While it is clear that he is in good shape, he is not a bodybuilder. What he is, is fast. Even as a child, he liked to run, and became quite good at it. Character Concept Nathanael is a hard man, and a closed man. He has little humour, and dislike those who do not take things serious. He is highly sceptical of magic, and those Marked by the Gods. He dislikes the meddling the Gods do, and believes it does more bad than good. He hates all methods of strangulation, and especially hangings, as they give him flashbacks to his childhood when he found his sister. There is not much pleasure in his life, he has taken it all away, but it will emerge from time to time. When he can forget about how horrible the world is.

Character History When Nathaneal grew up in Zeltiva, he was always a shy child. He disliked speaking to other people; it simply made him nervous. When he was nervous, he would stutter, much to the displeasure of his father. His father was a harsh man, and he would beat Nathaneal. But he got out easy compared to his elder sister; almost every night their father would slip beneath her sheets. As a child, Nathaneal did not understand what went on. At least not until he was ten years old, and his sister hanged herself. It was he who found her, and for the next year he would always wake from a nightmare about it. His father started drinking more, and the beatings occurred more regularly, Nathaneal only had two escape routes: His friendship with the girl named Aello and the family’s dark cellar where he could hide. The cellar was small, but it was dry, dark and safe and only he knew about it. And so life went on, Nathaneal’s stutter disappeared by the time he was twelve and his father died at sea two years later. Just when life started to improve, Aello’s house burned down and she left. Heartbroken, he left not long after. In Sunberth he met the old medic called Iohn. Iohn would help the wounded that could not afford a proper healer, or needed treatment with no questions asked. The two did not get along well, Iohn reminded Nathaneal far too much about his father, but what he could teach him was worth staying. For four years he apprenticed under Iohn, until he decided to leave for Syliras to learn more.
