Day 10, Autumn, 514 AV

Location: The Foundation

Pain… It coursed throughout her body, her face was mostly black, blue and purple from her confrontation with the stranger. Her ribs hurt like all hell, but the one thing that had really torn at the woman, had been the loss of her right eye. She had been in and out of her unconscious state for a couple of days after the event and Redd had been sure that it was because of the simple fact that she had been in shock. Although she didn’t know how long that normally lasted, nor did it really matter to her if she hadn’t been. Perhaps it was just her body getting used to the absence of her missing right eye. Bandages had been wrapped around her head and they covered that eye socket so then it would heal relatively clean. She didn’t even remember much about the visit to The Healing Hand, for she had pretty much been out of it for the walk there and back. Arienette had laid her down upon her very own bed, but Redd didn’t want to be a burden, nor did she want to rest upon a bed that she felt was unnatural. So she had taken up residence within the room where it had all happened, of course she left whenever Miro needed the room, but whenever she could, she laid within it.

The other slave had told her that she was under strict instructions not to shift, to not use her wolf form, other-wise the healing process would take longer. How long, she didn’t really know, but at least she could spend longer hours being more awake. Her one eye had been staring at the spot by the door, the scene replaying over and over within her mind. The fresh pain as it stabbed its way throughout her body and every time that she reviewed it, the more that she set her heart upon the dark road of revenge. No longer did she cared if she couldn’t fit into the box that the people of Ravok wanted her to, for she was a wolf, a beast in their eyes. She had tried to be normal, but they kept slamming her differences into her face, so now she would be just as they described. From now on, she would stalk the streets, instead of keeping her head down and wishing that she could be just like them. For she now realized, that she never did want to be like them, fickle in their nature, promising one thing only to do another. Redd had had enough, from now on, unless it was her Master’s orders, she would not hide her face, she would stop pretending to be human.

A scoff fell upon her lips as she turned her gaze away from the spot that reminded her of the event so then she could stare up at the roof above her head, the man’s blue gaze clear within her mind. She would kill him, no she wouldn’t make him suffer like he had made her, for it would only allow him to come back and exact his own revenge. No, she would kill him and devour him, because she wanted to. It was the only thing that she would go against her Master to do, if it meant that she would taste the blood of the one that stole her eye. A soft growl fell across her lips as she slipped her legs off of the couch, a pained expression crossing her features as she twisted to place them upon the floor so then she could seat herself upon the couch. Redd had lived to simply please her Master, but now, she lived not only for revenge, but to hunt and kill. She would embrace the beast that she was and she would train herself to become a feared killer, but her first task was to heal and become accustom to her missing eye.

The wolfband removed, Venser Rush had clarity of mind to consider what he had done. He did not regret it in the slightest, for the Rush twin had learned much and gotten away with an eye that he could learn to utilize with Zapatl. He was, however, astonished. He had created a Legacy quite capable of warping the human mind to the point that one became a vicious, destructive bane of existence. It was a stark alteration from what the Rush twin had been, though if he considered it closely, it was not necessarily aggression that it amplified.

Ambition.

Ambition had seized control of his mind, Venser becoming a slave not to his rage but to his desires. If rage invaded his desire, then it won, but rage was not necessarily the enemy. Stuck again in the room that he so hated, broken and beaten as it was, Venser elected to stay in it, for his mind was not quite in the condition to go about and meander about the city. Still he felt the severe bite of fear upon his dreams as he tried to rest. He felt the tiredness of his body as his mind was kept awake by the force of the aura upon his mind. While the aura in it of itself was not spectacularly powerful, the scar it left was accented by Karn. The familiar was a complete wildcard. A mind as sharp as Venser's own with a bite upon his words that Venser could not quite compare to. It scathed him to have to co-habitate with him, for while Venser needed to sleep, Karn did not. The being kept him awake as his thoughts gravitated, it lectured and assaulted his thoughts, labeling them as inferior.

It was treatment that Venser was not used to receiving, but quite used to giving. A smirk materialized upon the Rush twin's lips as he sat up on his broken bed, sunken in towards the floor, his feet elevated above his head due to the frame's new shape.

