Zeltiva CS Template Physical Description Name: Hayreddin "Red" Tide Race: Svefra Age: 34 Birthday: Summer, Day 15, 478 AV Physical Description: Hayreddin is an odd looking man, standing at six feet and weighing one hundred and ninety five pounds. One would expect him to be kind of large and muscular, but the truth is he is quite the opposite. Hayreddin's physique is that of a tall and lanky person, though where as tall and lanky people typically do not have a lot of strength, Hayreddin possesses exceptional power. This is because his muscle is knotted and corded all throughout his body, so tightly knit together that his body appears to have shrunken in on itself. When hitting or touching him, Hayreddin feels like an iron door, though he isn't one literally as much as he'd like to claim. His eyes are a piercing blue much like the rest of his race and tend to go against the grain of his rugged appearance. Upon his body he has many white lines, scars from many battles fought while serving on the naval vessel "Tide Queen". He also has a few of them about his face, but most notably there is a long one going right down his left eye. Most of the scars are hidden by his overabundance of hair which falls about his head and face. Though it is not as wily and wiry as some may assume, but is rather neat because Hayreddin keeps them braided. This goes for his long hair that drapes across his back, as well for the facial hair that falls about his chest. The hair is kept out of his eyes due to a rough and dirty bandana and a nice hat, causing most of it to just fall behind his head. As for clothing Hayreddin would prefer to go shirtless, but seeing as the world is a very dangerous place he wore studded leather armor which is covered up by a large brownish coat that falls down loosely about his entire body. Hayreddin also wears some sturdy brown leather boots which can only be seen by the tops. Character Concept Hayreddin was the first mate on a vessel known as the Tide Queen. While he was the second in command, he preferred to dabble in the arcane arts rather than focus on his task as second in command. The only reason he kept it was because he was well liked by the crew. While he cared more about magic, his second love was obviously the sea and sailing, hence why he stayed on the boat for so many years. Though it would be decommissioned to cut costs, which would then leave him stranded to land. He would then find hope with his friend Fiddler and take up the offer to become a Mercenary. He found this a great chance to advance his skills as a Mage, and as a Sailor. Personality: Hayreddin is an eccentric man who enjoys the oddities in life, often plagued by an infallible urge to understand but lacking the facilities to properly engage his intellect. It is why he tends to hang around other weird people like himself so that he may understand things that he did not before. He is an adventurer and a man who seeks to better himself through experience. This urge to know and understanding caused him to delve in to Auristics. Though his curiosity and desire to understand more would cost him. He would strive to learn more about all forms of magic, and it would scar him. Hayreddin is plauged by bouts of odd actions and addictions. He is a nice guy to be around, well spoken though the things he says may come off a bit strange. This is simply because his sense of humor is a bit crude and because magic has its price. An after effect is that he has become a bit bipolar, often switching form a happy go lucky kind of a guy with serious issues, to a serious, no nonsense type person. Character History Hayreddin was destined to live his life at sea forever, fate had determined it to be so by birthing him as a Svefra. To even further this he was born on the Suvan sea during the middle of the night during a storm. Hayreddin didn't really see much of his birth father, because after he came to the pod and had sex with his mother, the man left and went about his business. Hayreddin spent most of his time with his mother who was a kind and free spirited woman who loved the sea as was common with the Svefra people. Hayreddin learned many of his "manly" skills from various males whom he came to know as brothers over the years. One day he came to meet a mysterious Svefra who often talked about serving in the military. The thought intrigued the young adventurous Hayreddin, and so after saying goodbye to his mother he left to the port town of Zaltiva where he joined up with their Navy at the age of seventeen. He opted to forgo his pod name and instead came up with his own last name of "Tide". After some time spent in Zaltiva he was finally commissioned to a Ship by the name of the "Tide Queen". During one of their battles fending off pirates he came upon an interesting man whom had been spared due to his obvious non pirate nature. It was obvious that this man had been a prisoner of their vessel. Heyreddin was immensely curious as to why the Pirates would capture and keep such a seemingly harmless man alive. Upon many talks the man and Hayreddin would become friends, and in time the old man would divulge his minor knowledge in Auristics to Hayreddin (Now 20). His small skill in Auristics would further is curiosity in to magic as a whole. Hayreddin would task himself with learning as many forms of magic as he could, without fully understanding the risk it would have on his psyche and body. Hayreddin would leave the Tide Queen during one of their "leave" periods and would task himself with the understanding of magic, for years he would do this during the so called "vacations" and soon he would be well versed in all kinds of magic. During his time upon the Tide Queen Hayreddin had many friends, for he was a well liked man, but his closest friend was a man named Murphy Fiddler, and when the Tide Queen was put out of service, Hayreddin (now 34) followed Fiddler to pursue a new career of being Mercenaries, though in truth he figured that being with Murphy would expose him to more forms of magic which only added fuel to his desire.
