General
Born Name- Piraen Saneka
(pie-rain san-ICK-cuh)
Also Known As- Pi
Gender- Male
Race- Kelvic, Brahminy Kite
Birthdate- 62nd of Winter, 509 AV (6 years old)
Birthplace- Upper regions of Kalea

Languages- Common, Fluent

Appearance
Unstereotypically, Piraen doesn’t enjoy gallivanting around or acting on whims. He prefers to have some order in his life. This shines through in his appearance. His wavy brown hair is never too long or unkempt, his fair skin is, so long as he can help it, never too dirty, and his clothes are always clean and respectable. One of the few times he allows himself to be “out of control” and wild is when he is dressing. Fashion is a huge part of Pi’s life, and he loves to flaunt that every chance he gets. Be it a colorful scarf or intricate vest, Piraen normally adds some kind of unique flare to his wardrobe.

Another “wild” moment he's allowed himself to have would be the installation of a tattoo along his upper spine. No larger than a piece of parchment, Pi’s chosen imperfection is easily hidden and rarely showcased.

In his bestial form, Pi looks just like any other Brahminy Kite. His chest and head are starch white, while his wings present a bright chestnut. His primary feathers, however, are a darker, almost black, chestnut.

Specifics
Human
Height- 5 foot 11
Weight- 179 lb

Bestial
Height- 50 cms
Weight- 530 gs

Similarities
Pi has thin features. Just as a kite has elongated wings, he has arms that are longer than the norm. Pi’s eyes will always appear to be completely black, even though they are really a dark brown/amber.

History

If written down on paper, Piraen’s story would most likely entertain a very limited number of people, most of which being the blind. For it has no racy love affairs, no profound quests for redemption and honor and no dramatic plot twists involving a convoluted bloodline or parentage. In fact, no matter how one slices and dices it, Pi’s life story reads more like a history text book than anything else.

Pi spent his years desperately trying to find a way to feel like something other than a minor character wandering aimlessly through his own story. Unfortunately, this has led him to do exactly that: wander aimlessly. Static, naïve, and suspenseless, Piraen flew around all of Mizahar in the hopes of finding the wonders that truly made life: fate, fantasy, and fashion.

Exposition
No matter what life you've lived, your family is the key to who you are. Their genes are yours, their words are yours, their personalities shape yours. Piraen is no exception to this rule.
Thus, in order to fully understand Piraen, one would have to look back to his parents.

Piraen's father, Issid, was always true to his bestial form. Meaning, he was more often a leopard than he was a human. He enjoyed living as a leopard would: traversing long stretches of land, visiting few cities and talking to even fewer people. The only time he would move into the civilized areas was to find a mate. This was how he met Aella, Piraen's mother.

Aella was born in Alvadas into slavery. The family her mother served was well-off and known in the upper class circle of the city. After the remaining daughter of the family moved out, the family decided they were overstaffed and sold Aella to a man who lived near Denval. Aella was sad to leave the social scene of Alvadas, though she soon found solice in a kelvic friend near her new home. Shaken from the change in scenery and lack of familiar connections, Aella was easily bedded by the leopard kelvic. Once Piraen was born, Aella became completely dedicated to him.

Rising Action
Piraen originally spent little time in Denval, his birthplace. As soon as he was capable, he and his mother flew to Alvadas. Though many would say the city of Alvadas was no place for a young child, for a mind that barely could understood reality. As it turned out, though, Pi was saved by this naivety. The changes in the city were chalked up to his still-growing mind, thus easing the confusion that the city would normally cause. This also made it easier for him to focus on learning the lessons his mother taught him.

Aella made it her mission to teach Piraen what she knew, preparing him for what she thought the world would be like without her. She tried to teach him to camouflage, both physically and socially. She brought him to parties tha were way above their pay grade, showing him how to trick people into thinking he was something other than what he was. Here he also watched his mother read people, using people's own behaviors and words against them.