"You believe me to be weak, Karn? I recall you speaking differently when the blood of the Diverse was upon my hands. You think me to be your inferior, then attempt to strike me down. Even in this condition I will not be known as your weaker. You speak with a grandeur better fitting of your previous body, I laid witness to before our bond. Yet, in this bond, you have been defeated. You are mine, familiar. You will know your place just as that Kelvic knows hers."

A laugh echoed through Venser's mind as the Kirt sat upon the Rush twin's legs. Its natural form, that of a slightly iridescent, stone-skinned frog. Deeply laid into the stone were metallic ores that rose upon the rest of its form as nubs, the frog agile despite what it seemed to be made of, moving quickly along Venser's leg to stare the Rush twin straight in the eyes. While Karn's expression was quite unreadable due to his amphibian-seeming face, his voice in Venser's mind spoke with the bite of an experienced speaker,

"Do you truly think that wolf knows her place because of you? I sincerely doubt that one such as yourself, stumbling through existence and magicks that you scarcely understand, could teach her anything aside from pain. You cannot hide the way you feel from me. Something that happened to you, something that required djed, in that encounter. While I cannot feel your emotions when you exit our territory for telepathy, your djed is mine. I feed upon it, for we are connected. Something happened and when you returned, you were fractured. You collapsed immediately upon arrival, your thoughts a scrambled heap of images and weakness.

You believe yourself to be so powerful, so knowledgeable, yet you are nothing more or less than a fool given dangerous weapons. Ender was right to summon ME to you, for you know so little about control, boy. You believe yourself to be so powerful yet your mind whines with the insecure wailings of a child. Go back to sleep, scum. I want to see the mind that reduced yours to a state of such weakness. Rest, for when I return, there will be no more for you.
"

And with that, the Kirt hopped from Venser's leg, quickly making its way out of the window of the room in Tarsin's Boarding House. It would make its way towards the Foundation of the Elemental Mind.

A Meeting Unexpected [Venser Rush]

The fool that had bonded with Karn and thus allowed him access into the plane of Mizahar was nothing of the sort. It was an easy thing, to manipulate the boy by insulting him. Petty, vengeful, Karn could tell that Venser Rush was the sort to contain his resentment. The resentment turned to hatred. Hatred fueled one's ruthlessness and became strength. And Karn wished to have a wizard bondmate that was strong. To toy with the weak and push them to the ends of their rope was nothing. It was unamusing. It had been the game he had played on Fyrden, striking down the fools who dared to challenge him. While Karn was by no means the most powerful of Familiars, there was no need to be, for power was merely a window of opportunity. Power paired with a mind for choosing one's battles, ergo, having restraint, was what mattered.

And Karn knew how to choose his battles.

Venser Rush was to become a companion fitting of the Familiar. If he could not be formed into one, then the Familiar would gladly remove him from the equation, mutilate him when he became powerful enough to do so, and be done with him. Karn had plans of oppression, intent to devour. He wished to see the faces of the struggling contorted with despair as they realized exactly how far apart he was from they. However, Karn was patient. Years could go by for this ambition to come to fruition, and for the moment, he saw it fit to remove Venser from the situations in his life that would make that goal take longer to reach. Mikayas' Emporium, for example, was now out of the equation. He had goaded the Rush twin into believing that the place was not worthy of his talents, skillful use of derogatory words paired with subtle flattery had inflated the blonde's ego sufficiently.

And now, Karn's task was to see what Venser had done while under the influence of the mysterious band around his wrist. Karn had noted the change in Venser when he had worn it and when not, noting the sudden, powerful ruthlessness that exuded from him when it was worn. It was... delightful. It, by itself, brought Venser closer to the mindset Karn sought for him to adopt. However, it was a crutch, at best. It held up the inferior mind of a developing being, but for the moment it was sufficient. Plans formulated in the Familiar's mind, but first he wished to witness the results of this encounter first-hand. He wanted to see the being that Venser had so artfully mutilated.

The boy will never know that there is begrudging respect for him. I made a mistake in showing him a sliver of it when we had bonded, but it was merely to persuade him to perpetuate my stay away from Fyrden. I had no desire to linger, for this world has so much more potential to... hate.

Hatred was the beautiful sister of despair, both emotions wrought from trauma and both so... wonderful to witness upon the face of the oppressed. If Karn envied Venser for anything, it was his ability to pull upon his djed to utilize the discipline of Auristics. One day, he too would have the ability. And he would encourage Venser to utilize it all the more, for Karn's own benefit.

