Well, its always odd actually meeting irl someone for the first time you've known for a long time and shared some of your most intimate thoughts with over the net. In fact, the last time I met someone irl I had struck up a friendship with on the net, I ended up marrying him. That was a sort of blindside that I hadn't expected. I know people diss internet romances, but I have a dreamy happy ending one that is going on its 5th year anniversary... and standing at my side at SeaTac Matt reminded me of how nervous we both were last time we were meeting strangers in the airport - and how well that turned out.
I was worried I would be late... you know, the old horror story of leaving someone in the airport that has put their absolute faith in you and flown halfway across the country just to meet you. Then you get there and find out your early (plane delayed right?) and worry again that you won't recognize them. Then.... with Cayenne I was worried we would have communication problems. I don't know anyone who has hearing impairments - nor someone... *gulp* Canadian. *crosses herself*
Well, as it turns out... I spotted her right off. Then I carefully snuck up behind her to give her an attack hug from behind. We waited on her bag, and headed home. There wasn't much talking in the airport - frankly all those people terrify me and I kept being worried we'd be lost. I am totally turning into a small town recluse. Normally when someone is flying into SeaTac I'd take them on into Seattle to see the space needle and visit pikes place market, but in the case of this Sun, it was pouring down rain (bad view, cold weather, hideous timing for the market. So we just headed home... everyone was tired. Seattle can wait until later in the week.
Matt and I were worried about the state of our house, yard, barn, everything. We didn't want to give Cayenne the wrong impression - that we were slobs etc. We spent the entire day Saturday before she came cleaning, rearranging...
The group that went to Greece consisted of some amazing and funny people. All in all half of us were musicians and/or artists, so I believe that kind of explains the relaxed, laid-back atmosphere that accompanied us during our travels through Athens and the Peloponnese. One evening we even went down to the beach and sang various songs to the beautiful tune of a guitar. Those days, sitting there in the dark or dancing Sirtaki or roaming ancient stone ruins ... I will put some memories here.

The streets of Athens.
Ruins at the acropolis.
Depicting a theatre mask. D:
The church of a cute little monastery we visited. (They demanded covered shoulders and knees.)
When going swimming, some of us were afraid of sea urchins.
Sometimes I get the feeling that I was born the wrong sex.
When I say that, I don't mean that I am gay or anything. I'm not. But there are certain things that happen in life and indeed in thread that make me think its true. Growing up, I always wanted to play the hero action figure. I never really wanted to play the petite girl that needed rescuing. I didn't even much like barbie. I loved the boy next door and we spent hours together playing. Our favorite thing was matchbox cars. We had tonka toys... and excavated big sand traps and landscaped whole worlds for our cars. Later when He Man and the Masters of the Universe came out, Sean got the whole entire action figure set. I loved playing HE-Man.. he had the coolest mount... a giant cat. Sean didn't mind letting me play him, because he loved She-Ra and her flying horse. We had epic adventures together, and cried like babies when he moved away when I was in the eighth grade. I met up with him years later, about twenty in fact, and we hugged and cried and were so glad to see each other all over again. Sean had bright blue hair that was died white at the tips, and was wearing a wedding band because he'd just married his life partner Mark. He thanked me for being the cool girl next door that always let him play She-Ra and never questioned it.
In a way, that made me sad.
I don't know how to be a wilting flower. I've never been needy. I'm not really much good at being a girl either. I have a few long flowing skirts in the closet and a couple of peasant blouses I wear with them once in a very long while. But mainly I live in jeans and a T-shirt (sometimes printed sometimes not).... an old worn pair of birks, ropers, or skater shoes. I have one functional set of pumps in the closet, and nice girly clothes that I rarely wear unless I'm going out on the town with Matt. This never really bothers me... not really. But today was rough. Everyone broke down at the yard. I was running around...
I've been strangely absent for a few days. I told Misha why, but the truth is our chickies were outgrowing their rabbit cage. We desperately needed to build them something else that was larger until their main coup outside was finished. It's perhaps going to take a while since Matt has decided to make it something special. I think hes getting as attached to the chickens as I am. Anyhow, it was a group effort. Matt constructed, and I painted. I put the wire on the sides and he put the top wire on. What do you think?
Oh, and I added a candid shot of my little ones that aren't ready to go in with the bigger chickies. We now have 6 Rhode Island Reds (one's a Rooster cause suspitiously my naked butted little sweetie just grew red combs - still no feathers on his rump though). I might call him Giovanni. And the rest of the hens are doing well.
Then we have four Americanas. They are pretty cool because they lay blue, green, and sometimes pink eggs. On top of that we have two Australorps from Australia that are black hens with iridescent bluish green feathers. The two Australorps are in with the Americanas who have been treating them nicely even though there's more than a week in age difference atm.
So the good news is this. Since we were building all weekend, I got all my outdoor stuff done for the pre-Misha visit... furniture is out, flowers weeded, lawn in tip top shape... even though I have to work sunday ( yea for an entire day of full OT!!! ) I'm still going to have nothing but time to finally post up all the stuff I've gotten done for Mizahar....
I figured that I need a list to help me keep tracks of what is going on at the creative front and what I have to do as soon as possible. There are a lot of new things, since I think that I can take on a few more threads without any negative effects at all. I have great plans, too. So, here’s the list:
Malia Learn some basic information about Animation & the creation of the Nuit Do some adventuring & gather more xp Probably do some research about Karjin, Kahnikivas & the Medini family
Avayra Get involved in at least one of the planned adventures Get some glyphing & magecrafting experience Probably get some weapon experience (in the Infinite Distances thread?)
Mod Stuff Done – Reply to Trista’s thread Write a first draft of the city description Reorganize & probably edit all of the existing locations Write a first draft of the ‘skyfeather’ animals
Another RPG site (I have one character there) Done - Do some socializing Visit some other cities for shopping, training and (religious) adventures Find a skill that absolutely intrigues me, self-mod a training thread & make it her main skill
I hope to get at least some of this done today and tomorrow and the rest until the weekend, so I can focus on posting to threads throughout the free week. I also plan to (eventually!) finish up the locations for Mura and think about new ones that I’d like to write. Also, I want to come up with a really cool adventure plot that will draw people to Mura. When the locations are done, I have nothing to do except writing up a bunch of wiki articles. But that’s really not what a storyteller is designed to do. So, rather than write science, I want to write story, story, story!
