Base Camp (Away from any major buildings)
Spring 91st, 512AV Afternoon

There was a wistful sigh coming from the edge of the camp, like a quiet breeze of ones conscienceness. What was the little thief doing, as she sat there with her legs crossed, an elbow perched on one knee to hold up her chin in her hand whilst the other hung limp across the other knee. Eyes shut, rapidly flickered underneath the closed lids of her golden honeyed orbs, what was this little woman doing? Deeply she inhaled and then exhaled slowly, as if trying to mimic ones sleeping patterns sitting upright in the open. Whatever she was doing, it seemed to others she could have been meditating on a great many deal of things. Anyone who thought this was partially right, though the little thief didn't know what she was doing was actually called 'meditation' all she was trying to achieve was mental calm. An idea that had sparked within her mind on the first time she had met Jakobi, before she had been greeted with the lovely Sharenas snout.. Was that what a horses mouth and nose was? Ana couldn't tell.

Nope.
Nope.
Gods petchin', heckin' dernit!

Ana let out an exhasperated groan, she had strayed off from the mental calm once again for the umpteenth time this afternoon. Grasping her head she began to pound her head lightly, slowly, with the base of her palm into her temple as if trying to beat the emptyness in. Sighing, she stopped the useless and comical beating of her skull with a hand and set the apendage to the ground, letting the grass poke up and inbetween her fingers with its vibrant green strands. Like hair, the grass reminded her of a coat of hair only it was far more plant like. Nope, there she went again, getting off task, snapping her eyes open she glared hard at her thoughts.

"Focus," Ana hissed at herself darkly, mimicking Shroud in a sense.. As if wishing he were there with her right now to heckle her for her inability to stay on task.

Trying once again, her hand remained where it was for the sake of trying to keep on task. Letting the pale milky white of her hand graze the blades of green absent mindedly, feeling every edge, taking in every detail she could from touch. Breathing slowly, in, and out, she wanted to assimilate the very grass itself through morphing, in, and out, her eyes began to cease fluttering underneath her eyelids as her mind began to take on a relative calm once more. Trying extremely hard, she kept any and every thought out of her mind this time, with a mimickry of a Shroud memory reminding her of how useless she was.

Nope, she let that thought fade away. No Shroud, no outside world, no revenge, no Spires, no Jamoura, no needing a bath, no nothing, everything, anything at all.

Feel the Green, Become the Grass (Solo)

Ana wished to mimic the idea of sleep, when one slept they became calm and thus could allow their minds to roam on the events of the past day. Becoming, writhing, churning dreams or in the little thiefs case, awkward night terrors that kept from getting the much needed idea of rest. Even if she tried, it seemed to be a rather hopeless endeavor lately what with her inability to fall asleep now. Her mind was simply too active, too use to staying awake for long periods of time and it reflected on her mental health. Suprising people with her almost perfect, yet imperfect memory, remembering only what she needed to but not what she wanted to. It was becoming quite problematic, as well as the constant headaches that bombarded her mind through the sore muscles around her eyes. Bruises covered both upper and lower lids like nasty strikes of a fist to ones face, and so the idea had come to her that she needed to empty her mind to even try to sleep.

The idea had begun to work, if it hadn't been for Jakobi and the coming morning that had seemed to be days ago.

Chest rising softly, then declining slowly, she was almost about to fall asleep when she needed to shake herself awake and away from the abyssal night terrors that waited for her. Her eyes shimmied open, tiredly, with a great sigh of a much needed rest she set to work once she had achieved the feeling she so desired. Emptyness. It was a simple idea, one easier said than done and her mind kept straying to random thoughts and each time she continued to strike them down. Halting. Pausing anything she thought of and let it fade away. Then that was when she took into account of the grass underneath her skin, green, fingers, she wanted green fingers. Looking to the blades of vibrant green grass with slurred vision, she envisioned her hand in front of her. Just as hers was now in front of her face, glancing back and between the grass repeatedly, pushing up the color like a haze of smoke into the image of her head. Letting it bubble, the djed that lay beneath her skin, slowly she grasped for the strands flowing like veins in her hand. Watching, or rather feeling the energy pick up once, then twice, she continued to push the djed up to be formed, to be morphed.