When the Familiar arrived at the Foundation of the Elemental Mind, it decided to shift. From the small, stealthy shape of a frog, the Kirt turned to a thin stone snake, sliding beneath the gap between door and floor. When Karn had stalked Venser, he had noticed the Rush twin entering a specific room, and made his way in that direction. When he entered, he shifted again, his body twisting and contorting itself to form the shape of a small, humanoid being. He took incredibly dark hues, the material of obsidian climbing to the surface of his skin.

The Familiar climbed up the surface of a chair, making his way higher and higher upon it, at times needing to elongate an arm and then shrink it in order to rise higher along. When he was at last at a respectable vantage point, Karn directed his gaze towards the woman. She looked to be resting, gravely wounded with bandages tinged with red totally covering her right eye. The Familiar, lacking a face in this form, did not smile, but he was quite amused. He allowed a mouth to form on his head, forming eyes and a semblance of a face in order to be better identified with. To the unobservant soul, he would perhaps look like a Pycon, the Familiar taking a very friendly tone to his voice as he asked,

"Lady, are you okay? You look so hurt."

A Meeting Unexpected [Venser Rush]

Redd had leaned back into the couch, her head leaning back to rest upon the back of the couch, her left eye closed as she drew in a slow breath. The young wolf had been formulating plans on how she was going to kill the blonde haired man. Firstly, she had to track him down and she had all the time in the world to do that, for she knew him by scent now. And scent meant a lot to a wolf that never forgot especially when it came to revenge. If one took their time to hunt out their prey, or to toy with it first, they were bound to get good results. Her left hand rose to run through the locks of her brindled red hair, although the nails lightly grazed the bandages that encased her head and another growl worked its way to her lips. She could see herself getting frustrated very easily and instead rubbed the hand along the left side of her face, wincing as it sent fresh stabbing pain along that side of her face. Curse the man for even showing his face around her Master’s home, curse him and his quick ability.

The young wolf knew, she knew that with the loss of her right eye, it was going to be hard to adjust to the loss. She knew this because of the training that she had done with the man named Hayl early one morning upon the docks. Blind folded, she was easily distracted by noise because she had to rely heavily upon her hearing, something she was going to have to do now because of this… Hindrance. However, she would overcome it, she had to for it was this determination that kept her going. She bit down upon her bottom lip, forgetting about her elongated canine teeth and it drew a few small drops of blood. A sigh fell upon her lips before her tongue darted out to gather this blood up onto it, she didn’t even wince for it was something that happened more times than she wanted to admit. That small bit of pain she could handle and she didn’t even blink at it. When something became a common occurrence, one grew some kind of tolerance to it and Redd wondered when she would grow a bigger tolerance to the pain that now plagued her body.

However, these thoughts were cut off as a small voice seemed to speak at her from where she perceived the site of her Master’s chair would be. Slowly, she leaned forwards as her hand dropped to rest by her side, her one eye opening to view the arm chair in front of her. However, to actually see the little person, she had to angle her head slightly to the right so then her single hazel hue could view him. This little thing she didn’t know anything about, nor could she even begin to contemplate what race it was. Although, it looked like it had the shape of a human form so maybe it was a race of small little humans? She lifted her nose to sniff in the direction of the little person, before her nose wrinkled and her top lip curled back to bare her teeth at him. ”Don’t people know how to knock upon the door anymore?” She scoffed as she leaned back into the couch again, but she made sure to keep her gaze steady upon him. Well she guessed that it was a little man, although the scent was something that she didn’t recognize. ”Go away before I throw you out, Master Miro isn't here and I would like to sit here in silence.” Yes… Tell that little man off, because mouthing off got you into the greatest of positions last time, she scolded herself. What did it want? What was it? And why was it disturbing her silent thoughts? No one cared about her pain, no one ever did which made this little thing some-what suspicious to her.

A Meeting Unexpected [Venser Rush]

Stone shuffled about on the surface of the Familiar's body as he shifted yet again. Changing in form, turning into the form of man was quite unappealing to him and he relented in the shifting. The Familiar had taken the form of a man for the arms of a man were the best suited, to his knowledge, for climbing. He had stayed in it for the form of a man was the best to converse with, but obviously, the woman before him was in no mood for conversation.

