A half-collapsed city of alabaster and gold fiercely governed by Eypharians. Even partially ruined, it is the crown of the desert and a worthy testament to old glories and rising powers.

Spring, 53rd, 513AV

The wind was howling outside the Tavern. People were laughing talking about nothing important. Bailona heard two couples not to far from her, more like screwing each other than making out. Bailona was in the corner of the tavern, basically in the shadows of the bar, drinking a nice cool ale. she had a few men trying to take her home with them, but turned them down... If they found out she was a Dhani they would freak out.

Bailona right now was focused on the drink in her hand and not any one else. Hmm... Nice and relaxing!! She almost felt human for that spilt second... Then a scent that will NEVER soon forget her. On my mother's grave what the hell!! it was a Dhani walking through the tavern. Bailona would be happy... if it were a Viper coming in. Bailona was quite on edge, she felt like bitting the Constrictor several times. But it was only natural to feel that way, thats how they were built... Wasn't it?

Fine until a Constrictor walks in! {Ssynareis}

OOCYou might want to put a timestamp at the top

Ssynareis snorted at the rather motley bunch assembled in the Scorched Skull this day. This den of ill repute was not a place that the constrictor frequented, for rather obvious reasons. Not only was it rather ugly to look upon, a surprise considering the Eypharian obsession with beauty, but the patrons were all of... questionable repute. It was rare to find an Eypharian or Dhani here, mostly it was the lesser races that scurried about here, further dirtying the place up.

The Constrictor was dressed in her usual clothing of a sleeveless robe, a sheath underneath that and leather sandals. Her dark hair was unbound for the night, framing her exotic features. Her narrow dark green eyes scanned over the establishment, searching for a place to sit down. She was, of course, armed with her two scimitars, Fang and Venom. One did not descend into the lower part of Ahnatep society without being properly armed.

The serpent quickly crossed the tavern floor, glaring at any who stood between her and a small empty table off to the side. Ssynareis sat down, leaned back slightly and started tonight's activity with a cross of her arms. If she were to hope to join the Jackals she needed to hone her none combative skills, namely information gathering.

Her eyes and ears were open, however this was proving to be much more difficult than was first anticipated. As soon as she managed to focus on one thing, a distraction popped up out of no where. She couldn't even get bits and pieces of info, no matter how meaningless. She was not looking for anything important, that was why this was an exercise.

Her vision was always blocked by this stupid drunk or that one, which was so infuriating that Ssynareis wanted to toss the fools across the room.

The tall woman took a deep breath.

Remain calm Ssynareis, this requires patience, She told herself in an attempt to calm her nerves.

As she attempted the information gathering experiment again she noticed something out of the corner of her eye, someone was watching her. The serpent focused all of her attention to that area, not looking straight at the person, but more of an awkward sideways glance.

The person was definitely female and rather short from what she could make out. One thing was for certain, the look she was giving her was certainly not friendly.

Fine until a Constrictor walks in! {Ssynareis}

Bailona wanted to leave, she couldn't see though and all her focus was on that Dhani and if it wasn't she would sense her way out of here. She wanted to turn so badly that she almost broke her cup. Bailona tried to focus not on that Constrictor over in the other side of the room. She felt the Vibrations leading to the entrance. Bailona got up and walked towards the door. The fresh air hit her face, once out the door she felt very relieved to be out of there, but if that Dhani noticed her... Then she would follow maybe.

Bailona was ready for anything, but she remember she had a job to do, she had to kill someone... It's what she was getting payed for any ways she walk to the nicer parts of Ahnatep. But the stink of Constrictor was still in her nostrils, she hissed silently to herself.

Of the many lessons her mother had taught her, one stuck out the most, identify potential threats quickly. The woman had been in a hurry to leave, which might mean she noticed Ssynareis looking at her or simply that she had learned what she had needed to. The question now was, why had the woman been so interested in her specifically. It was certainly one worth asking her erstwhile watcher, preferably in an alleyway with few witnesses.

The Dhani stood and carefully made her way out of the tavern, trying to make her movements as subtle as possible. She was not made for stealth, it simply was not her strong suit but it never hurt to at least try to use some caution. Something about the woman had seemed... odd when she moved, a strange quick fluidity of motion that most humans seemed to lack. It was very suspicious to say the least but Ssynareis couldn't quite put her finger on what the woman was.

As she exited she managed to catch a glimpse out of the corner of her eye at the woman, so she followed as silently and in as non-descript a manner as possible. It was difficult to trail her, tracking was also something that Ssynareis was unfamiliar with, at least in her human form. However the tall woman managed to keep the other woman in her sights and made certain to stay a little ways behind her at all times.

This was actually a little exciting, it was a rare hunt in the middle of Ahnatep where her prey was more skilled than she was in matters of evasion. From the route her quarry seemed to be taking it looked like they were headed to the nicer part of the city, why there was anyone's guess.

