The Ristage Caverns have always been places of wonder. Even with the Womiyu living and training within their confines, none can deny the upper levels still shine with a natural beauty. Tricks of the light cause shadows to play over the walls, which in turn cause the carvings and images there to appear as if dancing. Of course, being Alvadas, illusions could be at work even here, so perhaps the carvings really are dancing? Who really knows?

Nobody knows how far the caverns span. The lower depths are rarely traversed and more often than not an adventurer would head down to never return. Did they perish? Or did they find another exit, perhaps to some other wondrous land filled with unknown treasures from before the Valterrian? Nobody knows. Those who do return never speak of what they find.

The tales and stories revolving around Ristage’s lower caverns have caused many a traveller to venture into their depths. Today would be no different. Two new adventurers were about to embark on perhaps their most dangerous task yet. Only time can tell if they can overcome the obstacles that caused so many others to perish.

OOCJust to set the scene up for you guys. Do whatever you like for your first posts. Prepare for the adventure or head straight into the Caverns. It's up to whoever posts first (:

Taking Risks in the Ristage (Kinneas, Miro)

15th of Fall, 511 AV

Kinneas smiled as he walked about Alvadas, Miro in tow, today was going to be an exciting day for the both of them. A day that they get to travel into the Caverns which was a mysterious place even to Kinne, who had grown up in Alvadas. As they walked he remembered back when he was a kid and his father had told him about the place and how the great guardians of Alvadas lived and even trained there. It was place filled to the brim with history and marvelous things to see, that he was sure about.

His steps were filled with purpose as he let the city guide him to the place he wanted to be. Even though he had just returned him he still knew the lessons of Alvadas and how pointless it was to get anywhere you wanted to in a hurry unless it was an emergency. It was a weird quirk the city had to it, it was as if the place enjoyed itself playing games with peoples minds and patience. Having grown up in the city his patience with its playful nature was all but infinite. However he wondered how Miro was holding up. They have been walking for half an hour seemingly in circles when Kinne told the boy that today they were going to go on an adventure. Just the two of them.

That was a promise that Kinne hoped he could keep, and even though it was taking forever for them to get there he still kept walking. His long hair tied neatly behind him, and his clothing falling loosely around him, he looked like he could use something to distract himself, and he knew that caverns was the right place. Even as a boy he was told not to go in there, and so in turn he told Miro that they could never go in there as well. What a quick change of heart, and for what? Did he really know what he was going to get them into? No, probably now, but he had heard the stories, and there was plenty of them...

Soon enough they reached the entrance to the Caverns, the gaping mouth of the cave looked less than inviting but he gave a glance to Miro and then a playful smile as he asked, "Are you ready?" If Miro was then he would take the first steps into the cave, the caverns were legendary, "Miro, you know what this place is called?" he asked wanting to know if the kid remembered some of the stories that he told him about the Caverns in Alvadas.

The light in there seemed dim and playful, the shadows seemed to move on their own accord making Kinne a little nervous at first sight. Even growing up in the city of Illusion he wasn't used to the creepiness of moving shadows. Grinning, happy with himself, he finally was in the place that he was told never to go into, a place that threatened his very existence, or so he was told. Stepping further in he walked up to a wall, the dancing shadows in the light seemed even more playful up close. Reaching a hand out he gently touched the surface of the stone, the rough carvings felt neat against his hand, and then he pressed on it, leaning against it some, as if trying to test it. "Miro, isnt this place neat? A perfect place for adventure, no?"

Taking Risks in the Ristage (Kinneas, Miro)

Postby Miro on September 7th, 2011, 1:04 am

Miro grabbed his cane and cloak and ran out the door after Kinneas. He was excited today, it was a good change from the usual Kinne. He hurried along after him. They were wandering for a seemingly endless amount of time. Miro become completely bored and was losing steam. "This adventure sure is exciting. Glad to see that Kinneas loves to force his boring lifestyle onto others." He snickered to himself quietly.

