Spring 10th, 512AV He was only wandering the streets. Not attracting much attention for he strode with purpose as if he knew precisely where he was headed and why. It was exactly the opposite, if one asked him he would not even know what city he stood in at that moment. His thoughts were far away and he paced around through the different areas trying to figure out what to do with himself. He was listless, unsure and even the thought of a little con brought him to energy. Matthaus’ own thoughts annoyed him but he couldn’t shake them. He felt just like he had before Rikki had found him. Alone and uncomfortable. But mostly alone. His teeth clacked together strongly and he halted his train of thoughts, straightening his shoulders and raising his head to survey his surroundings. He was within the Bazaar and perhaps he could turn his wasting day into something productive. Slipping his hood off he strode towards the nearest stand and began to poke and prod the fruit, aware of the vendors hawk-like eyes making sure he was not a thief. A part of him was tempted to jingle any coin he had but that would be foolish, but the thought of how the man’s demeanors would surely change amused him. Plucking up an apple he held it to the dim light, “How much for the apple?” “Four silver.” Did he looked stupid? Apparently. “Four? I thought it would be more like six but if you say four…” He bit the inside of his lip to keep from smirking. This would be a fun distraction for the day and if nothing else he would get some sort of experience from it. Hopefully one he could repeat. |
