She allowed his touch, holding still but watching his eyes closely. It seemed he found nothing odd about her eyes to earn a remark. Either he already knew she was Dhani or he didn't mind slitted pupils. Perhaps he thought she was some Kelvic serpent runt. Easy prey those ones were. Dhani were so much stronger than them. She didn't know what to make of his statement. Her eyes saw considerably different than a human's in a certain form, but they weren't powerful. She had the ability to pierce the shadows with her eyes, to see under the cowl of his hood to that most alluring smile there. She could have fun with this human if he wanted her. He'd make a good, dangerous playmate.

Goose bumps rose on her arms as his hands slid down them, the touch not something she was accustomed to from a man who had just grabbed her shoulders. Most men went for the full frontal grab, which would have been annoying had they not become her food or toys afterwards. He tilted her chin, and she still held her eyes on his. Hypnotism had failed, but the Dhani was under the impression that intent could be read in one's eyes. She wanted to know when he'd hurt her. Anticipation of the pain would make it hurt all the more, and she was certain her shadows would be pleased if the blood given them was her own.

He stepped back, and Annassena remained where she was. Her tongue ran across her lips habitually and she couldn't help but smile at his request. She'd have prey. A toy thing. A play mate. Perhaps she could impress him with her cunning. But as he added his requirement, she lifted her pale eyebrows before her smile widened. She watched for a moment as he mad that res become hard, her eyes glittering with desire for the knowledge of how to make rocks with mist. They flicked up to his briefly and she nodded, bending her body into a bow. "Will you conceal yourssself in the darknessss for me, Eryssss? If the one I bring should sssee you and grow angry, I would hardly be hisss firssst target." She didn't state this over particular worry for him. She essentially didn't want him to ruin her hunt.

With that she loped out of the alley and into the street, first disappearing into the people walking as she sought a man she felt Eryss would like for her to retrieve. Green eyes scanned faces in the moving masses, flickering with dismissal over ones she deemed too small and meek. Eryss had demanded a man considerably larger than her, which wasn't hard in this form. Even now she was drawing eyes, and instinctively she adjusted her top to reveal more of her cleavage to the world. Her display caught the attention of a beefy man lurking in the door of an establishment of questionable reputation. He caught her eye, and with a sly wink she turned and began to lead this mammoth among cows to where she hoped Eryss would have remained to wait for her. She didn't bother to see if the man was following. Experience had shown her that men would follow a pretty woman anywhere, and here in Sunberth was that the most true.

She turned the corner into the alley, her eyes scanning for the presence of the man she had left as the one she was leading loomed up behind her. He was easily over 300 pounds, mostly muscle but with a considerable belly that stated he mostly worked out these days in a bar. Big and brutish. Hopefully a man that would help Annassena bring Eryss' approval.
"You ever feel the prickly things on the back of your neck?"
"Yes."
"And the tiny hairs on your arm, you know when they stand up? That's them."

[He had noticed her eyes, the slits, but as she had surmised Eryss merely reasoned that she was either a Kelvic runt or, more likely, a Dhani. Of course he had never met a Dhani before but she had many serpentine qualities that set her apart from the way she habitually licked her lips to her slitted eyes and all the way down to her manner of speech. Annassena, according to Eryss, bore many of the traits one might have come to expect from a Dhani and though his assumptions were stereotypical he had nothing to prove him wrong up though it was somewhat doubtful Annassena knew that she was being studied and stereotyped throughout their conversation.]

[When Annassena made her request Eryss offered a vague smile from beneath the cover of his hood and answered...”I will.”...agreeing to conceal himself so that when she returned with her prey he would not be alarmed by the presence of the Mage. As Annassena left Eryss was watching her, closely, and waiting until she rounded the corner to select her victim and then after she was out of sight he’d move closer to where she had left her crossbow. Appraising it, Eryss was not schooled in the use of these sorts of weapons, he would lean down and pick it up in his hand. Holding the crossbow closer to himself he would study it and the inner workings of its mechanisms.]

[His eyes travelled over the crossbow. He saw that it was actually quite the advanced piece of equipment. It didn’t take him long to understand the basic mechanics of the bow. Eryss surmised that a bolt could be loaded into the bow and that the bowstring, held back by a lock, would wait in place until the trigger on the underside of the bow was released sending the bolt shooting towards its target. Quite ingenious in his opinion. Of course he also considered that a drawback of the crossbow must be that it took longer to load but without practical experience he had no idea. Handling the bow he tested its weight as well.]

