Considered one of the most mysterious cities in Mizahar, Alvadas is called The City of Illusions. It is the home of Ionu and the notorious Inverted. This city sits on one of the main crossroads through The Region of Kalea.

Summer 13, 512 AV
Blizzard led her horse through the Gaping Maw then mounted once inside the cobbled streets. She examined her surroundings Nothing like Avanthal at all. she thought. She clicked her tongue which made her horse go from a slow walk into a slow a trot. She looked to her right to see some place called the Sanity Center. For some reason I think it was a crazy idea coming here. Her horse's hooves made a clippity clop sound on the cobbled road. Her sensitive ears could overhear a conversation going on around her but she didn't bother to try and pinpoint the source. Better not look at people, could be considered rude.
She steered her horse clear of an elderly man walking in the streets. Her stomach grumbled Great! Surely someone can point me in the direction of a restaurant or two. She clicked her tongue again that engaged her horse into a quick trot which also increased the rhythm of the clippity clop of the horse's hooves. She passed a young man, then made her horse do a u-turn "Hello, sir! I was wondering if you could point me into the direction of a restaurant or two, please?" The young man smiled "Uh yeah, umm, well there's The Withering Rose up ahead but that's just for Dinner and Midnight drinks if you know what I mean. Uh-" he scratched his head "I can't help you much more than that. Try the Wolf's Cave Inn for lodging. It was made for Kelvics, Symenestra, those kinds of races." She smiled "Thank you. Wait, how did-" he interrupted "Those feline teeth are a dead give a way." she smirked then walked off.
Blizzard turned her horse around, still a bit dazed, then sighed and clicked her tongue sending her horse into a brief walk.

"Wherever you're going in such a hurry, you're going the wrong way."
Calling from to the horse rider from an out of place bench carved with the utmost beauty sat the Vantha, just watching the streets move by. She was eating an apple, one of a bunch purchased at the Bizarre. Fresh fruit was hard to come by, but the price was well worth it. The crisp skin broke easily under her teeth, the flesh tasted succulent.
Count on Alvadas for having good food. She half expected it to taste like dirt.
"See, down there, a statue will throw insults at you." She pointed a finger, hoping the girl on the horse followed it. "Of course, with Alvadas, you never know if the Idol Slanderer is down the other way."
"Also down there, the streets are made of marbles. You should stay over here, where everything is normal." How sarcastically she said that before taking another great bite from her apple surprised her. Honestly, was the woman on the horse new to the city? No one stops to listen to directions in this city, for good reason.
"I think the place you're looking for is back down that street." This time, she pointed with the hand she held her apple in. "If it's not, just come back." She smiled grandly at the woman on the horse her advice dispensed.
ReceiptSix overpriced apples: 6 gold Mizas. Anishna better eat them sparingly. |

Blizzard halted her horse in his tracks then turned it towards the woman sitting on the bench. With a light tap from her heels, the horse walked forward slowly to where Blizzard was in front of the girl on the bench. Her horse sniffed at the apple in the woman's hands but Blizzard pulled the reins back swiftly and the horse jerked it's head back into correct posture with the faintest snort of protest but listened in the end.
I don't like this riddle speak. "Actually I was looking for The Wolf's Cave and was planning on heading to The Withering Rose tonight? I just rode in from Avanthal because it was quite, well, boring." Her eyebrows drew together in confusion "But seriously this place is very... unique? And Idol Slanderer? Never heard of it."
She looked down the street the woman hinted at with her apple wondering if she was lying and also debated against herself to whether go the way the young man had said or this woman. She'd had bad experiences with both genders in the past, but she'd also had great experiences with both as well. But she also had to remind herself that this wasn't Avanthal. There was no Frostfawn. There were no Dire Kelvic Polar Bears. She huffed "I guess I'll try your way, but I seriously am not in any mood for trickery." She turned her horse in the direction of the street and clicked her tongue. "Although, I'm not sure this city was the place to go."

"You're not in the mood for trickery?" Anishna raised her brows at that. "Well, in that case, you might want to try out the House of Broken Mirrors. It's a very serious place, and you might find something there you didn't know about yourself.
"Otherwise, Alvadas isn't a serious place."
Her eyes were blue, shocking against the dark colour of her hair. She finished her apple and tossed the core aside.
"The Wolf's Cave is kind of a rough place to frequent, I've heard, and you're just a girl. I hear the men are like animals there. And the Withering Rose is a nice place. I bit rough on the nose, but generally appealing.
"However, you can rest assured that you might not even find either place no matter where you go." The Vantha tried not to be too condescending or mocking. Oh, how fast she had learned when she came to the city. Honestly, it was best to lose hope for a chance of sanity early.
She got from her bench and went to go stand at the side of the horse woman, easily dwarfed by her atop her grand steed, and sort of made a show at gazing off into the distance in the direction she was looking.
"This city will chew you up, spin you around, and then knock you off your horse and on your ass if you don't open your mind to some of it's more, or even less, amusing pranks. For instance, a few chimes before you came up, the Withering Rose was just across the street from my bench. So, you missed it. Who knows when or where it will pop up again." She laughed merrily for a moment, and the blue shot through with rich purple for a bit with her amusement. "Alvadas will probably make a game of this. Y'know, of you finding a place to eat. Smile a bit. Alvadas likes people who enjoys it's jokes."
She stretched big.
"Now, I'll probably be going home, if Alvadas will let me." Anishna reached forward and patted the long neck of the horse. She never really liked the beasts back home, in Avanthal, but she had been around enough of them to know how to pat one.
"You could come for a walk with me, but get off the horse. I don't like having to crane my neck to see who I'm talking to."
DateWhy did the day change in your second post? O_o |

