Birthday & Age: 32nd day of fall, 466AD (45)
Gender: female
Region:
Apperance K'ailah has pale blonde hair with silver streaks, usually worn loose or semi-braided. Her skin is pale, nearly translucent, and her scales shift between a blue-purple, blue-green and purple-green sheen. Her eyes are a deep amethyst colour. She has a delicate bone structure; slender and long. She is 5"7 and 105lbs, described most easily as willowy and graceful.
HistoryK'ailah is the first and only daughter of Khalie, a female who did not follow the general norm of konti society. She had left the White Isle and lived abroad for years, until she returned one afternoon in the early terms of her pregnancy. When she returned she took up residence and engaged with the other konti women once again, forming ties as she grew in her pregnancy.
When K'ailah was born she grew deeply attached to her mother, forming a very powerful bond with her. Khalie taugh her daughter many things, and emphasised the respect for all of life's creatures, and to be thankful to the animals that gave up their lives to nourish her body. Khalie also shared stories of her travels with her daughter, and the people she had met, of the world outside of Mura.
When K'ailah was ten her mother gave her journal, outlining her experiences and her ausristic power. She gave it to K'ailah for something to study from while she went in pursuit of another mate, but when she never returned it became the one possession that K'ailah kept with her as a connection to her mother.
When it became apparent that Khalie was not returning, K'ailah was adopted by another family group and was welcomed warmly. However, in spite of their love and acceptance, her deep attachment with her mother and the abandonment she felt pervented her from fully growing proper ties with her adopted family. So although she formed relationships they were neither permanent nor lasting, and she quickly became regarded as an odd child.
This isn't to say that she was not social, because she was. She was, however, a little withdrawn, and not as naturally open as other konti women.
As she became older she showed an aptitude and interest in botany and anatamy; how the body worked, how it healed itself, and what plants helped it heal quicker. She pursued her interest and refined and defined her techniques until she established herself as an apprentice.
She was a contributing member and did her work around the city, but when she had no duties she would wander off alone, locked in solitude. Often times she could be reading her mother's journal and practicing auristics, or quietly singing to herself, or collecting plants and herbs and marking their location on a map. Sometimes she would just walk, going wherever her feet took her.
PersonalityNo one can be explained in a few simple words. A general concept grasped, yes, but fully explained? No, and this truth applies to Kai'lah. She is thoughtful and considerate, solemn and demure. She is careful of what she says and how she says it. Since she is deeply involved with people - both emotionally and physcially (and would rather address the body than the heart) medicine and healing seemed like the natural choice. In this capacity K'ailah is quite gifted, and can often respond to the needs of her patients before they're even aware of them.
Kai'lah is very obeservant and driven, and once she's focused on something she's not easily swayed. Soft-spoken and outwardly calm, she is not prone to sudden outburst. She is emotionally complex and does not share her thoughts or feelings often; somewhat emotionally distant. That is not to say that she isn't empathetic or sympathetic in the least, as a matter of fact she may be to quick to sympathize.
She's open-minded; willing to consider other's opinions and think critically of her own. And she's a bit of a dreamer, indulging in her imagination once in a while.
Kai'lah is helpful - sometimes to the point that it's detrimental to her own situation. She's
very generous and is at fault for giving so much of herself.
Like most konti she is wise in the things she's learned, but she has little to fall back when it comes to personal experience and the world. Having never travelled outside of Mura before, she is naive about the people and places outside of her homeland.
Kai'lah is very spiritual, devoted to both Avalis and Rek'keli and is always sure to respect them and honour the two Goddesses.
Family HeirloomKhalie's journal is very dear to K'ailah, and even though the pages have been worn with numerous readings she still keeps it close to her.
