As an Ethaefal, Saiph is tall of stature, standing at 5 feet, 8 inches, and weighing 132 pounds. Like many of her fellow celestial creatures, she is long limbed and graceful, her form slender and taut, but not overly so, with narrow shoulders, waist and hips. Pale moonlight seems to glisten upon the light, iridescent skin of her body and face, dimming slightly when the moon is obscured from view by the clouds. Long hair tumbles down her back, a mixture of ornamented plaits and loose, straight strands. It frames her face like a silken curtain, changing with the seasons, an ever present reminder of her otherworldly creation. Horns of jade protrude smoothly from her temple, the structures changing with the seasons alongside her hair. Her face is ovular and solemn, youthful and one that will seemingly be untouched by the toll of time. Her eyes, however, carry a wisdom and knowing deep within the silver orbs that one so young in appearance should not normally posess.

Only when Saiph reverts to her earthen form as the day begins to approach does the marks of a worldly creature begin to grace her appearance. Becoming the human that she had once been, her iridescent skin fades to a pale cream white color, her hair darkening to a shade of chestnut brown, and her face becoming somewhat more angular. Despite retaining some beauty, she is, admittedly, no longer surreal and divine. In this human form she is not quite so tall, standing now at 5 feet 4 inches, though she retains her slender form, and her eyes darken to a somewhat murky green color that has persistently annoyed her. They remain tranquil, however, as they gaze with a resigned calmness, ordinarily with only a flicker of flame in their greater depths.

Under normal circumstances, Saiph's clothing tends to be neither sparse nor heavy. A flexible corset graces the subtle curves of her female form, consisting of golden and sea-blue brocade, patterened with a dappling of silvery fish. The lightness of the fabric is covered partially by a mottled black hooded cloak, for ease of travel by the cover of darkness, or as a shield from the cool air. Close fitting black leather encases her legs, tucked into simple black boots lacing nearly to her knees for ease of movement, and a panel of darker blue silk drapes from a chain wrapped around her waist across the back of her legs to the side of her right leg, trailing to several inches above the ground, while a treasured necklace, a crescent moon shaped silver pendant, inlaid with milky white jade, dangles from two chains around her neck.

From the perspective of someone viewing Saiph from an outside stance, she would at first appear pernsive, intelligent, but far too quiet. Oftentimes she is immersed in thought, though quite aware of what is happening around her, and she is perfectly happy to stand with a foot in both worlds. Her own world that she had once known , and perhaps would still know if things had transpired differently, and the existence she finds herself in now. When she speaks, it is with words that should come from someone much older. At the same time, she wields the tool of sarcasm well, whether it is for the amusement of agitating another, or because she herself is agitated. Despite the initial reluctance to speak, Saiph clearly has no qualms with carrying on a conversation with another, and finds a strange liking for those who love the night, the heavens, the moon and stars she holds dear.

Saiph is, clearly, a creature of the night. The clear, darkened sky sends a thrill coursing through her veins as, one by one, the flickers of light begin to glimmer in the vastness of the evening sky, and she steps out into the open. Quietly, to herself, she picks out the visible constellations, and contentedly whispers the names of their stars.

For all her love of the stars, Saiph remains deeply devoted to Leth, the god of the Moon. Many a night she has turned her face to the pale disc that hangs in the sky above her, extended her fingers, and closed her eyes, closeness to the skies is what she yearns for. He is her guide, the figure she has turned to for the entirety of her existence, to please him is one of the greatest honors she could hope to attain. For Saiph, it is when Syna's light begins to fade from the sky for the dusk to settle and Leth rises to take posession of the night, that she feels most at home as she slips into the remnants of her divine existence. All the same, she has accepted her position among the earthbound, and here she seeks a purpose, a reason for being where she is, as if this is simply a part of her destined, although she cannot fathom what that destiny may be.

On the 48th day of the Winter, 509 AV, another of Leth's divine souls slipped through an endless chasm that had been rent in the heavenly realm. That soul streaked through the sky, heading for the Suvan Sea. The landing itself she remembers as unpleasant enough, struggling for control as she plunged deep below the surface. The rocking of the waves was of little comfort to her as her head spun, not quite sure of what had really happen. And so she began to swim, until exhaustion overtook her limbs, and she let herself fall into the hands of the waves, trusting, or really, praying, that they would guide her.She washed up along the coast by Syliras, opening her eyes to an entirely strange landscape. Disoriented and confused, she passed the day roaming aimlessly, almost in circles, until hunger eventually defeated her, and she made for the nearest city of Syliras. Still, she did not understand where she was, or why she had been sent here, if sent at all, and she suspected few to none could ever tell her.

For the duration of her stay on this earthen land, she has begun to learn the ways of life, and continues to familiarize herself with this strange place. Some of the plants and animals are no longer as new to her as they once were, though she still finds herself jerking her head around in alarm when the particularly shrill cry of a bird rends the air. However, at the same time, she is not quite sure where she is to go, perhas she is one who is destined to wander, perhaps not. All the same, Saiph is particularly filled with wonder by the appearance of the sky from where she is now, never has it appeared quite so vast, nor, to her dismay, quite so out of reach. Nevertheless, she is determined to no longer be simply a stranger here, to find a purpose, perhaps a new way in which she can serve the god she loves so dearly. This, despite some less than favorable changes that she has begun to come to terms with. Unable to now voice the celestial name, her name, that still resonates so clearly within her head, she took for herself the name of a star of the Orion constellation, yet another marker of her earthbound existence.
