Clasping his hands together and rubbing them in thought, he was too busy thinking of a way across Taldera they could use. He didn't know every route, but he certainly knew the basics of how to navigate the land. Though, he wasn't too sure with the tundra region, frowning and then looking her straight in the eyes if he could "not so sure, I'm gonna be honest Alea, I may have travelled through it but my pa was the one doing most of the navigation" giving a nervous smile, he didn't want her to think him useless "I'm not sure I know a path straight across towards this 'Mura' but I can navigate a map so ya' don't get lost."

Lunar was being extremely blunt, he only knew a few things about this region and none of it very well. Just from the city Syliras to the city of Avanthal was his general knowledge of Taldera travel, the rest was with his Pa to mark any definite land marks in the area. Something tugged at the back of his ghostly mind at this but he shrugged it off and hoped Alea would understand. Then this mentioning of it being in a library, would the library have maps also? No, probably not, they were usually always sold in the markets for high prices "hmm.." he scrunged his face up in contemplative thought.

"I'm not an expert.. Okay? I'm still learning too, but I've had more formal training.." he wanted that clear with her before she made a descision, he didn't want to be the reason she died in the cold. Actually, he didn't want to end up dieing with her either but the thought of his mother and sister somewheres out there in the world made him want to come with her. He didn't want to be abandoned again... Lunars voice warbled a chime as he ended clearing his voice in the process "Al.. Ahem.. Alea, uh, even though I'm not entirely useful, could I come too? I wanna find my ma' and sis.. and this might be the real motivation I need to leave this place..." Lunars voice lingered, hurt laced within his words.

The soul mist around him became eratically negative and the rooms temperature dropped a few noticiable degrees (he took no notice, being a ghost,) he was certain he saw the maps corner lift up very lightly but it could have been his imagination. Strange things seemed to happen when he began to feel two certain, destructive emotions.. Lunar had no way to explain them, and others explanations were too stupid to ever consider.

Friends Made (Alea)

Postby Alea Davenport on March 2nd, 2012, 6:25 pm

Alea was studying the map, concentrating hard, trying to make sense of it all, but it just didn't mean anything to her. She couldn't connect anything on the map to a real place, except maybe Avanthal, which was depicted with a fancy drawing of something that could have been either the Icewall Gates or Morwen's Palace. Alea wasn't sure, but she did notice that the picture labelled Avanthal was right next to the rough and curving line that seemed to mark the difference between land and sea. That made sense, she had been to the shore in Avanthal, even fishing there occasionally (though not recently, she realized with a mild pang).

The sound of Lunar's hesitant question distracted her from her musings for a moment, and she lifted her head slightly. "Hm? Of course you're coming. You can navigate a map; you don't think I'm going to let you go, do you?" She declined to be openly sympathetic, partly because she wasn't very good at it, but largely because she believed that sympathy wasn't very helpful. She felt that acting as though she took his presence for granted would be the most sure way of convincing him that she wanted him around.

She hoped she wasn't doing anything stupid; the room was getting colder again, and there seemed to be a breeze, even though they were in a completely closed room. She could only guess that these effects were a result of the strange boy, and this led her to wonder once again what exactly he was. He certainly wasn't human, or at least not any normal kind of human she'd ever heard of. He didn't seem to either know or be willing to talk about what he was though, so all Alea could do was observe and try to piece it together herself. Though how she was supposed to do that when she'd never met anyone like him was a mystery.

Running a mist covered hand through his hair, eyes wide, blinking he was surprised she would take him with! Oh joy, oh boy, oh joy! He could give a laugh of excitement, pure ectasy, he wasn't going to be left alone anymore! The very thought buzzed through his mind and he gave her a very genuine grin, ear to ear, if his eyes could have sparkled with life they would have. Ironically they remained the same snow white color, dead, ever somber as was his appearence, an image he never realized had changed with his death "I'm excited to travel with you then Ms. Alea!"

The map meant so much to him now, it was his ticket, it was his salvation to remaining noticed by a few. To have friends, what his father had taught him was useful for once!

Lunar could not hide it in his voice, in fact, he couldn't hide it in his actions either. Bending sharply fowards, he only passed through her a bit and maybe she even felt the very light squeeze but he had meant to give a hug. He wouldn't realize how bad of an idea that was to follow an impulse, he thought he was normal anyways.

Friends Made (Alea)

"PETCH!" Alea screamed in shock as she tumbled backwards. That was COLD! She sat there rubbing her arms furiously for a bit, trying to recover from the extremely cold experience of touching Lunar. Though... had she touched him? She may have felt a slight pressure, but all she really remembered was a feeling like being doused in frozen water.

As much as she liked Lunar and wanted to be nice to him and indulge his desire to be seen as normal, there were certain times when self-preservation took precedence. With slightly chattering teeth and a bite in her voice, she said, "Okay, if we're going to be friends, I think we need to lay some ground rules. First of all, you are PETCHING COLD, so no touching without warning! Secondly... well, if I think of something later, that will apply too."

Looking at Lunar's expression, her voice softened a little as she added, "Look, I do want to be your friend, and I will. So you don't have to pretend you're human. But you are really cold, like, colder than Avanthal." And idea formed in Alea's head, a theory about what Lunar could possibly be. Maybe he was some sort of winter spirit, or spirit of Avanthal or something. She wasn't sure such things existed, but before leaving Denval, she hadn't been aware of animals who could turn human either. She wanted Lunar to be comfortable being himself, if only because him pretending to be human was confusing for Alea.
