Hi everyone, just thought I'd introduce myself, get a chance to know some people. Also, be prepared for some babbling. My name is Amanda, but I've been called by my screen name (Tentative) more than my actual name. At least when I'm online, not in actual real life. Imagine my mother calling me that...

I grew up playing a fair amount of D&D and other tabletop RPGs. I didn't get into forum-posting RP games until the past year, and I've been going from one forum to the next looking for a world and community that suits what I'm used to. I basically searched "fantasy forum RP", and this website popped up on the list. After reading it over, I thought, "Oh man, you either go here for RPs or you stop altogether, Tenta."

Most styles of RP work with me, but in terms of subjects to write, I deal better with conversations and introspectives. I can write combat and other things pretty decently, but I just know that my strength lies not in those. One thing I refuse to write is actual sex scenes. Promiscuity is alright, but I outright refuse to do porn. But from what I've seen, I won't have to worry about that here, which is good. I'm kinda tired of justifying my desire not to write porn.

So far, Mizahar looks like an amazing world to RP in. Though the cities are rather isolated, they're busy enough that one doesn't have to travel so frequently, which I really like. It'll be kinda hard to get out of that mentality due to how quickly one can jump around from one location to another in D&D. But I'm pretty sure through interacting with the rest of you, I won't have that problem!

Though, I should mention this one thing that is a pet peeve of mine. I'm not a big fan of others being pushy about participating in threads with me. I am more than willing to collaborate, but if I'm having my doubts, please don't try to push me to see things your way. I'm more likely to oppose your idea that way than if you just gave the suggestion and give me time to decide for myself. I'm pretty sure I won't have this sort of experience with this community, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

Um, so, yeah. That's all I can think about to write I guess. Feel free to comment on whatever I've said, ask me questions, tease me for writing so much on an introduction post, or whatever. I look forward to RP-ing with all of you.

We've spoken in chat and I think I was there when you had first popped up and I have to say watching you get set up for writing has been pretty impressive. You seem well prepared and your character has come along nicely, as well as your understanding of Miz at large, and that stuff's important. I'm glad you've decided to stick around!

Thank you both for the happy welcome! Atticus, I'm pleased you think I'm well-prepared. I read, like, a lot of the lore before I even got into even thinking of joining. This sounds silly now that I'm thinking about it, but I take my RP prep seriously. What's the point of playing like you live in the world when you don't know anything about the world itself? That's just how I see things, anyway.

Lhavit does intrigue me enough to wish I could go there as well - the only downside to RP-ing in Sunberth is that it's on the opposite side of the world - and maybe my character will end up there someday, but I don't know if I could solve my desire for playing there by creating another character. I'm a college student right now, an English major at that, which means I already do a great deal of writing. Adding another character would just drain me in terms of writing. So yeah, if I end up in Lhavit, which would be cool, it will take a long while to get there.
