Private Lab 7-G (Research of Life and Death)

Located on the 7th floor from the top of the Gug Andjak, Lab 7-G is home to none other than Trellaway Witsle, a nuit whose name is either connected with awe and inspiration, or fear and terror. The lab itself can be found along with all the other private labs on the 7th level, nestled in a corner to itself. The door is nothing special, simple hard wood with faded white paint. Upon the wood there is a golden plaque which denotes it as Lab 7-G, Research of Life and Death.

The door leads to a small room about five strides from wall to wall, a single chair sits in the center bolted to the floor. Strong leather straps on the arms and legs, as well as the back of the chair, quickly reveal the purpose of the sitting device. Two doors lead off to either side of the main room. The left leads to what appears to be a miniature green house. Plants in pots sit about the room upon tables, the floor, desks and even in the chairs. Books of herbology and plants in general sprawled about. The wall of this room are painted a dark green, and a strange orange glow fills the room from a gem fixed into the ceiling. The right door leads to a small room of faded gray. chains hang from the ceiling, the walls and are attached to the floor. A simple bed is pushed to the far wall, and harnesses are made into the frame to keep its bearer from moving.

Witsle came to Sahova after the Citadel post Valterrian seeking a way to bring his lover back from the grave. His grief over his dead wife drove him nearly insane, and almost committed suicide himself. However, he learned of the long whispered about Isle of the dead where ancient and powerful magics were practiced, and without a moment's hesitation he set out for what he hoped would be an answer to his plight. Sadly this was never to be, for the nuits of Sahova quickly took advantage of his shattered heart and tricked him into giving away his life for an eternity of researching into the mysterious nature of death.

For a time Witsle apprenticed under Mistress Wanda, the Witch of the Courtyard, and from her he learned the secrets of Spiritsm and Ghosts. Taking the knowledge that he learned from her, Witsle then took the next step and obtain the power of the one true deadly magic, leeching. With its mastery Witsle now works to uncover what it is that happens to the spirit when death approaches. Often he will suck the life from whomever or whatever he holds imprisoned in his lab just to observe their dyeing moments, looking for that one moment, that one instance when the true nature of death would be revealed to him.

Because of the strain of leaching Trellaway's bodies are often sickly and decrepit looking. He walks with a hunched shuffle, his feet scraping the ground as he murmurs soft words of his dead wife absently to himself while he works. Though he is considered a Master in Sahova, Witsle does not bother with the formal robes of his position, preferring the peasant clothes he wore while still alive. Some say that he is the most powerful leacher Sahova has to offer, though none would think to compare him to Lector Qiao. At least not in a way that might raise the Council Members anger.
