Sensitivity

Sensitivity is the name of Oriana’s Gnosis. As its name implies, it has to do with someone’s five senses, particularly the sense of smell. Oriana gives this gift because of the incredible sense of smell that a bear has. To her, it is one of the greatest gifts that one could bestow on someone. Imagine being able to perceive just about everything that has a smell, any sort of smell, within five miles. That is what her champions are capable of.

Mechanics

When a person receives one of Oriana’s Gnosis marks, Sensitivity is always on. It does not need to be activated, and it cannot be turned off. She often develops a relationship with someone before they receive one of her marks, or, at least, she knows of them or has heard of them. She has been known, however, to award a Gnosis mark in return for deeds done - like rescuing bear cubs, or helping a child in life-threatening danger. Those who receive Gnosis marks Oriana tends to consider her children, and she can be very protective of them.

Negative Gnosis marks from the bear goddess are quite rare, simply because those who earn her wrath usually die on the spot from it. But those who have earned these negative marks usually have done something so heinous that she feels that death would be too good for them.

Mark Progression

Marked [Cursed] - 1 Gnosis Mark
	Someone who is favourably marked by Oriana gains a heightened sense of smell that is sensitive slightly beyond average. It is, of course, a double-edged sword, because one’s sensitivity to odours is increased. Someone who lives to be cursed by the goddess finds that they lose their sense of smell in its entirety. They can no longer perceive any smells, good or bad, whatsoever.
Favored [Despised] - 2 Gnosis Marks
	Someone who is favoured by Oriana, that is, has two Gnosis marks, has a heightened sense of smell beyond that of the first level - to the point where they can identify a lot more smells in their immediate environment. It is about twice as good as the average human’s. Someone who receives two negative gnosis marks from Oriana loses their ability to hear - making them without a sense of sound or smell.
Priest/Priestess [Adversary] - 3 Gnosis Marks
	At this level, with three Gnosis marks, a priest or priestess of Oriana has a sense of smell that can pick up everything within a mile from where they are in all directions. With three negative Gnosis marks, they become blind - their sense of sight is forever lost.
Champion [Nemesis] - 4 Gnosis Marks
	At level four, a Champion of Oriana has an incredible sense of smell to the point where they can smell and identify different things up to five miles away in each direction. A nemesis leads a truly wretched existence - it can hardly be called a life. They lose their sense of taste - leaving them with only one of the five senses left: touch.