[Taking his time inspecting the crossbow Eryss would finally turn and move deeper into the alleyway so that when Annassena returned he would be hidden as she had asked of him. Bringing the crossbow with him he would set it down behind a pile of garbage so that it was out of sight and then, with only the stone ball he had created left in his hands, continue on his way into the darkness. Walking further into the alley Eryss would use the natural darkness of this environment to his advantage and move until he was well away from the mouth of the alley, when he’d moved a sufficient distance he would crouch down as well making himself a smaller target and harder to notice, then all that remained was for him to wait.]

[He needn’t wait long though as Annassena returned soon after he had hidden himself at a distance. When she reappeared he wouldn’t have been surprised if she noticed him or at least his outline but the man would likely have had more difficulty doing so and he was also distracted. As the large man loomed behind Annassena Eryss would remark quietly to himself that she certainly had chosen a big one but he remained outwardly quiet. He anticipated that the small girl must have been quite skilled if she planned on pummelling the large man but he made no assumptions otherwise, maybe she merely wished to seduce him and Eryss would be forced to watch a moments worth of debauchery before intervening when he tired of the show.]

[Of course her choice of victim did meet the approval of Eryss though.]

[Breathing slowly he would tilt his head to the side as he watched. Wondering if Annassena had banked on her bow waiting for her during her return he took mild amusement in the idea that he could have inconvenienced her and made this trial more difficult. However, looking at her closely from where he made himself small and inconspicuous Eryss had also come to the conclusion that her talents did not lie with the bow. Maybe the two of them would play as well if she proved to be a valuable asset to him in the future. First things first though.]

Annassena had to admit that the disappearance of her crossbow brought some merit to the occasion. It made her smile, but it also ensured her prey wouldn't become suspicious with an unguarded weapon laying around. The darkness breathed around where Eryss had hidden, shadows departing from nearby walls to watch now, anticipating the blood that was to come. Excitement thrummed through Annassena, and her mind instinctively disregarded Eryss as prey as she turned to her giant. She smiled and swallowed back her accent's sibilance as she began to circle him in an appraising manner.

"Why does it stink like petchin' burnin' garbage?" The man's voice was baritone and coarse with use of yelling at others. Annassena only smiled slightly.

"Gets rid of the smell," she said quietly, standing before him again. Now, her mind remembered Eryss and she hoped he enjoyed the show. While she didn't know he was speculating on her race, she would soon demonstrate it. She couldn't hope to kill the man bare handed without a racial upper hand, after all. "Turn around. I've found that people enjoy it more when they see the whole woman at once instead of seeing bits and pieces of her as she undresses." Her accent was about to slip, but she didn't need much time.

Her green eyes flicked to the living shadows and a much more predatory smirk crossed her lips as she addressed them in a softly spoken Makath. "When I tell him to turn, cover his eyes for me and I'll give you every drop of his blood." Her voice had lowered with a hint of seduction for the shadows. She knew how they liked blood and wine.

The man turned his back, a chuckle of expectant pleasure grunting passed his lips. Annassena made stripping go fast, unable to be anything but impatient for the taste of blood on a forked tongue and the dimming of colors as heat fled a dying body. When she was naked, her skin pale even in the darkness, she asked the man to turn and her own transformation began. Bones snapping and fusing, legs winding into a long tail, body growing stronger as she became a true Dhani.

Her body was longer now, stronger than the average human by a good amount, her torso remaining human but her head that of a snake's with her legs making up the bulk of her length as her tail. Her shadows, right on cue, snaked around the man's eyes and he clawed at the invisible blindfold with an angry shout as she snapped forward, her tail having been taut and coiled. She hit his body full on, coiling her tail around it and hissing as his hands came to clamp around it, bruising her skin, but she still managed to plunge her long fangs into the back of his neck as her arms wrapped around him.

It would seem as though they were in an embrace, even though they were crushing eachother as she poisoned him. Her arms remained around him even as he eventually began to falter. The shadow blindfold was a distraction, her grip was on par with his, and her venom was quick acting as it flooded his blood uncured. Eventually, he stumbled and fell back and she released him to allow his blood to flow freely. Her shadows and the ones that had joined from the alley immediately flooded the blood and she remained near him, flicking her tongue as she recovered her strength. The man had hurt her more than she had intended, and bruises would cover her midsection by the time they settled in. Still, it was worth it.

Now she looked around for Eryss as she began to return to her human form. The scars and the triangle tattooed on her back would become less prominent on the skin of the human than they were on the skin of the half-human, half-snake.