TimeSee I have the little notes on my browser desktop that way I can just copy my code for my post template instead of going up and modifying to get the code and the timestamp was still in the there from where I copied. But I fixed it.
Nuh-uh! It's either to Wolf's Cave or The Withering Rose then we're outta here. Her stomach grumbled. Gotta wait. "Thanks for your offer but I'm good on the House Of Broken Mirrors. Sounds to me as if it should've just been named House Of Mirrors since the mirrors more than likely aren't broken." She smirked, for she was beginning to start to think she could master this little trickery/sarcasm thing everyone seemed to be playing. Alvadas isn't a serious place. the words repeated and repeated in her head. "I've heard. And just a girl? Haha! Of coarse I am! No more to it than meets the eye, right?" She thought she'd join in on this little sarcasm game and maybe keep her guessing as long as she didn't show her teeth.
So from what I've pieced together I've either gotta play along, or die of starvation. Great! "But exactly how am I to open my mind?" She dismounted her horse and led to beautiful white creature over beside the Vantha. She saw her eye colors change. It was a dead give a way. "So do you ever miss Avanthal?"

"That attitude there is what will make you go crazy in the city. There is always more than meets the eye to something, but not to you, because you're just a girl with a horse who came to Alvadas for food."
She smiled inwardly at her own cleverness.
"Avanthal? I don't miss it," the Vantha lied smoothly. She wasn't going to have this conversation with a complete stranger so inept at realising her own peril by being in a city that liked to draw things out as much as possible. However, did it mean this woman was from Avanthal? She had to wonder if they were looking for her yet.
"You open your mind by opening it. I can't, unless I had something sharp on me." She gave the girl a smile that could have been a friendly one, or one that said 'maybe next time I will'. "No one likes the House of Broken Mirrors, sadly. Not even natives to the city. Makes them squirm, it seems." But with those rumours, she squirmed as well.
"Finding things in Alvadas should be a game! It should be fun! It will only make you miserable if you don't like to have fun. There are things here, sights and smells and textures and all the things in between, that you will never see again. Boring old Avanthal has nothing on Alvadas."
She started walking. The thought to offer the stranger food had occured maybe, but she wasn't feeling particularly helpful.
"We aren't guaranteed to find a place for you t eat tonight, and now that I think about it, the two places are probably on the same street the marbles are. However, unless you want to hurt your horse, finding a less known restaurant would work. Woudn't it?" |

Just a girl? What an insult! If only she knew! You know what, she will know! She smiled at the thought, this time showing her feline teeth to anyone who bothered to look. "If I'm just a girl, then what are you? Exactly! Nothing ever so special either. Except, maybe I am special, because I am not just a girl. You see, I am far from just a girl." She smirked "If you can guess, I'll give you a prize."
"Ha! So you are from Avanthal! And you don't miss it? For some reason, I don't believe you." She put her finger on the corner of her mouth "I do recall you saying something about this city being full of tricks and pranks, did you not?" the smirk still there. "I'll admit it does get boring after a while." her tone serious now "Why do you think I'm Alvadas for a quick trip?" she chuckled. "It's fine if you don't want to admit it though."
Despite her childish attitude, she also had a serious one even in human form but it didn't mean she couldn't joke around a bit. This place just got more and more confusing. A place where someone with little patience could lose their sanity even by just walking down the streets. She remembered the Vantha saying something about Alvadas being a game.
"I think it would be a game if there were some clues that Ionu left for us. But this is more like a riddle. With no words. And I want to have fun, but it's hard to have fun when you're starving!" She looked at the girl with a look on her face as if to say 'What are you thinking?!? No food tonight?' "Surely there's a place that sells meat around here! I wouldn't mind paying a few pieces of gold mizas for a slice, and a less known restaurant would be fine, just something to eat!" Her horse dipped her head down and grabbed a patch of grass that was growing up between the cobbled bricks as they walked. "So anyways, tell me a bit more about Alvadas. No riddle or sarcasm, just what's this city about? What's it like?"