There was a birds call nearby, breaking her concentration with a fury of anger "Petch!" Ana cussed, voice shaking as she tried to restrain to a shoutish whisper. Glaring up at where the sound had come from, wide awake once more.

NO! No! No! Ana repeated to herself mentally as she lost the small grip she had on the djed under her skin. Why?! WHY?! Hunching, her shoulders shook in anger towards the creature, she had been so close. So close it wasn't even funny. To be disturbed by a bird, how pathetic, the voice rang in her ears. Furthering her to continue on, to try again until she could achieve what she wanted. Stubbornly she began again, inhaling, exhaling, attempting to let the anger that bubbled slowly in her subconscience to bury itself deeper till it wasn't there anymore.

Feel the Green, Become the Grass (Solo)

You're a fool and can't do it, you'll always be useless; Ana listened to the imagined Shroud. Grimacing at him in her mind. It was a largely exhagerated Shroud response, to her it was just him just being him, a big, but handsome arsehole.

Halting her task for but a moment, she brought both hands to her face and buried it into them frustratedly. Thinking like this wasn't going to get her anywhere, but it was certainly acting as a motivator to do her best. What was she hoping to gain from this? Anas initial idea had been to proove her use to the group, by acting as a scout, to count the numbers and masses within the Spires. Even if she couldn't catch an animal by herself, she could certainly help by giving her family locations to animals around. Camoflauge was needed if she were to stealth effectively, and with the camoflauge needed the brushes and the branches, as well as the grass, the leaves, flowers, bark and colors. Though she was limited to little changes, it wouldn't take her long to hopefully get together a camoflauged outfit to hide in. Yes, this was the plan, Ana felt the validity of her task once more to try. Failing this wasn't an option.

With a sigh, she began once more to attempt to achieve the task at hand "remember, focus, empty, calmness, sleepyness.." Ana let her voice trail with difficulty.

Emptyness, she let the dark of her eyelids permeate her thoughts. Nothing but the black expanse of ones covered vision, hanging her head slowly with chin towards her chest she began to breathe normally. Inhaling, she counted, exhaling she let the numbers drift off, in, numbers, out, begone! Slowly her mind began to drift off once more, with the effects of still being awake from that last disturbance. Inserting a single thought, grass, green, her hand, it all began to take place as she lifted her physical hand to her eyes with the vision of one within her mind. Like smoke, she plucked at strands of djed to crawl up into her fingers, letting the energy churn, shift, and roil about within the tips of milky white and nimbleness into green pieces of flesh. Flickering her eyes between the green of the grass to the warbling of grass green fighting the milky white for control over dominant color within her skin.

The change had been slow, it had taken dozens of chimes and even more to finally get the affect she wanted. Having of let the green remain there, her fingernails still light pink but the flesh surrounding them was now a grassy vibrant green. Feeling rather confident, Ana began to envision the djed travelling down her fingertips slowly to engulf her hand, feeling a strain upon her mind as she did so. Still whispers urged her to continue on, a rather unthought of smile crossed her lips towards the feeling and began to listen to the whispers within her mind. To continue on, past the sticks for fingers into her palms and even her wrists, more djed would be required for such a task though. Ana thought back with reason, yet the whispers seemed so sweet.. So.. Safe.

More

Was the only thought Ana had towards the whispers, she wanted to proove to anything and anyone, everyone, but mostly to Shroud that she could go farther than measly fingertips. Cringing her eyes in thought, concentration, as she continued on to pick even more strands of djed beneath her skin for further changing processes. With a big sigh, she worked her way downwards even further still feeling her energy waning. How ever was she going to do a full body color change if she stayed in the safe zone, besides going out of it still felt safe. The whispers encouraged her to go on, taking a risk was fine, challenges were the best thing ever to be invented in the language of all sentientalkind! Smirking, she pushed more up, and more, more, without realizing how far she was about to go.

