Quinn was a fortunate soul, in that he was raised in Ravok in the coddling arms of the wealthy merchant Lark family; since he can remember, he has basked in the protection of Rhysol, and affluence forged by generations before him. Quinn is the second of his name, after his father Quinn Mordeco, though when he reached an age to realize his sire was of low stock, he adopted his mother’s family name as his own.
A life lived without worry of poverty, slavery, or the daily uncertainty of post-Valterrian civilization has left Quinn a frivolous, sardonic man with little care for the plight of outsiders. He spent much of his time in the company of his family, his cousins, uncles, and aunts; he learned the value of lesser nonhumans and he inveigled his way to Vernon’s good graces. Money and the Larks vied for his first love. His wife managed to come second, when he found himself playing the husband and father and not the libertine drunk; when she could no longer cope with such a reality, she ended their brief union and fell into the arms of another, leaving Quinn with their child. The ugly, twisted knot of the Lacun mark beneath his sternum is the only outward indication that Quinn feels any remorse at all in the matters of love lost.
Fate was kind to Quinn, in that he was gifted the delicate features of his hedonistic mother’s blood. His jet-black hair hangs in wisps around a diamond-shaped face; he is tall, shy of six feet, and wrapped in lean muscle; his skin boasts a pale olive hue; never one to be accused of not having money, he always dresses himself, and his offspring, in the finest tailored clothing and jewelled embellishments he can get his hands on.
