1. Name - or what you'd like to be called!
Well, I've a pretty simple moniker most know me as. Asiil will almost assuredly get a rapid response!

2. What sort of RP experience do you have if any?
A little of this, a little of that.

In all, probably around 6 years of RP experience, though the majority of it occured on an MMO known as Furcadia (perhaps you've heard of it? It made Guiness a couple years ago as the longest running MMO!). I was able to improve my writing and typing skills on that game, ironically, and learned a great deal from many of the other individuals who roleplay there about how to develop characters, what makes some stand out more than others, and where to find the style of play I preferred.

It carried me into forum-based RP a couple years after joining the Furc community, where I participated briefly in a draconic-based forum RP group as well as a writing.com cooperative creative writing, but my time became less available for online entertainment and more work-oriented. After around a two year respite, I returned to furcadia and re-established myself through my primary alternate (alt) characters, Asiil and Yonega. It was in this return to the game that I became more interested in realistic storytelling as opposed to the more layed back style that those of the came referred to as "persona-play". The realism I implied was taking into account all the little nuances of a particular species (say, an arctic wolf) and adapting it to play for a particular character. It was in this phase that I learned how to actually create a species (and have the information to back it up for those who showed interest in the species!). My adaptation of the less-known Song-dragon race of dragons into what became Asiil's breed (Sono-Alatus Lacerta) and Yonega's furcadian concept of a lycanthrope actually led to others in the larger community wanting to play those particular roles. Because my education stemmed from zoological work, particularly in regards to herpetological studies (that's reptiles), developing Asiil's race of dragon was a blast! Not many in that game will take the time to actually research what they want to play (if it's an original race or otherwise) and develop it to become the as realistic a creation as possible without waving your hand at it and saying "It is because it's magic."

However, the decline of active dreams (RP communities) in furcadia led me to seek other venues to write in.

While I'm not the most fluent and sometimes not the most creative, I still love to write. And that adoration has encouraged me to maintain my interest in roleplaying.

3. How did you find us?
Oh, just a general search on google for Roleplay Forums. Not having internet at home right now, I'm relying on my workplace's library to seek out the writing-frontier, if you will.

4. What sort of RP style is your favorite?
Guess that would depend on your definition of style.

I'm partial to paragraph writing, but not having much experience in forum-RP, my transition from furcadia-length (approximately 10-12 line paragraphs or less) to something more cultured to a place like Mizahar may be a bit slow. That this is a fantasy-world fits my preference perfectly. I have an interest in sci-fi, but I've never been able to follow the technological aspect of writing in that genre. Medieval to pre-Industrial/Elizabethan seems to fit my understanding better.

5. What do you like to write about - not write about?
As briefly mentioned above, I prefer a more Medieval to Elizabethan era type of roleplay as opposed to modern and sci-fi. While I'm not lacking for certain knowledge about technologies in the modern world, my ability to adapt that into science fiction is negligent at best. Of course, I must take into account that Mizahar is NOT Earth, even if there are some stretched similarities, so saying clothing from the Renaissance fits perfectly into this kind of continuity would be a bit farfetched.

Beyond that, I am fairly comfortable in most everything. From combat to romance, I understand the nuances of each. I am weakest, however, with combat, and strongest with psychological development. I find too much dialogue in an RP tedious (though necessary in some situations) and lose interest in the arc quickly until something draws the characters away from chat. I love the drama of a fight-sequence (be it epic or a simple mexican stand off), but struggle with actually performing a vs. post series between two (or multiple) characters. Thinking around those corners is a bit harder for me sometimes and I find myself often needing a nudge from the opponent OOC lest I be constantly taking hits that the character could otherwise counter.

6. Whats your favorite thing about Mizahar so far?
It's information. There is so much for a new player to take in. The world as a whole is extremely well-written (though I have noticed some grammatical errors...I'm so anal sometimes, and yet miss my own mistakes more often than not) and immersive. There's plenty of info out there for someone to make the character they have in mind without too much stress.

7. What, if anything, has frustrated you about Mizahar so far?
The information. Kinda contradictory right? There's so much info to read as you try to develop that ready-to-play character that it's somewhat overwhelming. I've found myself with a dozen or more tabs open during this research time to make my character. And while each page is important in its own right, the amount of information needed to make sure you neglect something equally important is mind-boggling! And I've been reading for two weeks! And STILL haven't finished my character sheet for Yonega! I finally decided I may as well just join the community and get my intro in now before I get too frustrated and move on, tossing the bio into the recycling bin.

8. What would you like out of the mizahar experience?
[color=#400000]I want to fit in foremost. I've struggled to maintain interest in other RP groups because my ooc personality often clashes severely with the rest of the community. I like to thing I'm friendly, but realistically I can be irrational, uncooperative at times, pushy when things slow down, and sometimes mean. It certainly isn't intentional, so I find limiting my out-of-character interactions with others safer. It prevents textual arguments, for one, and saves me the mental aggravation of being overbearing when I try to just simply fit in. As such, I doubt I'll be that talkative ooc unless it's to get information pertaining to a story-arc that's occurring so I can make my next IC post. Just...don't take offense, if I'm negligent in responding to something immediately or not at all.

Second, I want a place where my character can become truly involved in the story. She needn't be a major player, but we all like to feel a little special, right? Finding that niche for her eventually would be great.

9. Is there anything you'd like to see expanded?
Not yet. I'm still trying to get through just making my character!

10. Anything else you want to talk about?
I was called the Useless Knowledge Queen back in high school. I knew a little about a lot. Except animals. I just knew a lot about that. Guess that's why I'm poking my nose around the Kelvics first; finding comfort in the familiarity of a morphling will maybe make joining this other-worldly group easier.
