As Selabyss collapsed she gasped, frightful of the sight of the arrow protruding out of his back. Who would do something like this to him... she asked herself in her head as she knelt down, inching towards the arrow then retracting her hand quickly before touching it. What should I... she began thinking to herself again before catching sight of Selabyss' face. He must have been in a lot of pain from it, and she had dragged him around this whole time not knowing this.
Mother. What would you do? she asked herself before suddenly shooting up, standing with tears in her eyes, "I can't leave him like this." she said in a whisper, getting to a point of thinking out loud. She slipped off a part of her robes, taking off her shirt underneath it and then slipping the robes back on. She then reached into her robes again and pulled out a waterskin. I have to help. I have to do this. Mother wouldn't leave anyone in this condition. No matter who they were.
She knelt down next to Selabyss, grabbing the arrow firmly, yanking hard and pulling it out which caused the body in her hands to flinch. With the arrow gone she moved Selabyss to the best of her ability, trying to manipulate his cloths and take off what she could to easily work with the wound. With his cloak and the likes off, she turned him again slowly, pouring the water from her waterskin over the wound and washing away a little of what filth remained on it.
The sight was making her a little sick, as well as sad, a tear rolling down her cheek as she looked at the hole in his back. She took the shirt she had taken off and wrapped it around him, trying her best to keep it pressed against the wound as she tied the sleeves together, rolling the rest of it up underneath to keep what she could on the wound. Slowly she moved him onto his back, the weight of his body would help keep pressure there for a moment.
Not knowing what was left, she thought to try and keep to the basic needs, slipping out of the door outside, and began rushing back to the orphanage. Weaving through a few groups of people, then rushing along a few paths, she found the door and opened it, rushing inside. She did not catch sight of Stitch as she moved on, rushing to her chest of things and pulling out her fur cloak. Throwing it over her shoulder she began making her way back.
After a few minutes of running she slipped back inside the abandoned abode, breathing hard from the rush. Slowly she approached Selabyss, sitting down above his head. She lifted his head and shoulders, scooting underneath and resting him in her lap, throwing the fur cloak over him, the dust from the floor being blown away a little.
She was hoping he was comfortable, at least comfortable enough as she pet his hair, starting to sing to the best of her ability, keeping solid notes but not much diversity in the notes themselves. Her voice was soft at least, and with that was hopefully calming for him. She would sit there singing, trying to make him feel better all day.
If you're not here to kill me...
Then will you be my friend?
