Fine dining has a name in Riverfall. That name is The Almond Blossom. Everyone who has a special occasion, visits from relatives, something to celebrate or who simply just wants a decent delicious meal at a very reasonable price comes to the Almond Blossom. Hosting a large amount of seating, The Almond Blossom has the privilege of tending to keep its current customers for hours over pleasurably meals rather than cycling them in and out during breakfast, lunch and dinner hours. The management doesn't mind lingering folk, so the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming to those in celebration. Tucked into a cozy little building between the City Council Chambers and the Earth and Life Science School, this lovely restaurant is swathed in decadent fabrics and painted rich warm hues. The furniture is heavy, consisting of big wooden pieces. Each chair is stuffed and covered with brocade fabric. Each table is decorated in a quiet reflective way. Earth tones dominate the space as do woven rugs from Ekytol covering hardwood and muffling sound. Musicians often play in unobtrusive corners, but nothing more than a soft harp or glittern. Plotted plants are not uncommon nor is the seating outside in a private courtyard that is muffled by green vegetation from the doings of both the Council and the School. It has been speculated that before Korana put her mark on Alakak cuisine, that the culture as a whole was woefully stuck on meat and potatoes withe the occasional smattering of fruit and cheese. Korana changed that, introducing fine quality meals, excellent service, and an upper crust social scene that allows people to dine for the pleasure of dining not just to feed themselves. Korana got a business loan from the Council, opened the Almond Blossom, and had it paid for within a single year. She is an inspiration to Konti and all foreigners about how immigrants to Riverfall can make their dreams come true. Her Chef, Dolmar, seems somewhat infatuated with her. But much to the whole city's chagrin, everyone knows this fact but Korana. Dolmar loves to cook. His joy in his duties ooze from every pore of his being and reflect in his eyes when he hears the hint of a new technique or a new food source. Many times the Almond Blossom has played host to his creations and its due to his vigilance as a cook that people keep coming back. Dolmar is fair and often takes apprentices and trainees under his belt. He always has need of kitchen help, but is very selective of who he picks. They must be clean, polite, and willing to listen. They must also treat Korana with kid gloves.   Menu Menu For The Almond Blossom All meals are made-to-order and are rich Akalak cuisine. Fine dishes of local fruits, nuts, cheese, meats, breads and wines are what are primarily available. House Plate Selections- This covers individual plates of anything from meat to breads or fruits and vegetables. They are not full meals. One receives a plate of meat, a plate of fruit, or a plate of cheese. A bowl of sliced bread is also included in the price. Multiple plates can be ordered. A fine house wine or a pot of tea is served to accompany it. . All food and drink is considered as a rule, above average quality. Cost per person: 5 GM Chef's Pick- A wonderful meal for one including two main dishes; usually a fine meat and exotic fish or poultry served with a variety of breads, selection of original dipping sauces, a fruit and/or vegetable plate and choice of fresh water, exotic fruit juice, warm cider or tea and elven dessert. Cost per person: 8 GM Almond Blossom's Feast- A grand meal for one including three main dishes; exotic meat, exotic fish and poultry served with a variety of breads, one-of-a-kind elven sauces, exotic fruits and vegetables and a choice of fresh water, exotic fruit juice, warm cider or tea and two plates of elven dessert. Choice of wine included. Cost per person: 15 GM
