This forum is an OOC forum for PCS and Organizations to work out plans in hardcopy. Each PC or Organization gets a single thread where their players can help work out plans for their PC. Quests, mini-sagas, and Trips can all be organized here as well working out timelines and points of travel and things PCs need to do along the way. Each PC however gets only one Plotnote for their individual PC. Groups get one as well. There is no limit on individuals posting saga or trip plotnote threads. Please denote [PC Plotnotes] or [Group Plotnotes] or [Quest/Trip/Saga Plotnotes] when titling your threads.

Seasonal Calendar

Seasonal Goals:

✧Tell a story to a Seeker at the Library (True or not)

✧Learn to cook a new recipe

✧Teach a skill to or learn a skill from someone else (With another PC)

✧Get caught doing something embarrassing (With another PC)

✧Gain 5 XP in any one artistic skill of your choice (Painting, drawing, singing, etc.)

✧Visit a location that you haven't yet been to

✧Go shopping for the latest fashions

✧Make and play in a leaf pile (With another PC)

✧Attend the Moon Festival

✧Get into a fight with someone who has gone insane, or while you're insane (With another PC)

City Events of Interest:

3rd: An announcement is made that a strange artifact has previously been discovered by the Constellations on a prior expedition into the Unforgiving. It has been placed on the ground floor of the Twuele, guarded by a Shinya and Constellation at all hours. People who are curious are permitted to examine the artifact for a period of 3 days, after which it will be destroyed.

(Note: I will post a starter to this thread, and if you are interested, you may make a single post where you examine the artifact. Anyone who examines it will be plagued with headaches, aggressive tendencies, and bad luck until the 56th of the season

6th: The artifact is removed from the ground floor of the Twuele, to be destroyed. Later that day, a small explosion can be heard from one of the top floors of the Twuele. The Shinya assure the public that it is nothing to worry about and that nobody was hurt.

56th: Chiona's murder of the Lethaefal seems to have served as some sort of catalyst, and dozens of Lhavitians seemingly go insane the next day, and violence breaks out across the city. The Shinya manage to keep casualties to a minimum and restrain many of those affected; it's discovered that those that were affected had all examined the artifact at one point or another in the season.

(Note: If your PC has previously examined the artifact, on this date they will temporarily go insane until the 59th. How this manifests exactly is up to you.)

59th: The Shinya have calmed things down, and those that went insane seem to finally come to their senses, albeit dazed and exhausted. No longer posing a threat, they are sent home to rest, with some sent to the Catholicon if necessary. Repairs also start on damaged property.

"Possible Character Direction"

 Factions of Interest:

Cytali
 - The Cytali take the search for lost knowledge to a new dimension leaving the anthropology to the explorers and adventurers and instead dig through the Chevena for lost information. Dreamwalkers search the individual Chavi within the Chavena for that which has been lost and learning it first hand from those that know by mining the memories of the past.
 - Nysel god of Dreams, Nightmares, Sleep and the Dreamwalking Gnosis have the ability to tap into the chavi of other people – even strangers – and can then view, insert, or withdraw information according to their own personal desires.

Ruvna
 - The Ruv'na oppose the Cytali and feel the influence of the Gods on Mizahar is too heavy handed. They oppose any interference at all in life on Mizahar by the Deities that occupy Mizahar. To that end the Ruv'na really act like anti-god fanatics and move in any direction they can to thwart divine will.

Seekers
 - The Seekers group of intellectuals dedicated to restoring and maintaining the knowledge of the world. They can be anywhere from scribe to spellsword. They are most renowned for their use of Lykata - the ability to unlock an object's hidden past through its djed.
 - Department of Enterprises are usually the most combat-oriented of the Seekers, as they travel the most often. While members of this department primarily lead expeditions into the wilderness, there are some that actively travel the world in search of rarities, in the hopes of returning them to the library. Their sub-departments are expeditions (short-term projects) and undertakings (long-term projects.)

Magics of Interest:

Spiritism
 - Spiritism can:
1) Evocation is much like Summoning.
2) Dusting is the process by which a ghost is turned to dust. This can be done to get rid of the ghost, or to store them for later use. Dusting deprives ghosts of the ability to reincarnate in the afterlife as long as they remain in a dusted state; for this reason, it is said by many to be an immoral, unethical practice, but still widespread.
3) Soul darts, If a Souldart hits a ghost, not only will it cause it pain and damage, but it may also pin the ghost to a wall or surface. Lesser ghosts can be blocked with a single dart, whereas greater ones can quickly break free and may require three or an entire quiver. Once blocked, the ghost cannot use any of its powers anymore.
4) Possession, Spiritists undergo possession routinely as part of their training. Through this constant exposure to being possessed, they gradually acquire finer control over their state. While at the lower levels the Spiritist can only freeze and prevent the ghost from doing anything with his body, more experienced wizards can share control with the ghost or kick it out at will.
5) The Lie, By smearing Soulmist over his face and deeply concentrating on a name or person, the Spiritist can make ghosts believe he is that person. Similarly, ingesting a tiny amount of Soulmist can make the ghost believe the Spiritist's voice is someone else's.
6) A Spiritist can set boundaries that ghosts will be unable to cross, thus creating safe zones.
7) When Soulmist is smeared over an item or body part of the living, it is quickly absorbed, disappearing from view. The object can then interact with ghosts and ethereal undead for a few hours. Weapons can then wound a ghost, and armor will prevent them from passing through

Auristics
 - Auristics allows the wizard to read - and, at higher levels, interact with - auras. Everything that exists possesses an aura, but sentient creatures have the largest and most complex of all. An aura contains precious information for the Aurist to read; for example, he may be able to establish whether an object is cold or hot without having to touch it. Auristics can be used to find out if someone recently entered a room, or if someone is wounded underneath their clothing. More advanced Aurists can capture the subtle nuances in people's auras, figuring out emotions, worries, expectations. Aurists are also the best at detecting other forms of magic through the auras left by Djed usage.

