Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

50th of Fall 517 A.V.

Aliana walked into Larrisa's room with a soft smile as the child cooed up at her. She picked the little one up and moved over to the changing table. Making a face the mother was still surprised by the smells that came form the tiny human child. The child had started to look so much like her father, the petching Vantha. If he ever returned, the woman planned to break his legs for just leaving her alone in a place where she knew no one else. Shaking her head, she tried to focus on what was happening before accidentally sticking her daughter again. It had happened several times when the small child got excited towards the end of being changed and would begin to kick her legs. Holley had began putting her on her stomach in the office while the Isur worked. She was slowly beginning to figure out how to crawl over to Ink and pull on his ears.

“Okay sweet girl almost done,” Aliana said with a soft voice.

Nothing else about the self made Isur was soft, but when it came to her child there was a distinct difference. Walking over to her chest, the woman took out some clothes that were appropriate for the out of season weather that was still bothering everyone. It should have been cooling off a preparing for Morwen's arrival, but after the Goddess refused to come last winter everything became thrown off. Looking over at the big black dog, the woman wondered how he was fairing with all the heat. The mother made a note while getting the child dressed to take a trip out to the sanctuary. She had not been out there much after having her little one or buying the big canine. Aliana figured that the Konti would like to see the pair and make sure both were doing well. The Isur was still uncomfortable going to see a healer after everything had happened before Larrisa's birth.

“Okay big girl time to eat,” the mother said and put the girl up in a high chair with a smile before putting a bottle of milk before her.

Larrisa squealed and worked on figuring out how to hold the bottle while her mother went to get dressed for the day. The woman could not remember any specific orders that needed to be done, so she planned to just show her apprentice how to repair different weapons that had been brought in. It was not often that the girl would trade out a broken weapon for a new one. Unless there was a good reason, the woman often gave the new weapon at a slightly lower price. Most of the older metal that came in was used as material to repair smaller cracks and breaks in weapons. Picking up the little one once she had began drinking the bottle, the woman grabbed her bag making sure there was enough stuff to tend to Larrisa in the bag. Keys jangled as she walked out the door and allowed the big bruiser of a dog to follow her out. Closing and locking the door, the group was off to the forge for the day.

General Repairs

Aliana walked out of her apartment with daughter and dog in tow. The young Isur still had so much to do at the forge, but it mostly seemed to be repairing a few of the blades. There were several trying to warp or that had hairline cracks in them. She was more concerned with the cracks than the warp; though it could be just as devastating to a blade. A warp would cause the blade to roll in the wielder’s hand. If it rolled the fighter would be left often for an attack from the enemy. All the blades had to be perfect no matter what happened. The business owner would allow nothing else to leave her shop. Her name and craftsmanship was on the line every time an item was bought.

“I hope those cracks come out,” Aliana whispered and waved to her two workers.

The woman unlocked the door and went to put Larissa in her play pen for the morning. She left the door unlocked but closed it so that no one would just walk inside. The woman heard her assistant slide open the double doors leading to the forge. The girl was not worried in the least about making sure the man did what he was supposed to do. He knew the routine of cleaning out most of the coals while leaving just enough to get the fire going good. She walked in while rolling her sleeves so that it was easier for her to work. Grabbing a string, the girl tied them into rolled material on her shoulders so that they would not fall and get caught on fire. Wiping her forehead already, the woman could not believe it was fall.

The weather still screamed summer, she was not sure what possessed Morwen to stay within her home land; but she was pissed about it. A loud giggling could be heard before the office where Larissa was more than likely playing with Ink. The young mother was still learning how to be soft when it came to her daughter. She had not had a chance to go and see Kavala again much after buying Ink and having her child. The woman needed to take the time and go see the konti and let her see how big Larissa had become. The child was almost a year old now and seemed to be doing very well. Aliana would take her to the healer to get checked out, but she often refused a check up for herself. The Konti had helped her relax around some healers, but the girl still had reservations about herself.

“Hey, boss. You okay?” the young man asked looking over at her.

“Huh? Oh yeah, sorry I guess I got distracted. Go ahead and start the fire in the forge,” Aliana stated shaking her head trying to focus. The woman was finding it harder and harder to focus on the task at hand with her work.
