A Sisterly Outing (Nica)

[Sera]

In her room, Sera tied her dress tightly, and admired her charm necklace she held out in front of her. Her eyes were a bright green. Excitement burned in her chest. Finally, a day where her and her beautiful sister could enjoy each others' company. She smiled and clasped the the necklace around her neck. Sera grabbed her cloak and wrapped it around her shoulders before leaving her room. She wandered down the hall and went outside. Once out in the air, she sighed and leaned against the Skyglow building, and then sat down, her back against the wall. As a few people walked by, she smiled and waved.

The afternoon sun was bright. Sera hugged her knees to her chest and rested her chin. Why was her sister taking so long? They were supposed to meet up outside. She sighed and jumped to her feet. After brushing some of the snow off of her clothing, she walked towards the door to go back in and bother her sister in her room. But right as she reached for the door handle...

[Nica]

In her room, Nica was in bed, asleep. The room was filled with soft gentle snores as result from her peaceful slumber.With the sounds outside awaking her, she opened her eyes slowly. She covered her mouth with her hand as she covered her yawn.

"Huh?" She noticed something wasn't right. Then she realized that it was afternoon already. She gasped, "Oh no! I overslept!" She quickly got dressed and fixed her hair. She knew that today was the day she was going to spend with her younger sister. She treasured days like these.

She reached to her neck to make sure her necklace was there. It was. She sighed in relief. She rushed to her bed and reached down under to put on her shoes. She paused for a moment to decide if she should eat something before she meets her sister. 'Maybe we can both eat something in a bit.' She continued her way to the front door and whipped the front door open to see...

[Sera]

Sera walked right into her sister, then jumped/fell backwards. Gracefully, she caught her balance, and then laughed. "Hello Nica! Sorry for running into you. You're late by the way." She stuck her tongue out at her sister and then folded her arms in front of her chest. "How did you sleep so late, shouldn't you be out doing something useful?" She pulled her hair around her left shoulder and brush through it with her fingers. Her sister was gorgeous. Sera couldn't help but smile at her. The young woman's eyes changed from a bright crystalline green to an amber yellow. Hopefully her sister wouldn't cancel on her. She shifted her weight and stepped back again.

"What are you standing around for? Come on, today was supposed to be MY day with you. So, let's make the most of it." With that said, she spun on her heels, and then began walking, assuming her sister would follow along. The smile on her face managed to widen even more. Her eyes glowed orange. It was funny how her emotions spun out of control when she was happy. She began skipping. She hummed as she skipped. "So, what are we going to do today, hm?" The girl asked, and turned back to her sister.

[Nica]

Nica bumped into her sister. She grabbed the door frame to keep herself steady. She heard her sibling laugh, "Hello Nica! Sorry for running into you. You're late by the way." Nica looked down at the ground embarrassed. 'I don't think I should tell her that I stayed up working on her birthday present. I hope she will like it.'

Nica was in deep thought when she heard her sister spoke again, "What are you standing around for? Come on, today was supposed to be MY day with you. So, let's make the most of it."

She watched Sera turn around and walk ahead, taking the lead of today's activities. Nica took a deep breathe of the fresh air and smiled. She watched Sera skipping and humming. She reached behind her to close the door and followed Sera.

"So, what are we going to do today, hm?" Sera said. Nica put a hand under her chin and thought for a short while. Sera turned to look at her.

"I don't know. Let's do what you want to today." Nica smiled at her adorable younger sister. Nica reached out to hold Sera's hand.

[Sera]

Sera squeezed her sister's hand. What I want to do? Hm... What do I want to do? She though to herself and continued humming an old tune her mother used to sing to her when she was younger. It was possible her sister would recognize it. "Well, let's just walk and talk!" Sera stopped in her tracks suddenly. "Oh! I have something to show you! I've been working to perfect it." She said excitedly and let go of her sister's hand. "Here, hold this?" She tore off her cloak and threw it into her sister's arms. "Watch this." A serious tone covered her face and she winked to her sister mysteriously.

Sera stretched her arms out to the side and moved away from Nica. Then she looked forward and began to sprint. She jumped forward and spun, flipping inwards, each hand and foot touching the ground twice, doing what resembled a double cartwheel. Once she landed, she spun around on her heels and then bowed. The smile on her face returned. Sera knew that Nica enjoyed watching her dance. And if this could be added to one of her dances, maybe she could find some sort of performing job somewhere. But no matter, it made her feel strong.

