On Nature Vs. Nurture

Postby Emma on July 8th, 2010, 11:02 pm

Alright, I have a thought... I know that a race is buying into a culture normally... and it's been decided with Humans vs. sub-races that even if a sub-race is raised in human society, they get their racial boost, not the base-line human one.

My question is this. What about non-humans? For example, if a Konti was raised by an Akalak, could you take the unarmed combat bonus instead of the one for healing or seeing? How about a Myrian raised by Jamoura getting wilderness survival? And what if the race doesn't have culture, but was chosen for appearance alone (Like a Chaktawe raised by desert fox's)?
A thief is never sorry for stealing, or tricking their victim, or being a thief in general. If fact, the only thing they really are sorry for, it seems, is being caught.

Mizahar subscribes to the KISS principle.
That means..keep it simple stupid.
While you have a valid argument for
the real world, to control godmoding
and power pc combos since our races
are nicely balanced.... what you pick
as a race is what you get as a bonus.
It is your job as a player to write the
background of the pc so it makes sense
rather than our jobs as admins to
flex our rules so your pc makes sense.