Gnosis' of Interest:

Lykata
 - Lykata gifted by Eyris Goddess of Wisdom, Knowledge, Learning, History. The people who follow Eyris tend to be naturally gifted with acute clarity of thought, higher intelligence, and a passion for knowledge. They are the questioners, the seekers, the ones who willingly face the truths in the world to overcome ignorance and the lack of skill. These followers often found splinter cells of the Lykata Cult, an organization dedicated to the retrieval and preservation of advanced knowledge.

Lykata: allows them to take an object or thing of any sort and read the past history of that object gaining insight on where it came from, what it’s purpose was, and who crafted or created it. These objects can range from those crafted to those organic - meaning bones, fossils, and even bodily fluids and scat.

Night Stalking
 - Night Stalking gifted by Akajia Goddess of Night, Shadows, Darkness, Secrets, Stealth. Akajia is the awareness of secrets and the queen of shadows. Neither good nor evil, Akajia is perhaps one of the truly neutral goddesses known to Mizahar. Akajia's followers have united into a group known as the Irst ("Irst" means veil in the Ancient Tongue)

Night Stalking: the ability for a user to speak the language of shadows called Makath, communicate with them, and move among them. They suddenly understand that shadows are not simply the absence of light in an otherwise lit space or the rough image cast by an object blocking rays of illumination. Shadows instead become sentient creatures.

Akajia marks followers who have a natural curiosity and a desire to know what others do not want known and admires those that see into the shadows others cast – be they physical ones or shadows cast by misinformation or subterfuge. She marks people that are often fearless and see outside of societies' boxes.

"Lore & Useful Links"

Chaktawe
 - Race page
 - Kalanue
 - Guardian

Gods
 - Makutsi: is the goddess of rain, rivers, water, springs, lakes, and oases. Because she is scarce in the blistering lands, she is all the more precious to the Chaktawe.
Makutsi's Gnosis is Raindancing, allowing the marked one to call forward the rain.

 - Eywaat: is the patron god of inventors. The god of crows, is more of the patron god of the people as he took special care to preserve them through the famine.

Worshipping Eywaat can be through promoting ingenuity in invention and art or treating others (including birds) with the same care and attention Brother Crow shows to his followers. He is an admirer of artisans and will happily reward those who excel in their craft. Ingenuity can also be manifest through survival in adverse lands, such as the desert.

[googlefont=Milonga]8th Summer 517av[/googlefont]

Painted stars danced upon interlocking fingers, obscured by blue flames as they licked towards the sky. “We are with you in the raven…” A Crow Cawed into the black abyss, its wings fluttering, raucously overhead. “When you leave us, you take us.” A knot churned in her gut as a powerful wave of melancholy sunk her spirits. “When you walk alone we follow…” Sagacious eyes peering intensely at her through wispy, violet plumes demanded her gaze. “Take no path that would turn you from honour.” Her heart pitter-pattered within her breast. “For when you turn aside, we all do." Shadowy pillars lined behind her, opening a never-ending corridor; guiding the way, leading her away from the comforting cloak of familiarity. Suddenly, from out of the void, his frozen fingers cupped her wet cheeks longingly, bringing her forehead to his; she could feel his ragged breath upon her skin, “What. Do. You. Seek? Seek? Seek? Seek?"

* * *

Alethia gasped as she jolted awake. The haunting voice of her father echoed disturbingly through her ears; the word “seek” reverberating around her skull. She clung to her blanket as the lingering ghost of the dream slowly ebbed away, all the while tears created rivulets through the grime covering her cheeks. It took a moment for her awakening mind to realise it had escaped from the realm of sleep. It took a moment to overcome the heart-breaking realisation that she could only feel her Father’s touch in her dreams.

Cocooned softly, if uncomfortably, in blanket and coat alike, her body still shivered in the night; protruding rocks and lumpy grassy knolls digging into her back. As her inky gaze easily traced the silhouettes of rolling steppes in the distance through her open tent flap, she realised the night was almost over and dawn was coming.

Wiping away her salty tears with the heel of her hand, Alethia hauled herself up and threw away her blanket, bringing her knees to her chest as the last words of her people resonated now more soothingly in her roused mind, “We are with you in the raven, in our gods, in our wisdom. When you leave us, you take us. When you walk alone we follow. So take no path that would turn you from honour. For when you turn aside, we all do."  She repeated those words in her mind every morning. It gave her comfort to know that despite being momentarily banished from her Tribe, her home – they were still with her in spirit.

As memory corrected the voice she had heard in her dream, she recalled it was in fact Wayhali Ahanu, not her Father, whom had posed the vital question, “What do you seek? What do you bring to your searching?” Her heart ached in sorrow. It should have been her Father.

Perhaps the loss of her only parent mere seasons before her searching was to begin, was a test? Was it a sign that it was time for her to leave her Tribe? How could she, when the Kalanue were as much her family as her Father had been. How could she abandon them forever, to walk the Burning Lands alone?

Unity and Bravery - Chaktawe Values above all else; her own values above all else. She yearned to remain by their side, but was she brave enough to give up her dreams of adventure? Exploring the world in search of her Guardian was her only hope for finding the direction, she so desperatly craved, in her life.