Hissing as her skin felt like it began to sizzle as more green took over the white of her skin, she halted, the awkward buzzing pain stopped her. The pain had been enough to break her out of her thoughts, even though the whispers tried to comfort her that everything was all right. Nothing bad was going to happen, that the pain was natural... No, no, another voice strained to be heard, Anas subconscience was weak, quiet, but it was there and it was warning her to beware of the seemingly comforting other whispers. Ana shrugged the voice off for a moment, confident that she could get another centimeter into her skin, with concentration focused on her arm now. The limb was partially grass green, pass her hand growing into her wrist, forgoing the thumb just like a straight bar of green going down her skin. The unnatural color wasn't even half way to her elbow, not even a fourth of the way there.

With a dissapointed look, she wanted to get more in, more.

Stop, Anas conscience pleaded lightly with her, the whispers pushed the reason away.

Honestly though.. It had the small thief thinking, so focused on becoming a plant to help her family, to proove her usefulness. Ana hadn't noticed a child Jamoura had come up behind her, being such a curious being that when he prodded her shoulder. The small womans concentration broke, fleeing the touch with a sharp flinch and turning around onto her elbow, hand that was formerly green had now rebounded back into white as it gripped the hilt of her blade "wah?" Ana let out gasp of suprise. How she despised being snuck up from behind, if she hadn't of known better, she probably would have striked out at the child thinking it was Ximal trying to ambush her.

The child Jamoura seemed taken aback, and even aprehensive of the thiefs reaction now "what'cha doin..?" She asked, taking a few steps back somewhat worridly.

"Uh..." Ana wasn't sure how to answer, magic had been rather forbidden to be practiced in Sunberth "..sitting..?" Ana answered uncertainly.

The child jumped on all fours, somewhat pouty and unimpressed at the answer "really? That's boring!" She could have possibly thought Ana was doing something of real interest.

"Sure, I guess it is...." The small thief relaxed, letting her hand fall away from the hilt with a sigh and a dark look to the sky "what ya' want?" There was an edge to the thiefs voice, still rather disturbed for having of let her mind go so far away that she didn't sense someone coming up behind her.

"Wanted to know what you were doin, you seem so lonely over here! Do you want to play?" The child Jamoura inquired cheerfully now, relieved to see that she wasn't about to be attacked by a silly human.

Staring at the child, somewhat.. Oddly "play...play what? I'm sort of busy.." Ana objected lightly, feeling a wash of nausiea come over her as she attempted to sit upright. The morphing had left her feeling energyless, empty even, what she would give for a big stu right now.. Or at least some sleep.

"Tag? Hide and seek?" The Jamoura grinned comically at Ana as began to tug at her arm, only to have her hand shrugged off... well pryed off "but if you're sitting..Then you're not really doing anything.."

Slowly, Ana shook her head, remembering when she too wanted to get an adults attention "fine, fine, you have a point there.." Still, she didn't want to let on she knew magic.. And hopefully the child hadn't seen anything "hide and seek it is then," Ana began with a tired smile; this wasn't going to be fun, but she could at least relax a few moments before getting back to working on her plant disguise. Plus it would give her a good idea of where there could be hiding places for items she wanted to steal.. Yes, and even hiding places if Ximal decided to let the abomination out of his mind to try and track her.

"Yaaay!" The child Jamoura rejoiced, excited, happy to have another playmate!

The whispers beneath her conscience told her to leave the child, to continue on, but this time Ana wouldn't follow them.. Not completely. She would continue later on at night. Gripping Anas hand suprisingly fast for the little Jamoura, she began to pull Ana back to the basecamp to begin the game there where the buildings were.
