PC Name’s (Required)

Eirissatiataness or Taness

Physical Information (Required)

Race: Dhani (Constrictor)

Birthday & Age: 408 AV (102 years old)

Gender : Female

Physical Description

Eirissatiataness, or Taness for short, stands exactly 6’0” tall in her human form, rather on the shorter side by constrictor standards, but notably taller than many other races. Her long, lean body moves with the sensual, hypnotic grace of her kind, masking her capacity for making the sudden, lightning-fast movements that make her race so deadly. Her luxuriously long brown hair, which she usually wears in thick plaits, frames her face and high cheekbones, while her yellow eyes with their reptilian-slit pupils betray her true identity.

Her dhani form, a cross between her python and human forms, measures 19’1” in length. Most agree that the dhani form is the most terrifying of the three. Her sharp, angled teeth make it difficult—though not impossible—to speak any human language in this form.

Taness’ snake form is that of a python, and her cool, smooth scales are patterned with a confusing series of tan, brown, and yellow asymmetrical circles and diamonds. Stretched to her full, impressive length, she measures 38’2”.

Character Concept (Optional But Recommended)/Character History

As the youngest daughter in her family nest, Taness is generally treated with fond respect. She was the only female in her clutch, and her mother, Dandeelaheirissa decided that it was the last clutch she would ever lay. Taness' father, Tondurvarattileh is a skilled craftsman. Taness herself was primarily raised by her elder sister, Eirissatiaishya, and her upbringing was undertaken with great care to ensure that she lived up to her full potential. As a result of her sister’s fiercely protective care, Taness is now a skilled fighter, relying mostly on strategy rather than brute strength because she is smaller than many of her race. Her stealth and cunning have won her many a battle against larger, stronger opponents. However, she still has a long way to go in her training, especially in her human form.

She has just succeeded in truly mastering the change to this form, a source of great pride to herself and to the sister that raised her. Although hers is a tight-knit family nest to begin with, Taness was especially close to her brother, Eirissatiaotase, who had been born from the same clutch of eggs. Taness would fight to the death for Otase, and she has no doubts that he would do the same for her.

Unfortunately, her trust was betrayed one day when she and Otase snuck out from beneath their sister’s watchful eye to venture up from the safety of the caves into the ruins of Zinrah. They had run into some unpleasant Myrians, and while Taness tensed and prepared to fight for her life, she was astonished to see Otase bargaining for his freedom. “My sister,” he had offered in the sibilant speech of the Dhani, “for my freedom. She is worth more than I.”

Taness made it out of the ordeal with only a shallow gash in her side, which has since healed into a scar, and a broken heart. Otase fared much worse; not only did he return missing his left eye, he also carried the shame of his deed. Both of them were soundly scolded upon their return. Taness never told anyone of Otase’s betrayal. In the end, she didn’t have to. Otase, overcome with guilt, took his own life in Siku’s temple. Taness was the one who found his body, appropriately enough. Her face betrayed no emotion. Instead, she calmly bent down and pulled the dagger from his chest, pausing to wipe the blade clean on his shirt. The young constrictor had learned her lesson. To this day she carries that dagger as a constant reminder of his betrayal.

Now she trusts nobody. She is cold and calculating and, although outwardly friendly, her smiles never quite reach those yellow, yellow eyes. She has learned to be manipulative and is now very much accustomed to getting her way. On the rare occasions she does not, she plots revenge on the person that stood in her way. In fact, she can be very cruel if the mood strikes her.

Although Taness is a skilled fighter and generally distrustful, she enjoys basking in the hot springs as much as any other Dhani. When she’s not training, she’s probably enjoying the warmth and comfort of a long bath. She began learning to dance with every intention of becoming a temple dancer. She only knew very basic steps, but her teachers could already see potential in this young constrictor. Her few years of training for dance have honed her balance and coordination skills, both of which are very useful in combat.
