Intro from Ciera's POV
The moonlight shone on down on the seemingly deserted Katshika Falls, the nighttime sky was a beautiful shade of dark blue, empty if not for the tiny pinpricks of white, stars shining like shards of ice scattered across the vast sky. A woman with flowing blonde hair, bleached silver in the light stepped out from the shadows. She sat on a rock a few metres away from the relentless thundering of the waterfall, she appeared to be waiting for someone. What seemed like an age passed, then a second person came; a tall man with flame red hair and bright yellow eyes. He walked over to her and they sat talking, talking about what they should do. There love was a forbidden one; he was high up in Inarta society and she was a lowly dek. She was expecting their child but she knew that she could not raise the baby as her own and he could not say he was the father. Yeah, I know, I know. No forbidden love, nothing like that. Just another case of a one night stand between some high up Inarta man, my father, and a pretty dek who just couldn't refuse, my mother. And it ended in me, Ciera, being left in the large Inarta nurseries along with all the other "consequences" of pretty dek ladies who couldn't refuse. So I spent my 13 years in the Inarta nursery raised by commoners. I'm not saying my upbringing was awful or anything, I got fed, I got taught, I was clothed; there was just something missing, the commoners were bringing me up so they could eat; they did their job but they never really cared or loved us like a mother would her own, it was their job, they did no more than they had to. But enough about my past, I've got to focus on my present. I'm 13, I'll be 14 in a few weeks, and although I moved into the Yasi part of Wind Reach a year or so ago, I still haven't started any real classes. I'm hoping to become on of the Avora, the Inarta artsians but if I do not show massive progress soon I'm likely to end up as a Dek like my mother before me. I was taught in the nursery to accept whatever caste I am to be given, but although I wish to serve in our society as best as I can, I can't help but think the life of a Dek is a brutal and unfair one. Still, nothing is certain yet and I still have time to make an impression.
Ciera's Personalty
Ciera's acquaintances see her as someone who is very quiet and shy but once people get to know her they are shocked by how loud and chatty she is. Ciera is witty to the point where she often has to bite her tongue to stop herself fro insulting someone. She enjoys socializing but she also values her alone time. She is very creative and spends the majority of her free time drawing. Ciera is very strong willed and stubborn; it will take a lot of persuasion for her to change her mind. Her main flaw is her inability to take things seriously, she has more than just a good sense of humour; she is able to see the funny side of almost everything and is often amused by situations that are supposed to be serious.
