Agniprava, The Silent ![]() “Silence is a source of Great Strength.” -Lao Tzu Basic Information -Name: Agniprava; prefers the shortened version, Agni -Race: Benshira -Gender: Male -Age: 20 -Birthday: 53rd of Spring, 492AV Physical Appearance Standing at 6'3", weighing an average of 150lbs, Agni has a slender, well-built, frame. He sports your "average" Benshira, tanned, skin and eyes. His hair is long, crimson red, and normally braided. Sometimes the back of his hair might be pulled together and held by a braid at the bottom; other times he might just have three or four, small, simple, braids. Agni's arms and hands are coated with mehndi-styled tattoo sleeves, which he normally keeps covered in wraps. His silence, and expressionless features, emit a mysteriousness. Agni's torso and legs have many scars; around thirty-five in total. Character Concept Agni has that strong-silent-type personality. He's the type of person that you would see in a movie, or show, that walks into a bar and orders milk. Agni has found that a lot of things can be answered with a simple nod, shake of his head, point, or just a simple stare; one would be lucky to get more than a few words out of him. An example of one of the few times he would speak would be when ordering food -even then, he would only say very little. His silence and expressionless features display a sort of apathy, but his eyes would speak sadness. Freedom is a new concept for Agni, most of his life freedom is something he's never had. He would seem confused if one were to ask him his opinion or what he wants to do. Lost, and confused about what he is to do now, Agni searches for a new life, a new purpose, but being somewhat submissive -combined with his loyalty- there is the fear that he might fall back into his old life; a life as a slave. When you can't find Agni, there's a good chance that he's by himeself doing one of the three: training (unarmed combat), meditating, or playing his mothers wooden flute -he would stop at nothing to protect this flute. Even though he never received the honor of knowing his mother, he often thinks about her -what she might have been like, what were her likes and dislikes, etc. Often he might be awakened by the nightmares -or at least that's what he would call his memories- of slavery, that plague him. He stays aware of his surroundings, thinking that his previous owner might come back to claim him or his life. One might even say he's afraid of running into him, even though he is capable of defending himself. All in all, Agni is a simple man, who enjoys the simplest of things. Simple things like beautiful scenery amuse him. He is not your typical Benshira, he doesn't know anything about his people having a distaste for animalistic races and magi. Character History Agni was the product of a young couple madly in love, born in Yahebah, but this love would blind the father, and destroy the family; forfeiting any chance at a "normal" life. Then again, nothing was normal to begin with. Both Agni's father and mother were to wed another, people they did not want to be with. They decided that the best thing to do would be to gather what they could -and steal some cattle- and run away together, to wander the desert. Both worked hard to survive, until the mother became pregnant. Agni's mother was ecstatic, the father only pretended to be happy, but had doubts -he didn't think they were ready for a child. When it was time for Agni to be revealed to the world, the mother had to endure the pain of child birth by herself. While the father was out, trying to find desert grass, suitable for the cattle, unaware of what was going on back at the tent. When the father finally made it back to the tent, he was greeted with the cries of the newborn and the final words of his lover. The father was devastated, everything that they had done to be together, to survive, and now his lover was leaving him. All the blame and anger was placed on Agni, there was no love. The father never thought of ending Agni's life though, he at least still possessed a small hint of the devotion that Benshira's had to family. The father took care of Agni, until he was able to walk and talk. He was tought Shiber and how to work, to survive. Though, these teachings never came easy, one could easily mistake their relation, as father and son, as master and slave. Agni never stood up to his father, he took the punishments and teachings as they were; what could he do? He was just a little kid, or at least this was his mentality. The one time the two actually had an affectionate moment was when Agni found his father, alone, going through some of his mothers things. One thing in particular piqued Agni's interest, among the jewelry and other articles, and that was a wooden flute. Agni asked his father if his mother used to play it. The father nodded, and encouraged Agni to attempt to play a tune. This was the only affection Agni received, as far as he could recall. Since that night, things seemed like they would slowly start taking a turn for the better; this was not the case. Over the course of a couple of weeks things seemed to go even more downhill. Cattle was being lost, food was getting low, they were too far from the nearest city to survive for long. And just when his father was about to lose all hope, there was a way out; for him anyway. Ravokian slavers were passing by. Desperate for food and Miza, the father sold Agni -at the age of eleven- and that was the last they ever saw of each other. The only thing Agni managed to take with him was his mothers wooden flute, which he always had on him; he was lucky he was even able to keep it. If things were bad with his father, Agni had just entered hell. The main problem Agni had was understanding the common language, because he did not know the language, he was not as efficient as he could be, which got him more punishments than some of the other slaves. Though, the slaver enjoyed punishing Agni, so he never wasted the time or effort to teach him. Agni had to make it a personal goal to teach himself. At the age of eighteen, Agni was bought by a passing traveler. Though, he wouldn't be like Agni's father, or the slaver; this is were Agni's luck would finally change. The traveler had only acted like he was interested in slaves, and for some odd reason he had chosen Agni; to be the one who would free from such a life. Agni never understood the man though, he still believed that he should act like a slave, even when the man explained countless times that he did not have to, that he wasn't a slave anymore. For the next year and a half, Agni traveled with the man. He was taught more about the common language, and more about his freedom; it took Agni a while to even grasp the concept of freedom. When the traveler decided it was time to go back to his home, settle down, and start a family, Agni was given a choice, go with the man that had freed him or attempt to start a fresh, new, life. As much as Agni wanted to continue his travels with the man, he decided that he would not go. He wanted to go out and explore, enjoy his new life; and with that, they parted ways.
