Sarel

Race: Inarta
Caste: Avora
Age: 27
Birthday: Summer 45th 485

Physical Appearance

At first sight Sarel doesn't really stand out in a crowd of inarta, standing slightly below the average at a 5 feet and 6 inches with an unruly mop of bright red hair on top of his head, and a short cropped beard growing on his chin.
If one would bump into him one would see the multitude of burnscars on his body, especially concentrated on his arms and his hands. Though there is one nasty scar on his left leg from when he spilled boiling water over it that usually is out of vision when he is wearing pants. Still even with those scars adorning his body he doesn't wear a shirt. Preferring to go barechested like the mayority of the inarta population

As for the rest of his clothing. He wears the usual inarta wear for a male. A pair of loose bryda, though he does tend to lose those with a rather unnerving regularity around things he deems a fire hazard. Arguing to everybody who forces him back into his pants that the loose flowing fabric is just asking for getting set on fire by accident. A set of comfortable but sturdy leather boots.

Personality

Strangely enough, Sarel is quite levelheaded and reasonable compared to the majority of the male inarta population. Usually taking no unnecessary risks if he can avoid it,sometimes going to weird lengths in that, not reacting to the ribbing of the others to do stupid stunts and at the end of the day he is usually the one who drags his hurt friends to the doctor after one of their stupid stunts.

This levelheadedness does disappear quite rapidly whenever his big passion comes into play. Fire, he loves fire, he loves watching things burn, he loves burning things and he can just watch a burning fireplace for hours if he really hadn't anything better to do. When somebody asked him about that and why he does that he usually tells them its like drinking a fine alo or wine. Or when having already quite the bit of fine ale or wine in him, Bedding a hot woman. Which usually just earns him weird looks.

He usually is quite kind, always having a helpful ,or not so helpfull in some cases, word of advice ready to give to anybody who wants or needs it, including people below his caste. While he does order lesser caste members around for his own benifit, he loathes to do so for trival things or things he could do just as easily himself. He find that sorth of behavior lazy and lazyness isn't fitting for somebody of the avora caste

Character History

Like quite a lot of inarta children he grew up in the nurseries. His mother was a dek, who thanks to her striking looks got forced into the bed of the higher castes more often then she wanted. So his father is completely unknown. Either way She was just able to name her newborn before she needed to hand him over to the nurseries.

Sarel grew up quite normally, he grew up, made friends with some other males, who he usually managed to keep in line or at least keep them from killing themselves with their reckless behaviour. When he was around 13 year old an older blacksmith selected him to become his apprentice, a role he quickly adapted himself to and gained skill in. Much to the older man's delight. His quirk with fire didn't start until later though. When his master decided his apprentice was mature enough at age 19 to learn some extra skills pertaining with the forge and the steel. The magic discipline of auristics to check the steel more esily and the magic of reimancy, to control the fire to their bidding.
If you ask his master he will say he sometimes regrets teaching reimancy to his apprentice. But at least you can't argue with the fact he livens up the life in the volcano.

Something else that was driven into him during his aprenticeship, was the knowledge of the god izurdin. God of industry, strength and patience. Qualities he was seeking to nurture in his apprentice whether he wanted it or not. Sarel quickly took to it though, his naturally more levelheaded temper lending him well to the idea of patience, while the other ideal, strength was something most men aspired to anyway.
To this day, he still follows the tenenths he learned. Strenght to get through the day and to deliver the best work he can to the city. And patience to make sure he didn't give some of the morons who ruined his work a jab in the eye with a heated piece of sheet metal to give them something else to moan about then the broken tool they broke themselves.

(TBC)
