Summer 1st, 500 AV
The warm summer day spelled only fun for Aldiror. Outside was heaven and it could only be spent with his best friend, Canrehne. She was not like him but neither could care less as they were friends who enjoyed playing pretend, swimming, and exploring Zeltiva to it's very core. "Race you to the shop!" Aldiror says after he has already started running. "Hey!" Canrehne says and chases after the Ald who laughs at how far behind she is, but he wasn't looking forward and ran into a wall. "HAHA!" Canrehne cheers at him as she runs by and tags the front door of the shop. "Shut up! I let you win of course. You should thank me!" "Thanks Stonewall!" She laughs at the witty pun she made out of his name. Aldiror groans and punches her arm. "just get the swords stupid."
The day was mostly spent fighting with wooden swords they "borrowed" from the shop. Back and forth spitting comments of how she smells worse than a sailor without a bathtub, or how he fights like pig with a sword in its mouth. Before the day could be considered over, Ald posed a question to Canrehne.
"Hey Can? What do you think of climbing the entire mountain?!" He asks as if it was a dare. |

"The entire mountain, Stonewall? Looks like you're Stonehead as well! That's scary, I don't want to do that!" Canrehne spoke out, somewhat worried that Stonewall might do something which would suit his nature. Daring and very dangerous. "You are crazy if you think I'll start scaling a mountain. I really don't even know how to climb! Besides, I belong to rivers, lakes and such!" she said, smiling at her friend, Aldiror Stonewall. "So, what do we do next, Aldi? Run into more stone walls?" she said before chuckling a little, looking around, focusing at the port of Zeltiva with a smile on her face, happy that she could spend her day with Aldi and have heaps of fun whilst at it. Even though he was an Isur, she considered him a fun individual. Canrehne then looked at Aldi, pondering for a moment. "Hey.. maybe we should go swimming." |

"Swimming?" he detested. "You want to spend the first day of Summer doing something we've done every Summer before?"
Aldiror looked at her glaring eyes waiting for her response, but before she could say anything he grabbed her, threw her over his shoulder, and stated "You are going to the mountains."
It didn't take long before Canrehne was able to get free of Aldiror but they were already on their way so she said why not. They walked for a long time before either one spoke. Aldiror inquired, "What do you think is up there?" "I don't know" Canrehne said. "Monsters probably." "I hope so!" Aldiror was eager to plunge his wooden sword into the belly of a monster and save Can from its evil clutches. "Maybe there's treasure!" Enthused by his own words he began to climb very fast and started to gain some distance between Can and himself. He realized how far ahead he was, when suddenly he froze. Can yelled, "What's the matter Ald, scared of heights?" But Aldiror did not respond. She finally caught up with him and realized what had caught him so off guard. |

"Come on! Swimming is fun!" Canrehne said before he started carrying her over his shoulder towards the mountains. Upon setting her down, due to them being almost halfway, Canrehne decided to go with him.
"Are we getting any monsters killed, Aldi?!" she said, wondering what'll they find up there. Monsters? Treasure? Old, rare items? Who knows, there was only one way to find out - and they were doing it! Though Aldi stopped, Canrehne caught up with him.
"What's the matter, getting tired?" She said, panting heavily. The trip was exhausting for a child like her. |

Canrehne finally reached Aldiror after the grueling climb. "What;s the matter, getting tired?" She said, panting heavily. Aldiror didn't even acknowledge her presence. "Hey!" She snapped in his face. Aldiror was still as stone. It wasn't fear that glossed over his eyes, but respect. Canrehne looked ahead half believing something was even there besides more trees and rocks.
Her eyes in turn were fixated. Two bears were having a stand off. They circled as if having a battle with words. The first bear had had enough of talking and leap through the air, lifting his claw high in the air to strike. The second bear saw this coming a mile away and simply side stepped to the right. It countered with a huge right that crossed the shoulder of the first bear almost reaching its face. The first bear's anger swelled. Canrehne and Aldiror felt it rise off the bear like heat off of a fire. The rage set in as the first bear rose on its hind legs. The second matched its height but was fully unprepared as the first started the assault. With swings left and right the second bear was overwhelmed, taking blow after blow to the face and chest. It dropped to the ground in utter defeat. The first bear stood over the second and said "What you deserve, is finally yours." Using his hind leg, The first bear crushed the head of the second.
Canrehne almost stumbled back as she heard the bear speak. She looked at Ald expecting a similar response but he was in the exact position he was in when it all started. The second bear laid on the ground as a ghost revealed itself from its corpse. Heavily wounded the ghost fled leaving Soulmist behind. Though Can and Ald could not see it they knew it had left.
The first bear went inside a nearby cave, leaving the two children standing in shock and awe and horror. A ghost came forth from the cave and moved straight toward them. "Thank you for watching, children of Zeltiva." It stated in a voice that felt sweet to the ears but serious to the mind. "How someone or something can say that to children after an ugly battle, requires an explanation, hmm?" It looked at Can. "This was a battle to prove my strength over my opponent. I won't bore you with my history but know that you are the proof that I, Kas, am in fact stronger than that pitiful fool." They simply stared, Ald probably wouldn't remember his name but nodded as if he understood. "As I have fulfilled my purpose I will accept reincarnation, but first I will give you a gift." The ghost began to scream in pain as some of its Soulmist was carefully placed in a small spotless jar it had taken from the cave. "Please take it so I may move on!" In a voice no longer sweet, but in desperation. Can took it from the ghost who soon vanished.
Aldiror remained silent the whole trip home as Can observed the jar. "Hey, keep the thing he gave us for safekeeping. You know how I am with taking care of things." |
