stargate or Babylon. Firefly comes to mind.

I can agree with the Dune book and series statement though.