And, as he had told Venser, she was absolutely unbroken, for the Rush twin did not know how to be a Master. He did not know how to impart wisdom save for the rudimentary ability he had in inflicting pain upon others. Though, it was in pain that wisdom could be most easily obtained. It was a good place to start, however Venser Rush was possessed by the crippling hallucination that he was better than he already was. Illusions of grandeur possessed him, the bane of quite a few mages, and Karn would teach him control over it.

For Karn was a liberator in the truest meaning of the word.

However, the Familiar abandoned the line of thought, instead focusing his energy and his prioritization of attention upon the Kelvic woman. And as he listened to her, it was made quite clear as to why Venser had lashed out at her. She was quite rude, to say the very least. She spoke with an obvious bite in her tone. Her words were unwelcoming, and while perfectly legitimate given the scenario, it was very much a repellent. Venser Rush, for all of his inability to enmesh himself into a social sort of etiquette, at the very least wasn't so far gone that he would throw forward the face of aggression immediately. At least, without the wolfband he was not.

The fallout of said Legacy was exactly how powerfully aggression was emphasized. It cared not for social cues and thus it was problematic. It was a stepping stone but nothing more. The Familiar's form completed its shifting and settled back onto the form of the stone toad, Karn leaping from the height of the chair and to the floor, bringing himself closer to the Kelvic, settling itself upon the arm rest of the couch that she was seated upon as it shook its body slightly, settling all four legs upon the ground, ready to leap again if the need arose before he parted his mouth to say,

"I could go away, dear girl. However, I perhaps have information that is useful to you. Your face, it speaks of an expression that requires revenge to dissipate. Your right side, especially speaks of a wound that one cannot recover from. Such a wound extends far beyond that of the body, and I wish to bring unto you the satisfaction you so desperately crave. If you are interested, merely continue listening, and perhaps our partnership can be quite beneficial should you accept it."

The Familiar would smirk internally at his own words, though his toadlike features showed no hint of the emotion the thoughts carried with them. Ploys, elaborate and simple alike, were so satisfying to undertake. They required a deviousness to them, a mind thoroughly equipped to lie and deceive. And it was in this that Karn flourished. The ploy formed in the Familiar's mind as he continued speaking, very much intent on bringing about the suffering that both hate and despair wrought into the world through their respective media.

"It is unlikely that you wish for my sympathy, though I know some of what has happened to you. Your territory was invaded, correct? The invader failed to identify himself, he struck at you, then he ripped the eye from your face? It is a terrible fate, to be sure. However,"

And it was here that the Familiar baited for a moment, intent on gauging the Kelvic's interest in what he had to say for just a tick before he continued on,

"I have a proposition for you. I am Karn. I know this man who struck you down very well. In fact, he is a mutual enemy,"

The crafting of the lie was worded carefully, the Familiar intent on infusing false hatred into his words. The result was a very embittered tone, the Familiar's toad body crouching closer to the floor as it continued on,

"He lays claims to intelligence and labels others as lesser, yet he is inexorably the brute that he claims others to be. I would like to see him destroyed. However, I lack the resources to do so. Perhaps, you would be willing to undertake the task if I supplied you with information...?"

A Meeting Unexpected [Venser Rush]

Redd watched the little man turn into something completely different right before her very eye and she was now even more hesitant to talk with the little… Thing. Although it looked to be a frog now, what if it changed its form again into something else that it could defend itself with? The word caution, echoed through her mind and she pressed her lips tightly together as her one eye followed the movement of the frog until it rested upon the arm of the couch. It was speaking again but in a frog form, funny she never thought that actual frogs could talk, but then again she hadn’t thought that anyone else could shift into animals until she learned of the kelvic race. He spoke about the right side of her face and she had to hold back the temptation of lifting her hand to cover it. She would never be the same; she knew this, especially after that strange man had walked into her life in this very room. She remained silent for the moment, intent on listening, but that didn’t mean she would do as this little frog suggested, for she knew her limits and she refused to act straight away.

