Character's Name Nalani Roberts-Cypher~ Basic Information Race: Kelvic Birthday & Age : 3rd day of Spring, 507 AV, 3 years old Gender: Female Physical Description Nalani is a bordering-on-underweight 105 lbs., but still manages to look healthy anyway, if not a little haggard. This is because of her slightly chubby face that gives off the assumption that she is fully filled out, even if this is not the case. She is 5'5, which she considers to be pretty good, considering how small her bird, the Lark, is. She has a pale pallor, but when in the sun for a while, she recieves a caramel undertone. Her eyes are one of two features she likes to believe are attractive. They are a warm brown color with flecks of yellow in the light and they appear very glassy, just like in her bird form. Although, in the dark they seem a greyish color, but that is only an illusion. Her eyes are also big and wide, considering birds' eyes take up much of their mass in the face. Her nose is prominent in her face and it is slightly upturned with small, slightly slitty nostrils. Nalani's hair is a soft caramel color with strings of black and white randomly scattered. Besides her eyes being her attractive feature, she has full pink lips as well. She has a thin frame with slight curves. When she is in her animal form, she is a chestnut-headed sparrow-lark. In this form she only stands at 21cm. She has brown plummage, prominently on her head and ending near her legs. She is lightly speckled with white and black as well, which shows in her hair in her humanoid form. Domain She usually tends to be out somewhere in any hot desert or somewhere with light to medium vegetation. Like tropical, dry vegetation. She enjoys spending time in Eyktol and sometimes heads and stays hidden in Falyndar. Most of the time though, she is in Sylira. Character Concept Personality: Nalani is a very up-at-dawn and ready to go type of person, much like her animal, the Lark. She is more of a morning person who has great energy during that time and doesn't go too late into the night. Nalani enjoys a quiet life with risk-taking moments to liven it up and likes living for the moment. At this point in her life, she can be naive, but has a lot more sense of how the real world works and how to deal with people. She is a people person and shows genuine interest in them. She is extremely well at understanding others and seeing in their point of view. Nalani takes her roles very seriously and she is very dependable. She is also warm and energetic. In order to feel good about herself, she needs approval from others and rejection can take a toll on her. She is very caring towards others and this causes her to have a hard time grasping or accepting a difficult truth of someone she is close to. She is not afraid to give her opinions and voice her thoughts. She believes in law and authority and will follow it gladly. She is always looking for someone to serve and will willingly offer herself when and if she ever finds someone. Singing and playing her self-made tinwhistle is her favorite pasttime and music has and always will be at the top of her priorities list. Interacting with her fellow birds is also something she does. Both these things help her keep calm in the dangerous world she was born into. Character History She was born to two parents, Lidia and Chandalen Cypher in Sylira. Both of them were proud of Nalani and made her feel good about being a small lark. They were both Kelvic as well and she lived with their kind Masters until she was sold to another household. And not a good one at all. Her Mistress insisted on treating her like a freak. Growing up being rejected over and over by someone that should be kind to her and appreciative of what she does has done nothing for her mental stability. This gave her a big part of her personality, but she worked hard to keep herself happy, and you wouldn't think she came from a tough past when you meet her. Sometimes she thought being born a lark was more a curse than a gift, but she learned to accept it and deal with her Mistress. When she was about three years old, she decided she had enough and apparently so did her Mistress. After raging about how a lark was doing nothing to help her and how insignificant being an un-predatory Kelvic was, she kicked her out. Before doing that, she screamed out that if she was going to be a bird, she should've been an eagle or a falcon. Now, she's been wandering around free, but not completely happy with her life. Like every Kelvic, she longs to serve a Master or not be lonely. Although, she has been looking and hoping someone won't find her useless and to be appreciated and loved like most Kelvics are that she sees when traveling. Despite that, she's going on strong and getting by, making sure not to let unhappy thoughts weigh her down.