Bailona stopped for a moment sensing the ground, there wa people movement and one movement that was pacing to keep up with her. It stop just after she did, "May I help you?" Bailona felt the vibration coming to her after she spoke, she body was still and relaxed, her head faced down to not to look at the Constrictor, but it's not like she could see it anyways. Her breath, stillness was a bit eerie and would make someone tense. Bailona didn't have any thoughts in her head, she felt the air warming up. The sun must be coming out was the only thing ringing in her head.

Her hair was pulled back, muscles were relaxed, bones, and her thoughts. Bailona was surprised how relaxed she was. It almost look like she was sleeping up side down.

Fine until a Constrictor walks in! {Ssynareis}

Postby Ssynareis on May 5th, 2013, 5:23 pm

Ssynareis was actually very surprised to hear the short woman use the Snake Tongue, it confirmed that she was most likely a Viper. This brought a whole host of questions to her mind. Why was a Viper spying on her in a tavern? Was she sent by the nest to keep an eye on her? She was fairly certain that she hadn't done anything to offend the Vipers since she had presented herself to their queen about a month back.

The Constrictor cautiously approached the Viper, knowing full well the treacherous nature of the smallest of the Dhani. Their venom and speed was very potent, Ssynareis was confident that she could over power the Viper if it came down to it but hopefully that wouldn't be necessary. She couldn't afford to anger the Viper Queen so far from her own nest.

The Snake Tongue was awkward to use in human form, human mouths didn't possess the necessary pieces to properly use the language. Still it was not impossible and it was important that she keep some cold politeness when interacting with the Vipers, they might be less favored by Siku but they held some power in Ahnatep.

"Greetingsss, Viper, I wasss unaware that I was tailing a... fellow Dhani. My apologiesss." Ssynareis said, her human mouth awkwardly forming the correct words with some difficulty.

The words were extremely unpleasant to choke out, by all rights this Viper should have been apologizing to her for daring to intrude upon her exercise in the tavern. She was the lesser Dhani, not Ssynareis. Unfortunately, common sense dictated that she handle this diplomatically.

"Why were you ssspying on me in the tavern? Have I done sssomething to incur the ire of your queen?" The Constrictor asked, though it was really more of a demand for information in the way it was worded.

Fine until a Constrictor walks in! {Ssynareis}

Postby Bailona on May 5th, 2013, 7:03 pm

Bailona perked her head up quickly. Not what I was expecting at all!? Bailona never heard of a Constrictor being so... Well nice you could say, her mode changed dramatically from angry and aggression to happy. She smiled, "Greetingsss to you to Conssstrictor. No you didn't have to apologizsse," Bailona was now quite relaxed all the tension was gone, "Im sssory for being rude and ssspying on you at the tavern." Bailona paused, "I always heard of Conssstrictorss being... Well nasssty and arrogant out of the Dhani." Bailona lest saying she was blind because then the Dhani would get ideas maybe..

Fine until a Constrictor walks in! {Ssynareis}

Nasty and arrogant, I could say the same of the Vipers, Ssynareis thought, the short meeting with the Viper Queen still fresh in her mind.

Wisely the Constrictor kept her opinions to herself, no reason to become openly hostile when the Viper was clearly warming up to her quickly. Instead she inclined her head to the other Dhani, a slight sign of respect that threatened to fill her mouth with bile. Was this what she had been reduced to? Kowtowing to a Viper of all things, oh the shame of it all.

"I have heard sssimilar rumorsss of the Vipersss, good to sssee that they are... unfounded." Ssynareis said in response.

It would seem by her words that this particular Viper had not been sent by the queen to keep tabs on her, which was quite the relief all things being told. Such a thing would have been... problematic at best. The last thing she needed was to be watched by the Vipers of all things while in Ahnatep. I just seemed like this Viper recognized a constrictor and opted to keep a weary eye on her, a smart move all things being told.

Ssynareis smiled slightly, "In any event, I am called Sssynareisss, Conssstrictor of Zinrah. Who do I have the current... pleasssure to addresss?"

She was still weary of the Viper, but the other Dhani seemed to be less hostile now. It might be a good idea to know someone from the Viper nest here in Eyktol.

"Well it could havve been a lot worssse," the sun was getting alittle higher now, Bailona new she needed to go soon but hated to be rude to SSynaris. "You may callss me Bailona," She bowed her head a little to show respect, But what brings thisss Constrictor to Ahnatep? I thought they were more for forests like some where in Falyndar?? she didn't want to ask, the Dhani may thing she's fishing for answers and Bailona could ended being squishy food for crows. The thought of Squishy food made her discussed, she didn't like her food squished and floppy. Bailona thought it was unnatural, well for her it was.
