Left to wander [OPEN]

Puapa remained crouched, the flint and steel finding spark. It was not long before he had a small fire in its infancy. He left the vigil in order to crouch to it, seeming to worship the live giver, second only to water. His breaths fueled the growing flame as it took to the kindling.Slowly he arranged the fuel for a long, slow burn. Once satisfied, he returned to the rock's edges, now slowly warming with the ambient heat of flame. He kept his profile low, so as not to cast a shadow to Karasu's quarry, whatever it was. His tongue crept along his lips as his desire turned from mating to hunger. While the Chaktawe could go for a long time without water, food was another story.

His discernment was also serious as well as full of hormones. He wanted to be sure she had some skill. Wearing weapons hardly made one worthy. She had been nearly dead not so long ago. Her skills would make her worth her weight in water, her looks were just a bonus. He watched her hunch over track, his eyebrows perching as he soon scanned the horizon himself. With only starlight and the distracting firelight, it was all scrub and shadow to him. He turned on occasion to feed the flame.

Turning back, he could see her lifting her hand, using her sense to feel the presence of movement. With a stiff headwind, Puapa didn't know if it would do much good, but he gave it a go too, extending his arms out, palms together to cup and resonate more vibratory sensations. The two of them stayed that way for some time. Until he could hear a warbling laugh, somewhere on the wind. Only one thing made that sound. His hand gripped the shaft of his spear, though he let her do the hunting.