She found him by his body heat until her eyes became human. Then she could see him just barely by the shadows, his form hunched into a small ball. She hoped he had been pleased by her performance, although she expected mistrust due to the nature of her race. Dhani were usually known as walking stomachs and Eryss was a much more suitable meal than a massive man. She wouldn't eat him though.

oocI'm sorry if this post sucks or is a bit choppy. @-@ Tried making it realistic, hahaha.

[Watching from where he had positioned himself further back in the darkness of the alley Eryss had assumed Annassena would know his whereabouts on a hunch, she seemed to have known many things though he wasn’t entirely certain why this was yet, he saw her leading the large man into the alley when he commented on the smell. Lifting his hand Eryss would stifle a small chuckle at the man’s statement before folding it back across one of his thighs while he waited for the scenario between predator and prey to commence. Hidden as he was Eryss had made himself appear smaller by crouching down though something about him remained slightly on edge, if Annassena did not kill the man outright or he escaped it might be up to Eryss to snuff him out where the small woman had failed, however for the moment he remained optimistic.]

[Wise that she had the larger man turn around though Eryss was mildly surprised he did it, likely to entertain the small creature he thought he would soon be taking into a lewd embrace, though it would ultimately spell his doom. As Annassena began to change some of Eryss view was obstructed by the size of the larger man but he heard bones cracking and saw how her legs began to fuse together and soon after she had struck out at her quarry. Impressive he had thought when he seen her transformation but even now that she had taken on a different appearance Eryss questioned whether or not she could handle the man she had lured into her clutches, he was quite bigger than average.]

[As Annassena shouted, something he couldn’t understand, and the shadows enveloped the eyes of her prey Eryss was nodding though, a deep smile playing over his features when he heard the large man cry out, she played to her strengths which was tactically wise. Looking at her as she hurled herself onto the man and let her under half curl around him before sinking her fangs into his neck Eryss nodded again, she was a Dhani now he knew it in his bones, and when the large mans hands came up to grip her by the throat he knew that Annassena may have had a fight on her hands. He remained crouched though, observing from a distance, as the both of them entered a dance of life and death; concerned for neither of them as he was convinced that if Annassena failed her then she was not a worthy candidate.]

[The struggle seemed to be short lived though. Annassena would emerge the victor after the man’s body failed him and he slumped dead. He fell backwards and onto the ground where he lay still, unmoving, and it was over.]

[Standing from where he had been concealing himself, crouched down and near a wall, Eryss would begin to move closer once more while Annassena took a human shape once more. His eyes playing over her nude body as he drew closer to her until his outline became a figure that she could easily make out and he was seen looking between her and the corpse she had left on the alley floor. Holding the stone ball that he had made Eryss would toss it up into the air and then catch it as it came down into his hands again, he did this several times in fact, then he would toss it over to Annassena expecting her to catch it while he continued to admire her small frame full of ample curves and toned physique.]

[When he had looked at her for an appropriate amount of time he would eventually remark...”Impressive, Dhani.”...signifying that he understood her nature now and had concluded what she was. In a way he found it quite alluring to meet one of the Dhani though he knew better then to let emotions or excitement get the better of him. “You’ve done well Annassena. However I am not the only one you must impress. There are others.”...he would go on telling her that he was not the only one, a bit dramatic since she still did not know that Eryss himself was the head of the organization she sought to join, though it was at least in part the truth.]

[Moving closer to her then Eryss would begin to circle around her, slowly, once he was within arms reach and outstretching one of his arms he would place it on the back of her shoulder. While she was naked he could every nuance of her body and he inspected it closely from the mark that she bore to the scars that travelled across her flesh. Once his hand had settled over her shoulder for a long enough time he’d let it drift lower, his fingers tracing themselves across her until she could feel them reaching for her backside, and then they would drift away as he completed his circle and came back around to stand in front of her again.]

[Now that he had seen her potential, along with everything else she had to offer, Eryss would recognize her talent more freely and state...”You have taken the first steps. You are of the Crimson Edge Annassena but only its lowest rungs. Work and personnel achievement will decide whether you are capable of advancing or not.”...the message being somewhat rhetorical carried with it a decisive meaning; succeed and she would be rewarded, fail and she would likely die. Tilting his head to the side Eryss went on to add...”There are men you should seek; Cade and Antar are their names. Impress them as you have me.”...they would both have jobs for Annassena to complete and when she had done this she would likely come back to me where we would have a lengthy discussion regarding my next task for her. Until then I was readily looking forward to hearing how she would progress, whether or not I thought she would succeed was inconsequential though.]