Miro was starting to drag his feet when Kinneas acted as if he saw something. Perking up, Miro hurried after Kinneas to the opening of a deep cavern. Kinneas asked him if he was prepared, and then proceeded on with the informative part of the day. Yawning, Miro shook his head. How would he know the name of this strange cave. He did not recall there being any sorts of hidden adventure holes in Alvadas, that would definitely stick out.

They started in together. The shadows and lights danced here, giving it a mysteriously inviting feeling. As if the caves were excited to have visitors. Kinneas asked something that made Miro stop in his tracks. "Are you feeling alright? I think maybe you've been spending too much time with me, I am starting to rub off on you." Miro smirked and walked up to his friend. He wrapped his arm around Kinne's neck then hugged him slightly. He began to fill his clothing under his cloak with a thick liquid res. "I think this place is quite perfect. Who knows what may lay beneath us."

Taking Risks in the Ristage (Kinneas, Miro)

Postby Kinneas on September 12th, 2011, 6:12 am

The light continued to dance on the walls, the dance of light and dark was a captivating one and he was sure just one of the many wonders that this place held. Laughing a little at Miros question, ”Well, five years with you sure takes its toll.” he said lightheartedly draping an arm around Miros shoulders and pulling him slightly closer.

With a friendly smile he began to explain, “This place is called the Ristage Caverens. Just saying those words made him shiver. He had heard so much about this place and expected quite the adventure. Else, why would he have taken Miro along? The last thing he wanted his friend to think was that he, of all people, was boring. No, that just would not do. So every once in a while Kinne would take a step out of his comfort zone and allow Miro to tag along to someplace with him as long as he deemed it not to be too dangerous. He was responsible for the ‘kid’ after all. Though, all in all, he was glad Miro seemed to be enjoying himself so far, and he was right, who knows what is inside these Caverns.

Guiding the kid with an arm still around his shoulder he began to lead them further into the cave, ”My parents told me that this was a dangerous place, and that I should never go here unprepared. They didn’t even venture through here, believe it or not.” He continued walking, taking slow and calculated steps to accommodate for the lack of light. The dance of light and dark seeming to grow more into just a dance in the dark as they went in further and further, ”I was told this is where the guardians of Alvadas used to live and train.” he informed his younger friend.

Yes, what a perfect spot for adventure. He kept on walking the shadows dancing now in the dimmer light of the cave. What was going to happen now that he went to the place that he was warned not to go? Were his parents right about the numerous adventurers never returning. Those thoughts disturbed him, but he kept walking on he wanted to show Miro that even he could defy authority sometimes and live life on a limb sometimes. He had to try to be fun, for the kids sake. So, his fate sealed, he kept walking a nervous smile on his face, but all this would be worth it if Miro has a good time. That he reassured himself about.

Taking Risks in the Ristage (Kinneas, Miro)

Postby Miro on September 13th, 2011, 11:51 pm

Kinneas began to act quite lighthearted and began to introduce the caverns. It seemed like the perfect place to be. The injuries he had gotten a few days ago were still causing him pain though. The wounds were doing well enough, but the pain was enough to distract him on a few occasions. It was nice to see Kinneas so happy and ready to explore. A dangerous place? Training? A new place for both of them to look through. Kinneas seemed to really be happy to be down here. Doing what he was told not to. "Being around me really has changed you a bit. I'm ready to explore. Right behind you...err, well more at your side." He shot a grin in Kinneas' direction, though he sensed a bit uneasiness coming from him. Miro smiled thinking that it couldn't be that bad, but even better if it was. He was ready to face any challenge, there were going to have a blast.

Miro started on now walking off to the side of Kinneas, giving them a bit of room. He stayed slightly behind him to keep out of sight. If Kinne were truly worried, he could use his Evantia mark. Miro wasn't planning on doing anything silly, he simply preferred Kinneas to take point. He casually drew his hands up to the back of his head, walking carelessly forward. His eyes had long since adjusted to the dim dancing light. The atmosphere was quite pleasing. For now at least.
