i am a student in my final year of study in London,UK for my thesis i have chosen to look into the world of the online community and its importance in the offline world. i’m specifically interested in ones with such well established and defined shared interests such as yours.
I am really interested in gaining a better understanding of how your online (and offline) communities work and what they offer the people who come together to create them. specifically i want to look at what roll the internet plays in terms of connecting people with shared interests.
Aside from the sociological aspect of yours and other communities i am also really keen to learn more about the personal experience of online communities/societies and to connect with anyone who is willing to talk openly to me about their own connection and experience with this community and also how you feel this community stands in position to other similar ones.
I am posting here to get an idea of how many (if any) people would be interested in talking to me about their personal experiences of websites such as yours and other communities, its worth saying that i am coming to this as a relative outsider, but one who has always had a fascination with the power of the internet to bring people together, therefore i am very open to anything you might be interested in telling me, im not here to snoop or be derogatory in any way, i am just really interested in what YOU think!
