Alrighty then, here we go!
I was planning on playing a ghost with a reason to traverse the world. Now to my mind the most obvious choice is a temple guardian who's tracking down thieves. Somewhat similar to a mummy, only with more soulmist. The problem I see with this scenario is skill points; rather, I'm not sure how they transfer over after death.
-If the character was a gaurdian in life, and was merely slain during the theft, shouldn't a great deal of its skills transfer over?
This wouldn't be an issue, except the favor I'm going for is something of a free-range poltergeist. That Heavy focus on soulmist projection, which in turn means less skill points to go towards the skills the character would have had in life.
-Additionally, what effect does a character's race in life their abilities after death?
Actually, that brings me to another question. The page for soulmist projection doesn't exist, and therefore I have no idea exactly what the skill grades allow for soulmist projection to do. The page for Ghost notes that the skill isn't as refined as actual Projection, but beyond that I'm in the dark. This is actually the most important question for my character, so if anything gets answered I'd like it to be this one.
Getting to the targets of my character's retribution without them knowing a ghost is after them is fairly important, so the character will probably make frequent use of possession. Now, what exactly are the guidelines for entering play with a possess-ee (I prefer the term 'cheval'.) Now obviously I don't expect the cheval to be of PC quality, but I would like some clarification on what quality is available.
Oh, and I've been paging through the actual geographical and cultural lore looking for cultures which might have made use of ethereal undead sentinels, stewards, or wardens. Any suggestions?
Looking forward to what you've got,