Rest, she knew she needed rest, hell, her body screamed for the need to rest, but that did not mean that she couldn’t listen to the frog, if only for a little while. The frog known as Karn, continued to speak and it seemed as if he wanted to help her. Although physically, because she assumed he was little, he couldn’t do it himself, he couldn’t kill the man that had ripped out her eye. Slowly, she moved to rise from her position upon the couch, wincing as a soft growl worked its way to her lips at the pain that was caused by her ribs. The young wolf would then move forward, her steps slow but she paced the room. Each step was a pained step and each turn was even more painful, but she continued anyway. One of her arms had wrapped itself around her form, almost as if it was trying to unconsciously quell the pain on its own. Her mind ticked over with the words that Karn spoke and the corners of her lips turned downwards. Even if the frog provided her with useful information she was in no shape to face him just yet. It was something that she had learned from past experience, a lesson taught to her by wolves when she had been starving. First, she had to rest, it healed the wounds faster and then pleasure could be had.

The young wolf paused in her thinking, her hazel hue now focused upon the wall in front of her. She had almost forgotten about the little frog, almost, for one couldn’t fully forget about a little thing that could change its shape. Slowly, she turned back to the frog that was still upon the arm of the chair and shook her head. ”Even if I did want to undertake this task, I am in no shape to take it on right now. The chances of me actually succeeding would be very slim, or not at all.” And she couldn’t risk losing another eye. She turned her gaze back towards the door as the memory played before her very eyes, she could see the scene as it played out again and again. It only served to spur her on to push her down the road of revenge, but sometimes that road was a very long road. He was fast, unnaturally fast and she couldn’t exactly understand how. The wolf had only seen someone else move fast once before and that had been a man that was known as a poison crafter in Ravok. He had become fast suddenly when the two of them had become targets for wolves; perhaps he held the key to understanding?

Her gaze finally returned to the frog and she shook her head, ”It seems that you have wasted your time little frog, for I cannot help you right at this moment.” No… Not right now, but maybe soon, very soon… It then led her onto a different question, although they did share a mutual enemy and although he did not have the resources, why would Karn trust her enough to talk to her about it? She was a wolf, a wolf that no one trusted, no matter what the circumstances were. Suspicion came back to her once again and her one eye studied the little frog for a moment, before with pained steps, she moved further away from it. She had crossed over to the wall behind the arm chair and she leaned her back against it, familiar pain coursing through her form with these movements. Redd took a sharp breath, before she slowly let it go, finally asking the question that she should have asked before. ”Why come to me? I’m sure that there are other people that he has angered, other people that are probably in better shape and are more suited to the task than I am.”

A Meeting Unexpected [Venser Rush]

Despite the being's words, she did not seem tremendously opposed to the idea. Perhaps a bit suspicious. Perhaps mistrustful. But, those were things easily remedied with time. If the Kelvic believed herself to be anywhere near the capacity to being able to strike forth at the man who had removed her eye, then she was a fool. However, luckily, she was nothing of the sort. Intelligent, if rather ignorant. She seemed to be unable to grasp at the larger picture which involved the possession of patience. Which was absolutely what Karn intended for this planted seed, this bud to grow and turn into conspiracy, to be.

A plan that was implemented immediately was folly. Half-cocked and pitiful, it was likely to be shredded at the first sign of weakness. No, plans required time to establish to bring to fruition for with the development of each additional stage, the previous one was to be analyzed. Karn had lived for quite some time on the dark face of Fyrden. Ender knew better than anyone else just how the Kirt plotted. However, the Familiar's mouth parted again to speak, rolling over once on the chair before climbing higher onto the chair, intent on making his level of vision more equal to the slave's. It still needed to look up to speak, but it mattered not,

"Oh, but of course you aren't able to reap revenge now!. You will need time, my new friend. But, in that time, I can acquire and then unveil to you every secret that Venser Rush has. The power he used against you was not mundane, dear Kelvic. It was a magic called the Flux. He is a well-versed practitioner of that particular discipline. And I can, in the time that we continue our association, tell you the rest of his abilities. And his weaknesses. For your oppressor is not invulnerable.

