One of the TV shows I watch is NCIS, and they just announced a replacement for the actress who played Ziva David. This show is #1 on CBS, has been around a decade, and has some heavy acting firepower with Mark Harmon and David McCallum, among others. Now some poor new soul is about to jump into that. Maybe fans will love her; maybe they won't. But I have some empathy for her situation. This site Mizahar has been around for 4 years or so, maybe longer depending on how long it was in development.
I'm here now because I like it and because I think it will be fun for me; I've already gotten a few days of enjoyment just from reading threads, looking at OOC Lore, watching Tarot videos and hanging out in chat. And that's great for me, but what do I bring to Mizahar?
Ideally, I'd like to eventually feel that I entertained some other people and sparked some enthusiasm in some people that might otherwise have found themselves fading or not posting so much anymore. But there's no way to predict the future. Sometimes characters click and sometimes they don't. I may end up writing 3 posts and disappearing, or I may end up sticking around for 60 days or longer. All possibilities exist; this is like the first page of a novel and anything can happen! In television, some new and replacement characters last; others become one-episode wonders. (Personally, I hope I stay: I'll be the better writer and role-player for it.)
I can tell you this: so far I have enjoyed every thread I've read. If you're here in Mizahar and you're reading this, chances are I've already glanced at your words and found them interesting. And if you're not reading this because you're too busy writing, then good for you! The thread always gets most interesting one post after you and your character are stymied with no apparent idea what to write/do next.
