Red Rose, Red Rose by Neyasi Tillandsia on January 18th, 2014, 3:05 am
Randomly posting a poem that was magically sparked in my head while working on a new signature image! Red rose, red rose, How do you smell? Are you sweet, as can be? Or do your petals reek of Hell?
Red rose, red rose, Is there a secret to your beauty, something I can't quite match? Is it in the soil that you grow on, Or the teardrops that you catch?
Sweet, sweet as can be, Beautiful from every angle, You give infinite joy to young lovers, But they don't know your secret. If it be the last thing I do, I shall understand your ways, and so I might learn.
Red rose, red rose, Oh infinite red of a rose, I watch you for eternity, While the world moves around me And at last, oh at the very last, I have discovered your secret.
Red rose, red rose, What dare young lovers to pick you? It's not the sweet fragrance, And it's not where you stand. It's the swords that you carry, Your daggers of the heart, Your hidden thorns. And so they might pick you, and so prick their hands, To add to your collection of betrayals.
Red rose, red rose, Are you really red? Or is the red of this rose The blood that I shed?

The Beauty of a Negotiator by Malia on January 17th, 2010, 6:42 pm
Two days ago – during a double psychology lesson that revolved around said section in the nearest bookshop – I came across an incredibly interesting book. It’s called “The Enneagram” and was written by Helen Palmer (the original version is in English!), although I’ve seen many other books on the same topic. For a better understanding, I admit that I love personality tests and learning about different types of personalities. I was thrilled when we did the classical personality test in class – I turned out to be the only compulsive type of about ten people, by the way. Of course, there is no ultimate scheme where one type will fit nicely with you and the others won’t. There are always different degrees of identification for different people, even for the same person in different times of their life. There can be thousands of factors influencing who you are and what suits you … and it’s huge fun to think about your results. On another note, I love the fact that personality types are some kind of self-fulfilling prophecies … You read everything about the type(s) that suit you, and then you continue with your daily tasks and keep thinking about and checking how much is right from what was written about you. And suddenly you start doing those things more. It’s crazy! Anyway, I’m currently reading about a new set of personality types. Ennea = nine, so nine types. I’ve only read about a few that sounded interesting and found that two or three represent me most. Especially type number nine which is called the negotiator intrigues me. Number nine lives more through the feelings of others than through hers. In her childhood she was mostly ignored by others which lead to a desire to please others in order to be recognized and valued. She thinks that everything she does has to be like others want it to be. Her mind is always filled with a lot of different things, memories and duties and little things that need to be done, and she can ponder on several thoughts at the same time. ... [ Continued ]

Functioning Member of Mizahar Society! by Deshira on February 4th, 2012, 2:25 pm
The most wonderful things are happening!
Okay, in all honesty, before I continue with spitting my happiness at you people, let me say this - You probably won't care. You'll probably roll your eyes. You may or may not sigh at my childlike glee.
With that being said, I'm now a functioning member of Mizahar society! I posted my first in-character post not long ago, someone (Ispsyavinsens) replied back... All is well!
It was like... once I got my first post out I felt completely fine. In my last blog post I mentioned all my nervousness by simply making a character. It's not so bad now. :) In fact, now I'm confident. I want to start posting in all kinds of threads. If they correspond with my time stamping, of course. I'm still unsure about solo threads, and flashbacks. I know they'll be helpful later on, but all in good time.
Do you know what I find so cool about role playing my character? Simply discovering her. Finding out how she responds to things. What about you?
Mimicking my last blog, I think I'll end with some questions for the reader.
1) Do you remember your first in-character post? Were you excited if someone replied?
2) What's your favorite thread you've partaken in, and what's one thing that happened in it?

Burning through DC by Fabell on October 13th, 2019, 9:58 am
I'll be the first to admit that I am a: gamer/ geek/ nerd/ semi-otaku (I do not shy places of the light but do prefer the darkness)/ obsessive compulsive/ INFP while also playing the roles of an: intellectual/ teacher/ leader/ husband/ father/ poet/ wannabe novelist/ expatriate/ conservative libertarian/ not quite so God fearing as I should be Christian I also have the uncanny (or perhaps more common than I realize) ability to utterly decimate TV shows in a matter of days, when I realize I missed an entire season or half-season and the new season has arrived but cannot watch episode 1 of the new season before finishing AND ANALYZING every episode in the previous season to an unhealthy degree... even if I utterly despise the TV show but feel it's necessary for me to watch it because of the above characteristics. So this leads me to where I was for most of yesterday and most of today, starting on episode 12 of the fourth season of Supergirl and burning my way through to the first episode of Season five. Because I truly hate this show, but feel a sick duty to watch it, as if it did actually improve I would forever feel like I abandoned my civic responsibilities. I hate the overt politicization of the show. I hate that the values of the writers are crammed down my throat like someone cranking open my mouth with a lever and shoveling eggs down my gullet. And recently I've really just come to dislike the central characters for their (what seems to me) unapologetic narcissism of their values. And what really began to disturb me in Season 4, was that Lex Luthor and Lena Luthor seemed like the best written characters of superhero TV in the past decade, but both are being posed as either anti-heroes or outright villains (obviously, as they should be). But I actually felt more compelled to their stories than I did the central cast, and was actually rooting more often for Lena's small victories against her mother and her moments of defined conviction...