I will ask of you only to heal for now, and I can address your concerns. I ask you specifically for you have a very deep grudge against Mr. Venser Rush. He has not wronged people in Ravok who could do anything about it. However, you could. And you have a passion that others will not have. For he stole your eye from you. He could do so again, friend! Imagine walking the world, blind and wounded, forever ridden of the most beautiful of the senses? I ask you to undertake this task and listen to my attributions to your knowledge for your sake. For I wish to see you alive.
"

The Kirt had allowed concern to permeate his tone, the toad's shiny, pearl-like eyes staring up at the Kelvic. Their glow in the light almost seemed to exude a glow, the Kirt very intent on having the Kelvic trust him. If the plan was not to be, fine. But, there was a remarkable level of amusement to be had if she accepted his 'assistance.'

However, in his mind, Karn laughed at the deception that he wove into being. If the Kelvic believed him, then Karn and Redd would have a very fruitful association, indeed.

A Meeting Unexpected [Venser Rush]

Postby Redd on November 5th, 2014, 2:47 am

The little creature thing jumped up higher on the back of the couch and her single eye followed his movements for the moment before she shifted upon the spot that she stood on. Every time she stood, it seemed as if the action itself aggravated the ribs and she gritted her teeth together. Slowly the woman would lean forwards to just simply stand instead of leaning. Broken ribs always annoyed her, especially considering that it wasn’t the first time that she had to deal with broken ribs. The little frog seemed to be talking again and Redd resumed to pacing the room, nodding every now and then to the words that Karn spoke. He did speak some sense, not that she had planned on attacking the stranger in this condition. However, now she had a name to put to the man’s face. Venser… Venser Rush. It had a ring to it, one that she might have liked if it hadn’t been the name of the man that took her eye out. Now, it was just simply the name of the man that she hated, the one that she wanted to kill with her own teeth and taste his blood upon her tongue. Although, she didn't know as to why Karn called him Mr. Venser Rush.

Redd came to a pause as she drew in a long slow breath before exhaling, the man had used magic on her? The thought made another growl rise to her lips, he had used magic against her, which didn’t seem at all fair, not that fairness actually existed within the world. Another question popped up as she glanced at the little frog sideways, how did he know that Venser was using magic against her? In fact, how did he even know that the man she faced had been Venser? Sure, Arienette had dragged her down the street of Ravok to get her to The Healing Hand, but Redd hadn’t been seen with Venser himself. Not even Arienette from what the wolf knew, know that the man that she had faced had been called Venser. So how did this frog know? Indeed, the wolf was a suspicious animal and ever since the attack, she had grown even more suspicious of people. She decided that it was best however, for her to keep these thoughts to herself for now, for she didn’t have any real evidence that would suggest that this frog was a foe… Yet.

Every one of her movements were slow, why? So then to not jostle her ribs too much and she rounded the arm chair to cross over the floor so then she could reach the couch where the frog seemed to be. She turned then and seated herself back down upon the couch, trusting that if the frog hadn’t done anything now, then maybe he wouldn’t do anything for the duration of his visit. The wolf would then twist her form so then she could lay down upon the couch, another growl quick to her lips. Once her head was resting upon the arm rest she finally decided to give Karn an answer seeing as she was now in a more comfortable position. ”Keep giving me bits and pieces of information, and I can see an interesting friendship happening between us, friend. She had placed an emphasis on the word friend, because she wanted him to know that she still didn’t trust him. Slowly she closed her hazel hue, relaxing into the embrace of the couch. Now, she just had to rely upon time to heal so then she could have her revenge against this man known as Venser Rush.

A Meeting Unexpected [Venser Rush]

The Familiar was surprised but not the least bit disappointed that the Kelvic had accepted his divulging of information at face value. Perhaps she still suspected. Perhaps she still did not not trust. But Karn did not require her full trust, merely her undivided attention. He had come up with a contingency lest she continue to debate Karn's usefulness, but it had been for naught. The Kirt's stone lips formed a wry smile, a very strange expression for a toad, though it did not mind. The expression was not an unpleasant one, though it was certainly strange. Karn nodded his head as he replied,

"But of course, Ms..."

The Kirt stalled in the event that the Kelvic slave wished to introduce herself at that juncture. If she did, Karn would nod and repeat her name. If not, he would simply continue speaking, all too willing to divulge what information he knew about the Rush boy.

"First and most importantly, Venser lives in the establishment known as Tarsin's Boarding House. However, he might not linger there for long. More importantly, Venser Rush has a twin. If you choose to seek your revenge, keep in mind that Venser bears a scar beneath his eye. It is the most obvious way he can be distinguished from his brother."