The girl ran back her her sister, her hair a complete mess, "What did you think?" She asked, and grabbed the cloak back. Her eyes were yellow with and overlaying spiral of blue in her left and red in her right.

She slid her left arm around her sister's right. "How's your art coming anyways? I know you've been incredibly busy lately. Have you been making some beautiful paintings?"

[Nica]

Nica watched her sister as she showed her new accomplishment. Joy filled her heart and soul. She knew Sera would be able to master anything she set her mind to. She watched Sera run back to her, her now wild hair covering her face.

"What did you think?" Sera asked. Nica wanted to hug her but before she could move, Sera slid her arm around Nica's and asked, "How's your art coming anyways? I know you've been incredibly busy lately. Have you been making some beautiful paintings?"

Nica tried to hide her smile. She knew her sister would know that she was working on another piece. She wanted this one to be the best. And she wanted this to be kept as a secret. Nica thought on how to react to this. Nica frowned at her sister and sighed. "I don't know what to do, Sera. Lately, every painting I do, it seems like it's not good enough. I feel like there is something missing. I have been staying up thinking what in the world it could be. Maybe, I just need a take a break and hopefully get some inspiration from our day today."

Nica walked forward and smiled at the sky.

[Sera]

"Doesn't seem good enough?" Sera whispered out loud in response. "But Nica, your art is beautiful. You know that. Everyone knows that." She sighed and looked down, watching their feet as they walked. If her sister was troubled about something, would she say it. Sera didn't know and that worried her. She glanced at her sister and squeezed her arm. "And yet you're smiling upwards."

Sera looked up at the sky. "I kind of hate winter. Probably because Morwen is off covering the rest of the land with snow. Maybe that's why you're stuck right now." It wasn't often that Sera spoke of Morwen. She usually reserved conversation of her for sacred times. Sera let go of Nica's arm and brushed through her hair with her fingers once again as they walked. Slowly she separated her hair into sections and started to braid it.

"Well we should find something to give you inspiration... But what inspires you anyways? Animals? Pretty things? Family? Friends? Oh, I know, it's me isn't it?" She chuckled and held her hands behind her back.

[Nica]

Nica smiled at Sera's words and shrugged her shoulders. She let out a soft laugh, "Maybe...."

She looked at the trees around her. "We will see."

Nica knew that she won't be able to keep Sera's gift hidden for long. She is never good at hiding anything. She loved giving precious gifts to her beloved sister. She loved seeing the rush of colors in Sera's eyes when she receives gifts, from curiosity to joy. Nica wanted Sera to have the most beautiful and most unique treasures. She wants to Sera to know how much Nica treasures her and how she would do anything to make her happy.

Nica looked at Sera, seeing her playful smile brought a smile to her own face.
"Should we get something to eat? Or at least something to nibble on?" Nica asked Sera.

[Sera]

Is she keeping something from me? Sera tilted her head to the side. I'm not sure what to say. Sera knew that if Nica was indeed hiding something, it was obviously something intended for or about herself. But nevermind that... she mentioned getting something to eat. "Food?" Sera smiled to herself. "Okay, let's go grab something." The younger sister responded and looked around. "How about we get some biscuits from a bakery and then go to the center of town so eat and watch some people go along their business, I know there are some great performers in this city, hm?" She suggested.

So Sera led the two of them to a bakery and stood outside. "I can run inside and get the food, or you can. Doesn't matter either way. Or we both could. Doesn't matter." Sera stammered. "I do have something to talk to you about though..."

[Nica]

Nica tilted her head to the side, curiously. 'Why is she acting like this? What is going on?' Then her stomach grumbled. Nica placed a hand on Sera's shoulder. "I will get something for the both of us. I really need to eat something right now, otherwise I won't be able to focus." Nica moved her hand off of Sera's shoulder and turned towards the entrance of the bakery. "I will be right back."

Nica headed inside the bakery. A uneasy feeling was settling in her stomach. 'I wonder what Sera has to talk to me about.' I walked up to the counter and greeted a friendly face. She ordered a few biscuits and waited. Nica glanced outside to see if Sera was still there. She was. Her back was facing me as she cheerfully waved at people she knew.

Nica was broken from her thoughts when a bag was placed in front of her. She placed the money on the counter, "Thank you."" Nica grabbed the bag and walked out of the bakery. Nica motioned her sister to sit at a nearby stone wall that we were able to sit on. She opened up the bag and grabbed a biscuit. She handed the bag to Sera. Nica took a bite of the biscuit and turned to her sister.

"So...what did you want to talk about?"
