Super important, before you get too far be sure to read the starting guide thoroughly. You can find it here and it will get you on the right track in understanding magic and name capitalization and stuff. Mizahar is a very expansive, comprehensive game, so it's good to read up on at least the need-to-know basics before diving right in. Good luck!

You can definitely be a mage, but I strongly recommend you read this link in the CS FAQ forums. It outlines many cities views on magic.

For instance, The Spires is very open on magic, so long as the mage meditates and stays in control. You can find nearly every magic practiced in the Hidden City, and they do not fear it in the least. Its a growing and culturally diverse city, and is one of the top five most active areas in Mizahar.

I would also recommend Riverfall and Wind Reach, as they are both quite active and have very interesting views on magic.
