The Palace of the Lepers Hai's finest monument is not protected with violence, but fear. The first inhabitants of Hai were the diseased and gnosis cursed. They naturally chose the most beautiful structure as their own.
The Palace was to be Menuseh's opus. It was to be a splendid marvel, inexplicable in its complexity and beauty. Under the exacting and half mad vision of Menuseh the maze like Palace was built with fifteen levels and hundreds of rooms, some still undiscovered. It held wells, pools and gardens basking under rare patches of sunlight. Architects who failed Menuseh were buried alive in the foundations or walled into their unsatisfactory rooms.
As the criminals began to fill Hai, some endeavored to seize the palace from its sickly inhabitants. They were successful for a time, but Vayt's influence had seeped into the very stones. Those who possessed the palace joined the ranks of the diseased, blighted with diverse plagues and pains.
Unable to protest, the usurping criminals were overtaken by the infected hoard and summarily thrown into even deeper dungeons. Since then, the cursed and diseased have peacefully inhabited the Palace.
Under their leader, a man simply named the Leper King, the "lepers", as they are deceptively called, live a relatively easy life. One can catch glimpses through the windows of warms lights and royal halls still hung with scarlet.
