The Fish Stalls Throughout the food quarter of the trading square, a number of Myrians sell fish. With the rivers and Kandukta Basin and the proximity of the sea surrounding them, fish is a pretty common food in Taloba. Most fish is available either fresh, dried, or smoked; rarely, if ever, do the Myrians salt the stuff down, seeing it as a waste of fish and salt.
Most stands are simple - they may have baskets of fresh fish, there may be planks of fish drying in the sun, there may be large racks of fish split wide open, being smoked over fires. Fish prices tend to be based more on the sort of fish rather than the mode of preparation, for some are quite hard to land, and others require less effort and are far more common. When a Tiger Shark of considerable size is landed, there is often pretty large parties, and the meat is not sold, but shared as part of the celebration.
