Hi there!

Don't feel lost! The best thing to do is take things one step at a time.

First read through the Starting Guide. It's chock full of useful information and plenty of fiber. Then there's the Starting Package, to let you know what sort of stuff your character starts with.

When you get an idea what sort of character you want to make, just make a Character Sheet, and you're set!

I know the huge amount of information can seem overwhelming... the best bet is take one or two things to read first. Pick a race you like, and a city you like, and read up on them in detail. The other bajillion races and cities can come later after you've got the feel for the first ones.