In between the observations in the parties and the learning sessions on the streets, Piraen and his mother would often (or, at least, as often as the harsh terrain of Kalea would allow)fly back to Denval. The fishing community offered the occasional sanctuary from the craziness of Alvadas itself, but offered no reprieve from the hold that the city held on Piraen's mind. In Denval, Pi would practice what he'd learned from the city. Unfortunately, this ostracized the young kelvic from the rest of the community. After all, who would want to spend time with someone who tried to manipulate them?

Since the others in the town found him too odd and Alvadasians saw him as only a small child, Pi wound up spending the majority of his free time trying to find something to do that his mother couldn't control. This, after many miserable failures, led to Pi's love for fashion. His mother would eventually intervene, but, nevertheless, this obsession stayed with Piraen until the two went their separate ways near 510 AV.

Climax
After leaving his mother, Piraen took up the role of a scout in a small group of nomadic kelvics. After reaching the Suvan Sea, Pi would then separate from that group as well. Finding his way to the castle-city of Syliras, the young man tried his hand at servitude. He began serving an Inartan couple as they traveled Sylira. Unfortunately Pi's new owners found him to be too "independent" for a kelvic, resulting in his release near the city of Nyka. From there, Pi would land himself in Ravok in the Fall of 512 AV. Determined to find his place in the world, Piraen decided to stay in Ravok. It was here that he found his first house, job and potential friendships.

Resolution
Very far in the future...Pi's death. :'(

Timeline AKA TLDR
Winter, 509 - Pi's born in Denval
Spring, 510 - Pi leaves his mother in Alvadas
Early Fall, 510 - Pi arrives in Syliras
Middle of Winter, 511 - Pi leaves Syliras

Important Relationships

Pre-Creation
Mother :
Image

Name- Aella
Race- Kelvic (Egyptian Nightjar)
Relation- Mother
Aella was wholly dedicated to her son. Everything she did was in order to prepare him for the life she had, just in case history repeated itself. She taught Pi everything she knew: acting, observing and lying. The latter of these three skills seemed to be Aella's chief quality. In fact, Piraen was most likely to be the only one who got close to seeing "Aella unfiltered." Everyone else had a completely edited version. The version Aella wanted them to see.

Vessie :
Image

Name- Vespia
Race- Inarta
Relation- Previous owner
Vespia was, like many Inarta, a sassy thing full off fire. Many would avoid the girl: she had a mean streak in her that was set off easier than a fire in a dry forest, and she held a grudge longer than anyone you've ever met. She entertained herself by picking brains, had a nasty habit of dropping names and spent her free time breaking people into tiny pieces. The only other man who would (or even could) withstand her arrogant, hostile nature was her submissive beaux, Jjhin.

The trio met during Piraen's nomadic years. Vessie, appreciating the bird within Pi, quickly took pity on the kelvic and agreed to allow him to serve them. She immediately changed his name to "Riynu" and disallowed all contact to people outside the group. This, however, didn't phase Pi, not even in the least. After a short while, the Inartan soon found that Pi wasn't "easy" enough for her...how could she break a man who had no feelings? She left him without warning near Nyka.

Character Concept

Piraen is something of a coin, he has two somewhat different sides. One side, the face side, is the part the one will normally see. On the face side, Piraen looks to be friendly and playful. The more pleasant of the two sides, Piraen often attempts to keep his personality aligned nicely. However, on the other side of this metaphorical coin, the true Piraen lies. Here he is a psychopath, unable to feel any emotion, guiltless, cold and calculating. And though this side is just his underlying personality, there is still a chance that one may land on it.

Specific Attributes
  • Hypervigilant-- Some bright lights, loud noises, or too fast of motions startle him.
  • Psychopath-- Piraen was born with an inability to feel emotions. He lacks the ability to empathize, and is highly motivated by revenge, greed, and his own interests. This makes him very manipulative of those around him.
