84st Winter 509

It had taken Yernaver almost two weeks before he fully recovered from his litle adventure he had gone to the doctor and was given some stuff to help him.
Still he was now okay despite the long and slow recovery he reached for the book he recovered he had briefly read few parts of it to get the gist of it the book talked about the skill of Intelligence that was used for information gathering the book mentioned a few key terms regarding the whole process, but he hand't given much thought about it.The skill itself wasn't so bad and perhaps it could help him.Okay lets do this then he took the book and started from the page where the definition of the skill was.

Intelligence as a skill is the skill of using a variety of means for the purpose of information gathering and then analyzing and utilizing this information. Information, or "active data", of this nature requires evaluation before being assimilated and used.
Primarily intelligence is used against an opponent in order to gain the upper hand against them by knowing their goals ambitions strong and weak points they have in various areas. The say the goddess Akaja was the one who taught and refined this skill to her followers.

Hrm very interesting a god huh Yernaver was surprised the gods gave some skills to the humans very interesting.
He turned a few pages to the next chapter

Types of Intelligence & Information gathering

Its important to note that there are three ways to get information all can help on varying degrees with different degrees of success those new to the art should take care for counter-Intelligence measures employed by those more skilled in the art.

Firstly we have Observation & Analysis
One of the more common and passive applications of intelligence gathering, this aspect usually relies on the casual observation of individuals and groups and their interaction between them and within them.
Despite being the simplest form of intelligence gathering, this is also the foundation of any operation.
For example one should always take notice of how people of different class are dressed and act, the way they greet each other, where the guards are placed and what their route is, even ascertaining the entrances and exits on a place can be said to fall under thisand aspect of information gathering.
One very important point is that for optimal results its best to use this skill with others like acting or stealth or lockpicking can help a lot in a variety of different situations and environments hostile and not.

The ink was a bit faded, but not much Yernaver sighed this was interesting to know perhaps one day he would write it on a book of his own and sell it.
Still a couple more pages before taking a small break books were nice and all, but tiring at the same time. But he should keep in mind that this form was the safest and easiest from the looks of it.

Secondly we have the Rumors and Hearsay
This is the middle ground between the more passive observation and analysis and the aggressive planned occurrences, rumors and hearsay is the individual's ability to learn about a specific subject or target.

Someone skilled in the art is able to locate the correct strategic places that would allow the spreading of a rumor with ease.At the same time the should be able to find the right person that would help them determine the truth of the specific pieces of information they gathered some skill in interrogation would go a long way to help a novice. Its worth mentioning that this method has synergy with the observation and analysis.

Yernaver closed the book this was nice and all but he was tired time to stretch his legs a bit he got up put his cloak on it was time to test this knowledge before wasting time on it.