The Elder Rush twin had visited Venser during his time in bed rest, and though Verin had not noticed the Familiar, Karn had most definitely noticed him. Not only that, but he had listened in on enough of Venser's conversations to know quite a bit about the boy. Though their bond was no closer to growing, Karn had monopolized upon the time he had spent watching the blonde recover. Tormenting and taunting him all the while, sowing the seeds of rage that were only further amplified by the wolfband artifact. Oh, Karn knew quite enough about Venser to fuel Redd's needs. However, he would bait her slowly. For he wished to join her on her pursuits of the Rush twin. And for that specific objective, he did require her trust.

"Venser also is commonly seen at the docks, or on the many bridges that make their way through Ravok. A rather ironic thing, for he is hydrophobic. It's a strange fascination."

The Kirt looked up for a moment before returning his gaze towards the Kelvic,

"And more importantly, the reason why I know so much about Venser. I am quite possibly one of the beings that knows him best. For the past season, since he earned my ire, I have been with him. Stealthily, for my body changes form much like a wind carries a leaf. That is to say, effortlessly. I have been with him, in the shadows, listening, watching, observing. Venser Rush ruined my life, and thus I have been gathering information and when I saw him strike you... yes, I was there, sadly."

Lies upon lies, but the Familiar conveyed them without a hitch, speaking fluidly,

"I thought it would be best for you to rise against him when you recovered. I could not help you, but I can supply you with the means for your revenge. I will do this for only one thing... I wish to be there with you when he falls to the ground, dead. Will you allow me such a kindness?"

Will you allow me the kindness of watching as both you and Venser play as pawns in my game, slave?

A Meeting Unexpected [Venser Rush]

”Redd, just Redd.” Indeed, she had given him her name, mostly because he had divulged her, his own, so she had humoured him and given her own. She listened to him repeat her name back to her and a slight nod of her head was given at this. Although, soon enough her was talking again and she instantly recognized the name of the place that Venser was staying at. Tarsin’s huh? It was a wonder that they hadn’t ran into each before considering that she had once lived at Tarsin’s with her previous master. The young wolf lifted her arms so then her fingers could twine together and she placed them upon her stomach, lower than her broken ribs so not to aggravate them. However, he had said that Venser may not linger there for long and a frown creased her features. What if he moved and she couldn’t find him again? Maybe she could stalk him to find out where he would go next to live? That would mean that she would have to recover much faster, unless… No, she didn’t really need to be fully recovered to walk and stalking was something similar, just that it involved walking much quieter.

Karn seemed to know a lot about Venser and it just made her suspicions about him rise even further. However, this suspicion was addressed quickly, almost as if he was reading her mind and she bit down upon her bottom lip once more. A soft growl fell upon her lips the moment that he said that he had been there when Venser had striked her, when he had pulled her eye out of its socket. She then remembered that Karn had also said that Venser had ruined his life. How did Venser ruined his life? He could change his form, so if he wasn’t missing any limbs or eyes, what did Venser do to Karn to earn the little frog’s anger, to earn his want for revenge as well? The little thing then told her that he couldn’t help with the actual rise but that he could supply her with the means to exact her revenge, but he had only one small request. A request that interested her enough to open her one remaining eye to peer up at him, his position being on the back of the couch just above her.

To say that the request was strange, was an over-statement. No one ever wanted to see death, or to see a wolf bring down their prey. She watched him for a moment to see whether he was joking, but apparently he was serious. Well, she guessed that maybe he wouldn’t have made the request if he wasn’t serious. Besides, why would he tell her all of this information if he didn’t want anything in return. People always wanted something in return, why would he be any different in that regards? Finally, after a moment of pause, she nodded her head. ”Alright, well I guess if you are going to help me with this revenge of mine, that you can be there when I bring Venser down.” The young wolf scoffed before she closed her one-eyed hazel gaze and rolled her head slightly to the left. ”If I’m going to do this, I will need to sleep.” She paused for a moment, before she continued. ”I need to rest in peace, alone without anyone talking in my ear.” While it may have come off sounding a little rude, she really did want sleep. She could only take being awake for so long before she tired easily, she hoped that it would get better the more that she rested.
